I did it yonks ago (origional threads Wink) , have drunk alot of tea slipped since then and really want to start it again as it really seemed to work for me :) I am going to blitz as much as I can before the 1st (tree/decs away tonight etc.) so I am starting as much as I can with a clean sheet :) Anyone a lapsed flyer (or whatever we call ourselves) or wants to be a domestic goddess (Hmm) as of the 1st? Grin

We have a loft, but it's not so accessible - and it could really do with a declutter. We also have a large garage/workshop that is stuffed to the brim with decorating/camping/gardening stuff and all the results of previous decluttering which now need to go on to car boot sales or the dump. DH quite likes doing the sales so we will have a sort out at some point in the spring and get rid of it allGrin.

Have decided to do my 15 minutes a day in my office/craft room - craft stuff is reasonably sorted out but general paperwork and filing will take at least a week going at 15 minutes a day I think.

Have done a hot spot clean up this morning before work of some moonsand that had been on the dining table since the day after boxing day! DSs have enjoyed playing with it but left it alone for the last few days so have now put away for another day.

Room rescuing tonight in the lounge, and buying some more bathroom supplies on my way home ? do have some already, but want more I can leave in the bathroom all the time.

I found it harder to stick to the routines at the weekend too ? we tend to stay in our pyjamas all morning unless we have something specific to get up and do, but there is an argument that we would use our family time more productively if we weren?t all slobbing in front of the tele!!

CointreauVersial · 11/01/2011 17:36

Carrots - you can have my loft, if you tidy it first. Grin

bessie26 · 11/01/2011 17:56

Envy at Cointreau's loft.

We dump stuff in the spare room, loft or garage. I've not been up in our loft for about 3 years, but apparently that's getting pretty full so I guess that means we should declutter up there too

dylsmum1998 · 11/01/2011 19:30

cointreau love the sound of your loft- if ours was accesible then I think dc would steal it as a play den. I think the one we have is better- its empty Grin I have one room in the house that is clutter free Grin

I am finding it harder to stick to the routines now I'm back at uni although to be fair I did expect that. Think I may need to rethink how much I can do in a day esp. on my long days (mon, tues and weds).

Will keep trying I may just get better at it all

farming4 · 11/01/2011 20:44

not posted for a few days but dh has just come home from work and asked was I pg again (we already have 4 dc!) cos the house was looking tidier than it had for years Shock. Must be doing something right!Grin Glad you are all on here cos it makes me get off my backside and keep up with you when I read how well everyone is flying.

Dosey · 11/01/2011 20:52

evening all, havent posted for a few days either but I am keeping up with my routines, I cant believe how well I am doing and how tidy the house looks, I dont feel like I am doing any housework at all. Its great. I cant remember what babystep we are on but bring it on!!!!

bessie26 · 11/01/2011 21:14

dosey - here's the link to babystep12 that carrots posted earlier

I discovered today that I can remove the (fairly scummy) seal from the bottom of the shower screen - it's all gleaming now Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2011 21:17

I looked round the house tonight and (as long as I keep the study door shut) I have a nice house! Grin It is a normal, non freaky, level of clean and tidy and I don't feel that I have had to do much to get it that way. It just seems to be little and often.

Guacamole · 11/01/2011 21:50

I've lapsed. Blush

Carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2011 22:04

No, no, no Guacamole - you have just had a wee holiday Grin Start again tonight with a shiny sink.

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 11:07

Baby Step 13
Morning everyone. I am off to a slow start today but about to get busy. This is today's offering.

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 11:11

Think I will clean out the fridge - flylady style doesn't sound too horrific.

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 11:22

Well that is the fridge done! Shock Flylady style takes no time - that was about 4 minutes!

noeyedear · 12/01/2011 11:27

Cor! I could do today's babystep with pleasure! I've been a bit rubbish, because I've come down with a cold ( excuses, excuses) but I have started cleaning out the sink and wiping the surfaces in the bathroom every day. The sink looks nice. I'll do my house blessing on Friday and give the bathroom a proper blitz. Shopping today, so I'll look for the shower spray stuff.

noeyedear · 12/01/2011 11:28

I meant yesterdays deleting emails babystep! See? I'm one day behind!

noeyedear · 12/01/2011 11:31

Going to clean the fridge instead of watching the dross that is Waybuloo!

Longtalljosie · 12/01/2011 12:05

Morning girls! I work shifts Monday and Tuesday so am pretty much offline those days. Had my parents staying until this morning as well so once I'd got up (home from work at midnight) there was work to be done. Not entirely in the routine (it works better for me later in the week once I've pulled it back) but I went around with the steamer and blasted the dirt off the cooker and sinks. Tidy again and ready to go (sink shiny)

Just seen the mission but it'll have to be this afternoon. Not before time though, the fridge is currently a bit of a Blush area post-Christmas...

Longtalljosie · 12/01/2011 12:05

Oh and my mum commented on the sparkling kitchen - serious first! Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 12:21

Well done Long - my parents and MIL have NEVER praised my housework - the best I have had is that my house is "a home" from my Dad (who is a clean freak) Grin
I did a 15 declutter and can now get into a 2foot square area of the study. Blush It is a revelation to me though that I don't have to do the whole room in one go. I hate going in there because it is so overwhelming - but 15 mins a day I can stand!
I am now off to scale yet another ironing mountain and praying for decent tv while I do it.

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2011 12:50

I have the very kitchen drawer she describes, bulging with plastic bags, pens, clingfilm, shopping lists and hairbands.

Just wait til I get my hands on it.....

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 12:56

Go Cointreau Go! Grin

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2011 13:03

Well I'm sadly at work today, but will be home with the DCs by 3.30pm, so that'll be my first task (OK, maybe I might need a cup of coffee first).

How's the ironing mountain? I'm one of those dreadful people who doesn't iron anything, so it's one less task for me to worry about.

Carrotsandcelery · 12/01/2011 13:50

I have done all of mine and all of dd's - just ds's to go. Stopped for a diet coke break. Sadly no sexy men to watch during it but the dog came for a cuddle Grin

Guacamole · 12/01/2011 14:03

Well I'm back on track... I've done my fridge, which is rather handy because Tesco will be arriving this evening. I've also spent a good 20 mins blitzing the high chair... Why are they so hard to clean?????

Guacamole · 12/01/2011 14:06

I shall be tackling the ironing tonight in front of the lovely Harrison Ford... In his younger Indiana Jones days!
