OP posts:
Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 20:53

I didn't do it Blush

But I did... get my feet eaten by fish. Which is almost the same as shining your sink... they are now gloriously smooth and ready for summer! Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2011 20:55

Ooooh! That sounds much more fun. I keep wondering about trying that. How thorough are they? Does it feel good? Did you giggle? Tell! Tell! Tell!

Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 20:55

Well, perhaps a bit of rain is what we need to concentrate on the house! I'm in all day today because someone's coming round to quote us some work.

Should we do a house blessing tomorrow then? As well as whatever the babystep is?

Carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2011 20:56

And doesn't Flylady have something about taking good care of yourself? So you were actually flying while you did it Long - there is no escape!!!

Carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2011 20:57

If I don't get a phonecall tonight that will call me out of the house tomorrow then I will definitely do a house blessing tomorrow Long - race ya!

Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 20:58

It's very very odd... but totally worth it. It was only £20 for 30 mins which is cheaper than a pedicure... I mean, it's totally weird, and at first it tickles / feels bitey (even though they don't have teeth, they just suck really hard apparently Hmm

But my feet feel marvellous, really smooth. And the fish work at places like between your toes, they don't just go for the obvious places...

Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 20:58

Yes, that's right, it was all in a good cause Grin

Re the house blessing, you're on!

Dosey · 04/05/2011 22:12

hi everybody, Long I would love to have my feet sucked by fishes!!! Theres a new place opened near us so I might have to give it a go.

Carrots, I hope dh has made it up to you re the pancake business and shined the sink until he can see his face in it!!!

I am doing well this week, I have managed all my routines and the daily missions. I had a spare half hour after work and I managed to wash the walls in the hall and staircase. They were covered in greasy marks. I also decluttered my make up box which was gross! I havent been out in the garden today though. I went for a run tonight and it was about dark when I got back. Its supposed to rain for the next couple of days, I am hoping it will brighten the lawn up.

Carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2011 12:40

Hello all!

Dosey dh redeemed himself a little by loading the dishwasher - I was left to tidy the drainer, shine the sink and scrub the worktops though so I reckon he will have to load the dishwasher tonight as well Grin

You are doing so well with your housework this week Dosey - what is the secret?

Long how is that house blessing going? I had to go out first thing so I wasn't back til after 11. I have done about half of my house blessing though. The bathrooms are done and two of the bedrooms are dusted. There is still a lot to do but that will be it for today as I am a bit sore and heading out to an exercise class so don't want to take it too far with this ropey arm.

I have got through a couple of loads of washing too and decluttered the car ready to clean it tomorrow so all is not lost.

Longtalljosie · 05/05/2011 12:42

Ah you're ahead of me - had to wait for DD to go down for her nap - that's just happened, so off I go!

Carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2011 12:58

I won't finish today though Long so you will still win Grin

Longtalljosie · 06/05/2011 09:40

Babystep 12 Not a problem - I don't subscribe anyway! Grin

Longtalljosie · 06/05/2011 13:59

OK so today I have... cleaned the washine machine drawer, cleaned the odd shelving thing in the kitchen which is build in to the units and a total dust magnet, and have done some tidying away. I think in a week or two I might build up to the full missions / fly zones - but the place is still too cluttery right now I think

Carrotsandcelery · 06/05/2011 14:40

I haven't got far today. I didn't get in until 12 and then was phoned by the school to come and get dd as she was not well Sad

She seems ok though, just a bit flat.

Since then I have been cooking.

I did ask dh to move some stuff in the lounge before he left this morning so I could do a more thorough clean but I haven't got in there yet. I will have to do something in there before he gets home or there may be some words! Blush

I will leave the mission until this evening - it looks a perfect "bored in front of the tv" job.

I need to get cracking. I need to do the dishwasher, unload the washing, hoover and clean the lounge. Yikes!

Dosey · 06/05/2011 14:45

hi everybody, Long you are doing well, I do struggle with daily missions and detailed cleaning lists. I tend to be rigid on the home blessing and daily routines, anything after that is a bonus. The fly zones come round quite often so if you dont get it all done you can catch up next time.

So far today I have blessed my home which did take me longer that the usual hour, not sure why!! Also made a cake with dd2, making a stew for tea in the slow cooker ( the house smells divine with baking a stew on the go!) And have managed to do 15 minutes in the garden while dd2 was watching Mr Bloom!!!! She has now told me how to stop snails eating strawberries!!!!

Going to the park now before picking up dd1 from shool, hope we are all ok xx

Longtalljosie · 06/05/2011 20:45

Ooh - how do you stop snails eating strawberries?

Carrotsandcelery · 06/05/2011 21:26

Tell, tell, tell!

Carrotsandcelery · 07/05/2011 13:29

Hello everyone - I seem to be back on track. The kitchen is now decluttered (apart from the sideboard), the lounge is virtually back to its usual self, the washing is on, the dishes have been done, the floors are swept/hoovered, the bathrooms are swished etc. Hurrah!

The job for later is to fold and sort the massive pile of clean laundry but to wipe the kitchen sofas first as they are covered in rabbit hair. Confused

How is everyone else doing today?

Longtalljosie · 07/05/2011 18:30

Had a bit of back pain today so haven't done very much... I've washed out the salad crispers and bottom shelf of the fridge, swept the kitchen floor and errr... that's it. But the back's the boss...

That said, we have finally bought a new magazine rack (£8 reduced in John Lewis) which makes me happy and aids the organising!

Carrotsandcelery · 07/05/2011 22:59

Go easy on that back Long or nothing at all will be done. I hope you feel better soon.

Longtalljosie · 08/05/2011 09:50

You're right Carrots, I just get so frustrated at how little it takes to set me back! I want to be able to do my exercise DVD, ride bikes, be able to move furniture! Especially I want to be able to pick up my DD

Anyway, where's Dosey with her slugs and strawberries tip?

Carrotsandcelery · 08/05/2011 09:56

I know - I was grilling the kids about this Mr Bloom character (I had never heard of him) and asking them about the strawberries.

I hear you on the frustration front Long - I only have a sprained muscle in my lower arm and it is driving me nuts. You see all the things you could be getting on with but if you do them then you won't be able to do anything for days/weeks afterwards.

Slow and steady wins the race Grin and you don't mess about with backs - it is the boss!

Not picking up dd is Sad though. Can she clamber up on you? Cuddle up beside you in bed or on the sofa? There must be a solution.

Longtalljosie · 09/05/2011 10:26

We do cuddle on the sofa, and when she holds her arms up to me I kneel down and she climbs on my knees for a cuddle.

That said, the other day she fell asleep in her lunch and there was no choice but to carry her up to bed. She had her head nestled in my neck, it was heaven.

Anyway.... have done the rudiments of a morning routine and spent 15 mins decluttering the kitchen. Now must get ready for work - have a good day xxx

Dosey · 09/05/2011 21:46

hi everybody

Well my week has started good, I have managed to shine my hob, do my routines and do 15 minutes in the garden.

We had a meeting today at work. The team's internet usage has been pulled and my Manager is going through the report with a fine tooth comb. I feel sick with worry, I know mumsnet and flylady will come up on mine quite a lot. I do always get my work done and my quality/quantity has never been an issue. I just pop in and out during the day, quite a lot. Some days I am signed in all day but just minimise the window. I am dreading being taken to one side. Hence coming home tonight and getting lots of housework done!!!! Scrubbing my worries away!!!! What it worse is that it will take some time to go through the report and check what and when people have been doing so I am going to be scrubbing for some time!!!!

Hope everybody is well
xx

way2serious · 09/05/2011 21:51

Hi all. I have been advised to join this group. I have just started flying. Have done the clean sink, getting dressed & organising clothes the night before and so am starting on the 2 minute hot spot tomorrow. Am goin to try to do this twice- once in the morning and once in the evening. Is there anything else as a new flyer that I should be doing??
