bin liner in hand heads for front room

Nuttybear · 18/11/2010 09:58

Morning all
Wendy GreySkull &all I have no tips re angry or boisterous children. You need to ask My Mum about that. I was always angry and my Brother was a nightmare. We were quite violent towards each other. Little Brother and Sister were just feral (in a good way)

OFM I find that I go to work to rest! Also went swimming yesterday. Envy at size 12,it's my own fault. I'm not cooking during the week so that helps. We either have soup or something on toast.
Swan watched Madmen. I do love it when Peggy is in the story. I couldn't wait for tonight.
JAS Will look at your Christmas thread again I think I've missed the boat this year!
Back in a bit with a list

swanriver · 18/11/2010 10:10

Nutty have posted on Telly Addicts briefly.
Ds2 is now making an electrical circuit Shock in front room as I tidy, he is a model patient!
Ah spoke too soon, now he wants to know the England France Score on computer.

Nuttybear · 18/11/2010 10:10

JAS Listen to Radio 4 You and Yours' at 12 noon ' Why do women spend so much time on preparing for Christmas?' Kirstie Allsop will be on it. Maybe pick up some ideas

Jas · 18/11/2010 11:56
Grin

I haven't actually done all the stuff on that thread. I just cut and paste the email once a week.
Grin

I have made another batch of chutney for presents today though,

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 18/11/2010 12:39

Jas you are wonderwoman!

Morning everyone
nutty is the aunty your sister? I love the fact that my boys love their AuntyGreyskull so much, they get very excited about her coming or them going for a sleep over there. Your list is vast! Good luck getting through it.

swan sounds like you have you have your hands full today your DSS's sounds like the perfect patients! Hope lunch goes well.

wendy definately have a nap, it is good for you! as for this afternoon, do you have some craft stuff you could get her to make pictures to frame for treasured rellies for Christmas?

Satinshoes If it is for clothes I think it looks great, my link was a more toy storage idea.

Have had a busy morning. Dropped the boys off at school and then driven for and hour to have coffee with a friend and pick up some curtains and then drove an hour back to pick up DS2 from playgroup at 12.
Lunch is done
have to clear house of crap DH was tense this morning and although he wouldn't dare say anything the lack of order is getting to him.
Also have to get to the supermarket.
what shall we eat this week?

last week made, chicken and ham pie, sausage cassarole, spag bol and various leftovers.
was thinking risotto of some sort
but aside from that am a bit bored of the normal choices.
BBL Smile

Nuttybear · 18/11/2010 13:14

tea Break
Greyskull Often things drop off the list!
I had my nephew stay with me when I was a spinster Smile Let them watch Life of brian when they were 7yrs Smile
Do you kids like prawns & chicken. I did a fake paella for family friends on Sunday fed 4 adults and 4 children with roughly 3 chicken breasts, peas, frozen prawns, and peppers. Very quick to make as well No stirring.
Jas No tips from Allsop Sad She said you should have 30% done by now! Does buying stamps count as 30%. To be fair I have brought the Panto tickets (No money for presents now) Fix a date to go out with the girls from work to Winchester and another day to see the light with DS and my best friend & DHs. So event planning has been done. Going to wait until I retire to make chutney so, only 7 years to go!
Right tea break almost over

knackered after riotous lunch Grin
introduced two friends who hd never met before

done
front room beautifully clean and tidy, however tht does mean

tht
todo
playroom now has piles of junk in it
children have spent even more time watching telly

however kind friend from Stokey N. supervised violin and piano practice for me, and supplied a Lego Advent Calendar
ds has been to his violin lesson, running the gauntlet as he hopped through the playground to cries of recognition Hmm

I am now completely behind with EVERYTHING, except I suppose friends did force me to tidy front room extra specially sparkley Grin

I'd forgotten tht one of the reasons people come and visit you is to give you their Xmas presents as early as possible Blush when I haven't even thought of her son's. Friend is obviously v. organised; it wasn't just an Advent calendar but two presents, one for convalescent and one for Xmas itself.

swanriver · 18/11/2010 17:02

TPT When I try any online doddering I hear terrible shrieks in distance, just as I reach checkout, then computer won't bookmrk, and dies, and I wonder why I wanted said item anyway.... Then someone steals the computer, or I have to hide it. Mumsnet at least requires no checkout!

Still struggling wth tombola prizes - Does anyone know of source of discount "toy" prizes, goodish quality?

Greyskull short of meal ideas too. Children hate peas, peppers alas. Tonight it may be macroni with cheese, bacon leek and mushroom except they wll pick out the leek and mushroom!

SatinShoes · 18/11/2010 17:17

Online shopping is your friend. I have nearly done all my xmas shopping :) You just have to have an idea about what you want and not waste time browsing aimlessly.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 18/11/2010 17:17

cones Not for a wedding but have found red and white candy cane type striped paper and am making cones for a pick and mix table I am putting together for DH's party.

evening all

Am just sooo tired this evening!

Was meant to go for run, but barely have enrgy to walk so have wimped out!

all seem to have been very productive today!

Must agree with the fans of internet shopping. I really couldn't exist without internet shopping - it is such a relief! Have about 80% of my Christmas shopping done, and mostly on-line Grin

Tomorrow have to drive right over other side of town for Psychology appointment for dd3...(accompanied by DS2 oh joy!)app is at 10.30, so wont be back till about 12.30/1.00....and really need to get to shops for:dress for dd3, shoes for dd3 and 4, trousers and shirt for ds2....oh and other stuff I forget...
Then need to totally blitz house, sort out sleeping arrangements for MIL, change beds, and go food shopping...all between 1.00 and 3.00, accompanied by nightmare 2 yr old...
It's just not going to happen is it?!?!
Think I just wont bother with any of it Hmm

I'm so tired I'm wondering if I can go to bed yet...LOL

Right, well hopefully BBtomorrow at some point...

OverflowingMum · 18/11/2010 18:51

oh and just had a 45 min conversation with DD3 about "snow showers" went along the lines of
me:"oh, they say there may be snow showers next week"
DD3 "SNOW showers?"
Me: Yes, snow showers
DD3: What do you mean
Me: they think there may be snow next week
DD3: oh, I thought you said showers
Me: says they said snow showers
DD3: SNOW showers???
Me: YES...
DD3: What's a snow shower?
Me: you know, like a rain shower , but snow instead
DD3: So does snow come out of the shower, or is it made of snow
Me: what? Confused
DD3: well how can a shower me made of snow
Me: do you know what a shower is?
DD3: yes it's what is over the bath that makes you clean, but how can it be made of snow
....and on....and on....
she just couldn't grasp the idea of what a shower was bless her...
The joys of having a dd with Aspergers, bless her!Hmm

wendyhappysmile · 18/11/2010 20:02

OFM LOL at snow showers, bless her!
How did you find out about Bear Satin when it's not on the list?

Terrible stomach ache appeared about 10 am this morning, feeling sick - so couldn't nap. Sent DD to grandma's this afternoon so I could sleep. felt very guilty, as MIL wasn't very pleasant when she brought her back after a couple of hours so she could go to the m and S open evening or something with her daughter. I don't compare to the daughter as I'm only the daughter IN LAW of course.

Stomach ache went after nap but has returned after tea Sad. We also had risotto! With peas though, so no good for you swan

Right, don't know what to do now. No position is comfortable. Need to watch Mad men too.
