Where is the most overrated holiday destination you’ve been?

Where have you been on holiday and thought “wow, that was a waste of my time and money”.

Mine was travelling to a fairly remote tropical island where people were supposed to be so friendly. Unfortunately we found the people we interacted with in the hotels and restaurants to be anything but nice. It piddled down with rain and then we almost got scammed.

Mauritius. Kept thinking can get white sand and blue sea in Greece!

Paris.
Dirty, run-down, crime ridden and it stinks.

Krakow

Dublin, incredibly expensive and pretty boring. It’s firmly on my been there done that and will not return list.

Bruges.
Brussels is far more interesting.

Barcelona

Paris is a centre of culture and high-end cuisine, so it's not for everyone.

Madeira.... they have this attraction where they push you down a hill in what can only be described as a 90s style wicker patio sofa.... it was just all a bit meh.

Los Angeles for me - so disappointed.

Would be nice if the streets matched and weren’t covered in dogshit then. Rude people, streets covered in shit and rubbish and piss poor customer service.

Paris for reasons mentioned above and Dublin which I just found had no buzz or energy.

Barcelona. I had this really uncomfortable vibe from it, it was far too packed and spread out. Just didn't feel any love at all.

It’s the dog poo, I’ve just never seen so much dog poo in one place.

@Deathbyathousandcats WoW, was in Paris again last weekend - it was amazing, clean, people were so helpful and friendly I actually commented on it. Museums are cheapish and it is all so beautiful. One fo my favourite European cities ! Amazing how we can all have such different views!
