Do you have a drink at the airport if flying early morning or not?
I know lots of people have a pint with their breakfast at spoons.

Yes!

Dogsgottabone · 22/01/2023 15:12

If its a very special trip I might have some champagne with salmon at the champagne and salmon bar. Which as far as I'm concerned is the height of adult luxury.

Pub though? Nope. If no champagne bar then it's Pret for a flat white and a protein pot 😋

Shouldbesleeping1 · 22/01/2023 15:12

Not at breakfast time but I would from midday onwards

Swimmingpoolsally · 22/01/2023 15:13

Yes but I’d not down pints. A glass of two of Prosecco with breakfast yes. Totally

Woeman · 22/01/2023 15:14

I have double brandies, and on the plane. I'm terrified of flying so try and be drunk 😬

Crikeyalmighty · 22/01/2023 15:14

No and I don't drink on planes either unless it's long haul

Rachaelrachael · 22/01/2023 15:15

Always used to before children. Wouldn't dream of it whilst having to deal with a 1 and 3 year old now 😄

AbreathofFrenchair · 22/01/2023 15:16

Yep. A pint about 4am then one on the plane.

Marks the start of the holiday once you've got through security and waiting to board

NormalForNuneaton · 22/01/2023 15:16

No!

Early starts and travelling to the airport for a morning flight always leave me feeling a bit queasy anyway. I like to get up, get ready and have breakfast at my pace so when it's forced and earlier than usual because of a flight I just feel yuk.

Lunchtime onwards I'd consider it but rarely have done TBH.

ManyNameChanges · 22/01/2023 15:18

No
I wouldnt have one with b’fast normally. I’m nit sure why i would have one before flying.

ThePalace · 22/01/2023 15:18

Yes, bubbles at the airport and then see what's on offer on the plane!

kitsuneghost · 22/01/2023 15:18

GrinGrin this made me laugh.

Mumof3cherubs · 22/01/2023 15:18

If travelling for work no, if going on holiday quite possibly if I fancied one.

kitsuneghost · 22/01/2023 15:19

I don't. I get very dehydrated on flights as it is.

TheFairyCaravan · 22/01/2023 15:19

No.

userxx · 22/01/2023 15:19

No, it just gives me a massive headache, even just one wine. I save it for when I get to the hotel 🍷🍷

ThePoshUns · 22/01/2023 15:20

Early morning before 10am, no I couldn't face it that early. Late morning onwards I would though.

FrostieBoabby · 22/01/2023 15:21

I wouldn't at the airport unless it was a special trip and I had managed to get a good deal on lounge access. That would only be in rare occasions like big birthday, special anniversary type holidays so a couple of times per decade!

I always seem to end up dehydrated on flights so tend to stick to boring old water!

PollyAmour · 22/01/2023 15:21

Absolutely. It's all part of the airport ritual. Check in, go through security, grab a pint.

Laughing quietly at the stealthboast about a glass of champagne in the BA lounge though - bet they go to the Spoons nearest the airport for a full English and a pint of Ruddles Grin

SagittariusDwarf · 22/01/2023 15:21

Yes, a bottle of champagne with husband, or prosecco/cocktails if going away with friends, regardless of flight time.

stopbeeping · 22/01/2023 15:22

We used to and washed it down with diazepam but now we have three kids
I flew with just one of them the other month and I sat in the lounge and had champagne on the way out but I had to drive on way home so I couldn't

It was lovely on the way out

trailrunner85 · 22/01/2023 15:22

No. Drinking at breakfast would make me feel like crap by lunchtime; doubly so when combined with flying as I'd be more dehydrated. And I wouldn't want to start my holiday feeling shite.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 22/01/2023 15:22

I'm terrified of flying so I'd always get a drink in me. I drink plenty of mineral water to balance it out though.

spuddel · 22/01/2023 15:22

I couldn't do it at breakfast. Actually watching people drink prosecco at breakfast in Spanish hotels makes me feel ill. I may have a glass or two if it's just me and DH and the flight is afternoon. I prefer to wait until Ive arrived and the cases are in the hotel room though.

Hoppinggreen · 22/01/2023 15:23

No, I don’t drink alcohol for breakfast normally so why would I at the airport?
