Just wondering what people are booking and at what price? If anyones found any real bargains!

Today I have booked..

10 nights in the Balearic Islands.
hotel is beach front and it includes bed and breakfast at £1,845
flights for 2 adult, 2 children is £855 via easyJet.
Going in July 2 days before schools break up so flights were still a bit high but not as much as a few days later.
so approx 2.7K

I didn’t think it was too bad as a school mum told me they are paying 6k to go to Spain next year! They have 1 extra child though!

Would love to book something really cheap in aug but I doubt that will happen!

DC at high school so can't go away in term time - make the most of it if you can!

RagzRebooted · 02/11/2022 21:17

5 nights in Budapest in the Easter holidays. 2 bedroom apartment in a hotel with breakfast, about £500. Flights for 5 of us, again around £500 (have had flights booked since before covid and kept having to move them!) and then £500-£1000 needed for eating out and travelling/attractions.
Thought that was pretty cheap but yours sounds like it works out less per person per day!

FreakyFrie · 02/11/2022 21:18

My kids are in school now which is why we are only leaving 2 days before term breaks up for the 6 weeks school holidays. They will only miss the thur/Fri of the last week which is only activities week anyway.

I've just spent £18k on a touring caravan. I'm planning on 4/5 UK holidays ranging from 7 nights to 2 night. Some a couple of hours away some a lot longer drives. Budget around £2k for the lot including spends.

abblie · 02/11/2022 21:19

5 adults 1 child all inclusive in calpe £3200 4 star hotel

NCFT0922 · 02/11/2022 21:19

That’s good for July!
We’ve paid £8.5k for AI in Mexico for Easter & 6k on flights and a villa for the summer. Cheapest one for us next year is 5.5k for Cape Verde in October for a week AI.

There are 6 of us and these are in the school holidays.

I haven’t worked out per person per day. 😅

mine doesn’t include any spending money though! No idea what we will spend there as I don’t like having to penny watch on holiday so normally take more then needed.

£115 Monday to Friday at Butlins. Term time. I can't afford £650 for the following week.

Plus a camping trip of about £80.

NCFT0922 · 02/11/2022 21:21

@FreakyFrie probably depends which island and which resort for spending money.

I’d love to do that when mine are a bit older!

We budget around £20K+ for a 2 week road trip in Eastern Canada. My 50th birthday present and DD's 16th birthday/GSCE survival present.

I have knee problems so need business class flights and we really want to enjoy ourselves.

PinotPony · 02/11/2022 21:28

All inclusive at a TUI Blue resort in Turkey at Easter 7 nights 2 adults 2 kids £4200

ThatsNiceEh · 02/11/2022 21:35

We haven't actually booked it yet - but will be soing it soon.

I've been doing a lot of research/general shoping around & the nicest one (within budget too) I've found is in Greece, £1800 for x2 adults x2 children (both under 3) half board, for 10 days. Sensible flight and transfer times.
Lovely smallish family run place, nice pool, stuff for kids, a few mins walk from a sandy beach and just a 15 min walk away, you are in the old town with marina, restaurants, shops, supermarket etc.

It's in June, term time, which makes everything abit cheaper.

Indoctro · 02/11/2022 21:40

£1000 for 4 flights to Slovenia ...haven't booked accommodation or car hire yet.

FreakyFrie · 02/11/2022 21:41

@ThatsNiceEh - That sounds like a good price. I was looking at Greece also but for some reason my daughter really wanted to go to Spain 😂

Just booked for October holidays to Salou 2 adults and 2 kids all inclusive, upgraded to a suite and booked our seats for £2800

MissyB1 · 02/11/2022 21:50

Haven’t quite finished booking it all yet as it’s complicated! Going to South Africa in Easter holidays. Flying to Durban to see In-laws for a week, then fly to Cape Town for a week. Whole trip will probably cost between 5-6k for 3 of us.

Fedupofballs · 02/11/2022 22:01

£4,000 plus 38,000 avios, 2 adults, 2 teens 11 nights in central crete (Zaros) half board 2 bedroom cottage with private pool, including car hire. We’re going in august school holidays.

usernotfound0000 · 02/11/2022 22:05

May half term to Lake Garda about £2200 for 4 of us, which I didn't think was bad. We went a few years ago term time with one less child and didn't pay much less, so think we have a good deal.
Haven't booked summer yet but pricing up a week at Duinrell and few days at Efteling. Looking to be around £3500 for both plus the ferry.

gogohmm · 02/11/2022 22:08

No idea exactly as not a package but so far:
£162 crossing to Caen plus cabin 1 way, b&b in france is £120 including breakfast and evening meal, mates rates, b&b in Pyrenees is £150 inclusive of dinner and breakfast, ferry to Mallorca is £140 ret approx, not booked yet. Ferry Santander to Portsmouth is £560. Hotel in Mallorca looks like will be £890 ai so just a hotel in Madrid to find

gogohmm · 02/11/2022 22:09

Ps term time, motorcycle so cheaper on ferry

LibbyL92 · 02/11/2022 22:10

I've booked a couple

Feb half term Barcelona 4 nights flights and hotel with breakfast £300pp

May half term 5 nights Majorca all inclusive £760pp (package)

end of July Antalya 7 nights all inclusive £1275pp (package)

August Egypt 7 nights all inclusive
£1300pp

I don’t have any children so only need to pay for myself. Teacher at a school so all in school holidays!

LadyRoughDiamond · 02/11/2022 22:14

We’re going long-haul at Easter and so would like to do something in the UK in the summer holidays …but can’t believe how expensive UK holidays are! Just seen what I can only describe as a shed in Pembrokeshire for £900 a week!?! I think we’ll take a look at what Brittany Ferries have when they release their 2023 holidays in a month or so.

OldTinHat · 02/11/2022 22:15

£250 for a four night half board city break to Liverpool in May, two day excursions and all travel included.

MissAmbrosia · 02/11/2022 22:22

So far, about 3k for 7 nights Ischia, 3 nights Naples with flights in May. Self catering. Will probably do something similar for September. We had flights cancelled to Puglia this year so might rebook that.
