Baby step 7

Carrotsandcelery · 27/04/2011 12:43

Thanks Long - I am so glad I have done most of the ironing now!

I haven't done much today yet - just hung a load of washing and put another one on. I should have caught that up just in time for the kids to be off school again for 5 days. Grin

It is glorious here today so I took the dog for a wander through the woods which was fab, nipped to Tesco and the garden centre and I have been doing some cooking. I am heading out to do my gardening flylady stuff for the day but I will be doing my hot spot etc before the day is out.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/04/2011 14:11

Ok, so I loaded the dishwasher and scrubbed the worktops and then did some cooking so now I need to load the dishwasher again and scrub the worktops again Hmm once the current load is finished.

Thanks for linking
Long day at work so have only managed to get babysteps done and kids bathed and in bed. Load of washing done, DC bags packed for morning and clothes ready. Back doing some more work though Sad
Night all - just checking in to keep motivated

Longtalljosie · 28/04/2011 07:03

Morning! Baby step 8

Dosey · 28/04/2011 14:29

Hi everybody, popping in for the first time in a couple of days. Not a good week really just the daily routines done but I am hoping to bless my home tomorrow before the wedding.

My week has been filled with scoffing dds easter eggs, which has really distracted me from flylady. Theres not that much chocolate left so hopefully will be back on track soon x

Carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2011 14:32

Thanks again Long - I have been going like the clappers this morning but not on the housework so I have a lot to do today. The breakfast dishes are still waiting to be dealt with but I needed a little breather.

Carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2011 14:22

Has anyone done any housework today?

I have put on a wash, made a cake, scrubbed the work tops, hoovered, decluttered the kitchen table, tidied up the hallway and decluttered the coffee tables in the kitchen. Shock

Now I am trying to persuade the rest of the family to help me put the outdoor hutches out for the guinea pigs so they can move outside for the summer and to clean out one of the rabbit hutches. Strangely no one seems keen to help me Hmm

Are you all partying or has anyone else been doing a bit of flying inbetween things too?

Longtalljosie · 29/04/2011 21:45

I haven't done the babystep but did nuke the ensuite with Viakal...

There's a lot of clutter though, I can't keep ignoring it!

SharonGless · 30/04/2011 07:59

It was our wedding anniversary too yesterday but I watched the wedding in the morning. Did 4 loads of washing yesterday as it was a brilliant drying day. Did a swish and swipe in bathroom too plus a hotspot on that paperwork basket so feel like yesterday was a good one.

Am away for a couple of days but linking to todays babystep

Carrotsandcelery · 30/04/2011 11:50

Happy Anniversary Sharon - how many years were you celebrating? We will be 12 this year which is a bit of a Shock.

I have swished the ensuite - I do it as a matter of habit now while I clean my teeth so I don't even have to summon the motivation for that one. I have also scrubbed the work tops (again), loaded the dishwasher (again), decluttered the kitchen table (again), and tidied the coffee tables (again) - suspect I should have MUG printed on my forehead Hmm

I have also hurt my arm again moving the hutches yesterday when I got fed up waiting for someone to help. Dh feels really guilty now so is trying to help - bit too late really but I will still find some useful tasks for him to assist with Grin

The dcs have a very complex looking farm set up in the middle of the kitchen floor so I am using that as my excuse not to hoover in here today - I would hate to damage their creativity [tries to look innocent].

Longtalljosie · 30/04/2011 12:20

Hmm - well today's my birthday so I might be ignoring today's babystep! Off out to lunch shortly in my new trousers Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 30/04/2011 12:25

Oooh! Happy Birthday Long Have a fab time, feel fab in your new trousers, and def no flying for you today. Wine We need a champagne emoticon for the summer!

Longtalljosie · 30/04/2011 12:31

Have a lovely day everyone! And happy anniversary for yesterday Sharon!

Carrotsandcelery · 01/05/2011 12:16

I hope you enjoyed yesterday Long and you aren't suffering in any way today. Grin

I am failing big time today. The place is a tip and dd has 3 friends coming tonight for a sleepover! There is even guinea pig poo in the hallway - that is how manky it is here today Blush

I am trying hard to get my head out of the sand and get moving.

I hope everyone else is enjoying their long weekend.

Carrotsandcelery · 01/05/2011 12:59

I got myself moving so indoor guinea pig is now cleaned out, landing is hoovered, hallway is hoovered an now poo free (Hurrah!) Kitchen worktops are scrubbed and kitchen is hoovered and washing is hung out. I did have a mutter about when I get a holiday etc etc while I did it all but was completely ignored. Hmm

Longtalljosie · 02/05/2011 07:23

I'm faiiling too - what can we do to motivate ourselves? Did anyone actually do yesterday's babystep or should we have another go at it?

My nemisis is the fecking ironing. With DD in the garden getting herself covered in stuff all the time there's so much of it by the time it's done I can't be bothered to do anything else...

Carrotsandcelery · 02/05/2011 10:24

I just seem to go round and round in circles with the dishwasher, worktops, kitchen table declutter - and repeat!

I think all the various holidays have knocked the routine as well, as has adding in the garden jobs.

I didn't even look at the babystep yesterday Long. Blush

My dcs go back on Wednesday so I should make it a fresh start from then until the summer holidays.

Longtalljosie · 02/05/2011 16:08

OK, well let's just draw a veil over yesterday - here's babystep 10

So - hotspot for 2 minutes, room rescue for 5, anything you like for 15. Back in 22 minutes, off I go...

Longtalljosie · 02/05/2011 17:31

Erm, well, more than 22 minutes later...

2 mins in the hall (the hotspot that never stops burning)
5 mins in the dining room finding room for the garden crockery I got for my birthday
15 mins in the bathroom.

It does feel better, I must admit...

Dosey · 02/05/2011 21:19

hi everybody, well a bank holiday spent at home means that I managed all my daily routines, todays mission of washing the front door and sweeping the front path and I managed to get on top of the ironing. All the while dds were making a complete mess of the front room with their toys. That did tidy up in no time though so I am quite happy today. Also managed to do lots of nice things with dds so all is good. Not sure what tomorrow will bring when we are all at work and school. I will certainly have a tidier house though.

Longtalljosie · 03/05/2011 12:23

Envy Dosey!

Today's a work day. I work lates and, as ever, planned to do my Fly stuff before leaving the house and, as ever, didn't! Oh well. Carrots, Sharon, everyone else, how are you getting on?

Carrotsandcelery · 03/05/2011 21:26

I am not doing well Long - I am totally distracted by the garden just now.

Everyone goes back to work/school tomorrow though so I am planning a house blessing and decluttering a few times over to get things back on track.

It seems more worthwhile when no one will follow behind messing it up again before I have even finished.

Although it all looks bad I know it won't take as long as it used to as it is still only 4 days' mess and there have been mini declutters going on here and there out of habit, even if though I was not focussed.

Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 09:34

Well, the gardens do need attention at the moment. Babystep 11 appears to be more affirmationy rubbish so (as soon as I get out of bed following late shift) I'm going to do the 22 min routine above again xx

Carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2011 20:33

How did your 22 mins go Long?

I am a bit Angry with dh. Last night he promised the dcs pancakes for breakfast if they did what he wanted them to do. That is all well and good but he was still in bed at 7.30 so clearly had no intention of making them pancakes himself. So guess who started the day by making an almighty mess making pancakes? I didn't even get one! Envy

I will get revenge though by insisting that he shines the sink for me tonight. I have already done it twice today so I reckon it is his turn.

I managed about half of my routines today. I had planned a house blessing but dh told me the weather was due to turn so I tried to get a good bit done outside that would be difficult in poor weather. [excuses emoticon]

Half my routines is still way more than I would have done before we started this thread though so I am still improved Grin
