We have a few decorative bits we are waiting on being delivered but does it seem something is missing from my daughters bedroom?

A rug

Scarby9 · 23/03/2022 12:32

A rug, maybe?
It looks lovely.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/03/2022 12:33

Bookcase?

ClariceQuiff · 23/03/2022 12:34

I think once you have the decorative pieces in it will look less empty. The decor is lovely. You should wait until the decorative bits arrive before deciding whether to add anything else.

LaWench · 23/03/2022 12:34

Bedside table with lamp.

SelfIdentifiedRightsHoarder · 23/03/2022 12:34

Toys/kids clutter! It looks lovely, but more like a catalogue photo than a lived in child's bedroom. Have you considered shelves lower down so that your child is able to choose their own books/toys etc? Also agree with above - a rug!

Mamadooley · 23/03/2022 12:36

My daughter is just under 2 and a climber! The book shelves are up high for her safety. When she’s a little older they will be lower. And we need to have things tidy and away so she dosnt stay awake all night playing 😂 toddlers eh 😅

It's very pretty but it's all a bit one-note. I think you need to inject a bit of colour to give it a lift. Even adding some toys and books might help? Or some plants?

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 23/03/2022 12:38

I love the light ! It's a lovely room but needs some toys on show

Justmuddlingalong · 23/03/2022 12:39

Some bunting along the cornicing on the window wall. It looks too bare to me.

DaisyDozyDee · 23/03/2022 12:40

First thing that springs to mind is books! But generally it looks pretty, but not like a real home. Once she’s got her toys and things in there, it’ll look better (especially if at least some of those things are any colour other than pink).

Mamadooley · 23/03/2022 12:41

We do also have a playroom for context, she’s not made to sit and count the threads In the carpet all day 😂 we also haven’t officially moved into this house yet we’re buying from family so we are decorating the kids room before moving in

honestly it looks lovely ! And I'm sure once you're in she will trash the place anyway 🤣
Nelliephant1 · 23/03/2022 12:44

It's lovely but given her age, within the year you'll be looking back at these pictures barely remembering when it looked like this! She'll fill it up soon enough with bits and bobs!
The only thing I'd do now is possibly put some colour on the toy chest and maybe a couple of teddies on top.
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about a rug as it'll be one more thing to fall over and have to straighten up!!

astoundedgoat · 23/03/2022 12:44

The walls are a bit bare. Pictures? Books/bookcase (that she can reach).

EatSleepReplete · 23/03/2022 12:45

Curtains? We have curtains for DD's room, with blackout lining... we are still planning to get a blackout blind as she struggles to sleep sensible hours during summer.

Mamadooley · 23/03/2022 12:45

Thankyou! One of the decorative bits I’m waiting on is actually her name in pink for the toy box xx

Looks gorgeous but maybe a comfy Beanbag and more of a reading/library area would be cool with some shelves she can access herself. A rug too would break it up.

Blackmagicqueen · 23/03/2022 12:49

With acouple of cushions to make it cosy too, also maybe a small chest of drawers.

OhWifey · 23/03/2022 12:50

Books she can reach. The colours of the books will really add interest I think

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2022 12:50

I think some curtains would help, and some cushions o the little bench seat. It seems a bit hard at the moment thought it is very pretty

Blackmagicqueen · 23/03/2022 12:51

Library shelves with boxes on show on bottom where she can get her toys out would be cool, my dc has one with library books on top and toys in bottom he can reach himself.

CoutureBakes · 23/03/2022 12:52

It's lovely...I would just add a small but interesting rug

lottie222 · 23/03/2022 12:54

A chest of drawers? And a comfy chair! We still have a lovely big armchair in my sons room and he's 4 as it's just lovely to sit and read. It's a bit one dimensional, maybe a rug and some more colours.

unravioling · 23/03/2022 12:56

Books

Some pictures on the wall

Maybe some other colours than pink
