How much do you think this couple spent this year?

  • 2 weeks long haul holiday at Easter
  • 1 week European sun holiday in May
  • 2 week European holiday this summer
  • 1 week U.K. break this summer
  • 1 U.K. city break long weekend

For 2 adults. Travelling comfortably in a nice standard of accommodation, not budget but not lavish either. So eating out at nice enough places but not champagne & oysters for every meal!

How much do you think this has all cost in total?!

less than they thought so they wanted to brag about it anonymously?

Twice as much as anybody with half a brain?

30k

Constantlyeyerolling · 16/08/2024 19:58

8k?

Constantlyeyerolling · 16/08/2024 20:03

4K for a nice 2wk break in Mexico

1-1200k for 1wk European out of school hols
2-£2500k 2wk European school hols All inc
week uk in school hols £800 +
uk wkend break hotel £200??

a lot cheaper if they don’t go all inclusive in up front costs. It completely depends on the standard of places they go?

£10- £15 at a guess but could be more.

It's got to be more than fifteen quid. Think about it.

This looks pretty similar what we did pre-covid, except we stayed in 5*s and travelled first class.

Our total spend was usually around £50k, so I'd price your itinerary at around £20k.

How did you do that so cheap, we went away less than that, and outside school hols, and spent more.

UnfriendMe · 16/08/2024 20:11

EllyGi · 16/08/2024 17:44

Same! Lol ... that's at least 30 days holiday! Extravagant stuff :D

Or they have a policy where they can work from anywhere for a period of time. We get 6 weeks a year where we can work flexible hours from any country of choice on top of 30 days annual leave. My partner gets the same, not that unusual.

TiramisuTastesDreamy · 16/08/2024 20:18

When do we get to find out 😂

Summertimelooooonghols · 16/08/2024 20:20

The cost of their dignity because travel was in exchange with an appearance on love island

Otterhound · 16/08/2024 20:23

Fucking stupid post

£5000-£5,000,000

the latter number being perfectly possible

BananaLambo · 16/08/2024 20:27

Ryanair flights and ‘quirky’ airb’n’bs in odd/cheap locations? You could probably do it for £5 or £6k. 5 star hotels hotels in places like Barbados and Monaco? £80k

BitOutOfPractice · 16/08/2024 20:31

Is it you? Someone you’re concerned with! Just nosy?

id say £15-20k plus depending on spends

elliejjtiny · 16/08/2024 20:32

I reckon about £10k but as you have asked for guesses I think it's going to be one of those people who only spent £10 because they used Tesco Clubcard vouchers and vouchers from the sun newspaper.

Chewbecca · 16/08/2024 20:32
  • 2 weeks long haul holiday at Easter 1.5 flight, 3 hotel, 3 spends = 7.5
  • 1 week European sun holiday in May .6 flight, 1.5 hotel, 1.5 spend = 3.6
  • 2 week European holiday this summer 5k
  • 1 week U.K. break this summer 3k
  • 1 U.K. city break long weekend .8

total 7.5+3.6+5+3+.8=£19.9k.

let’s say £20,000

HiFillyJonk · 16/08/2024 20:43

12k

Dygger · 16/08/2024 20:43

Impossible to say. The long haul might have been to Australia (expensive) or Sri Lanka or Vietnam (cheap). European holidays might have been packages to Portugal or Romania (cheap) or bespoke Switzerland/ south of France (expensive). I guess with a lot of research and planning and using offers you might be able to do the cheap version for £10k for two people. But the more expensive places could end up costing twice that.

Three kidneys

Which of the couple got the raw deal and lost both?!

NewtoDerbys · 16/08/2024 20:53

All inclusive Maldives in a water villa or 3* b and b in Dubai?

Majorca 3 or Croatia 5

So many variables

ExhaustedHousewife · 16/08/2024 20:53

Oh God are you going to say they're benefit claimers 😂

GrumpyMiddleAgedCow · 16/08/2024 20:54

Well unless you can tell me they done it cheap as chips and we could all do the same all I have to say is why? 😂😂

SabbatWheel · 16/08/2024 21:00

8K

Imbusytodaysorry · 16/08/2024 21:05

Why??

Dibbydoos · 16/08/2024 21:05

If they own timeshare, like me £150 per week plus £400 per annum plus travel and 5 weeks of airport parking at £70 per week.

I'd estimate £1450 for accomodation, £3000 for flights £150 for road travel, £490 parking = c£5k

If they don't and get no perks around £14k.

RosieLeaLovesTea · 16/08/2024 21:07

£17,000.
