Just wondering what people are booking and at what price? If anyones found any real bargains!

Today I have booked..

10 nights in the Balearic Islands.
hotel is beach front and it includes bed and breakfast at £1,845
flights for 2 adult, 2 children is £855 via easyJet.
Going in July 2 days before schools break up so flights were still a bit high but not as much as a few days later.
so approx 2.7K

I didn’t think it was too bad as a school mum told me they are paying 6k to go to Spain next year! They have 1 extra child though!

Would love to book something really cheap in aug but I doubt that will happen!

Nothing yet! We were going to do ten days in Greece next June with my brother and sister in law but SIL is now pregnant and due in June so they won't be able to come. I'll have to have a rethink!

I wish I could afford to go on lots of holidays every year! Sounds amazing :D

Weesweetiewife · 02/11/2022 23:38

Book direct for cheap hotel and flights. Use skyscanner for flights and tripadvisor for reviews then book on hotel website. We paid £300 each for August self catering to Corfu from Edinburgh for 7 nights 3 star beachfront.
250 for similar portugal 4 star 7 nights in October. We can afford to holiday several times per year by doing this

This thread is in poor taste given several other current threads where people are having to choose between eating or heating.

Those of you with multiple holidays booked are so very fortunate.

I feel utterly depressed reading this thread ☹️

Don’t read the holidays board then!

we’re still getting through the covid ones. We have a big holiday over Easter and then need to take it easy.
So just have a week in France over the summer in a SC, if you book on a french website, they’re usually cheaper.
we usually have a extended family holiday every two years, but CP is too expensive this year sadly.

AnnieSnap · 03/11/2022 00:06

Makes me slightly cringe to say, but £20,000 with Avios (air miles) international flights, so it just includes the tax on those, not the cost of the flights themselves. It’s a special, bucket list one. Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls. Cape Town, then the Kruger with very high speck accommodation for most if it and internal flights within Africa.

Themadcatparade · 03/11/2022 00:14

£1,200ish for 4 nights in Reykjavik, some sight seeing tours of Iceland included for two of us next year.

thats probably the most I’ve ever spent on a holiday tbh, we are away every other weekend so never short of holidays or spontaneous trips. A few hundred a time for a couple of Uk Haven/park dean weekend holidays for the kids to enjoy through out the year but these are always booked on a whim!

DillDanding · 03/11/2022 00:21

Long haul in Feb for 10 nights.

It’s an expensive holiday anyway (£>7k), but it’s a lot more than we paid for the same holiday in Feb this year. Prices have really gone up.

MyKitchenRules · 03/11/2022 00:25

Can I ask how u all pay? Not meaning the total as its out of my budget but I always wonder do people put 5k on a credit card and then pay it off or do u save then pay a bulk or do u have a payment schedule with the holiday of a few hundred each month.

soupmaker · 03/11/2022 00:26

Have booked flights to Croatia at start of the school holidays. £800 for 2 adults, 2 kids. Still to book accommodation which is looking like £2,000 for 10 nights. Plus car hire if £500. Will need another £1.500 for spending. So about £5k for 10 days.

QueenWenceslas · 03/11/2022 00:44

DH and I are in banking, we spend our bonuses on holidays.

feindVicarInATutu · 03/11/2022 00:45

What's a "holiday " ? I'm unfamiliar with this concept 😂

MinnieMountain · 03/11/2022 05:52

£650 for a flat in the south of France in May half term. The trains will probably be around £450.
A week at my DF’s in Pembrokeshire in August, so only train fares of £150.

A mixture. Never credit though. One of mine I paid the deposit then used the payment schedule with Jet2 paying a monthly payment. The other isn't booked yet but have been putting money aside since the summer so we will have most of it when the time comes to book.

We put money each month into a separate account and then when an holiday is due pay it from that!

Turkey in May half term. All inclusive, about £2100 for 2 adults and 2 teens.

Really?? This is the holiday section of MN. I’m not sure what else you were expecting to find here except people discussing holidays.

About £3.5k for 2 week’s AI at a 5* in turkey summer hols. Bought fancy seats on the plane and am quivering with excitement at the thought of someone asking us to move so they can sit together.

@MyKitchenRules i jumped on a discount may this year with TUI and have been paying monthly. It means when the time comes all we'll need is a bit of spending money for assorted shite in the resort.

green82 · 03/11/2022 07:47

Florida (Orlando) family of 4, 2 weeks, £11,000. Rebooked From 2020 when we had higher grade of hotels and it was £8,000 Angry (all in)

green82 · 03/11/2022 07:51

We have a set amount we put in a holiday savings account each month, I know how much we'll have saved each year, I book a holiday within the budget, then when the payment is due we have the money already in savings to use.

Feelinglikeachange22 · 03/11/2022 07:58

£390 for 7ndays Dalmatian Coast, Croatia in May. That's just a caravan so will need to book travel, have money for food etc. With Eurocamp.
Never been to Croatia before! Anyone been?

I pay the flights and any transfers outright from our savings and then choose the 'pay on arrival' option for the accommodation in case I change my mind about where to stay beforehand. Then I just save up spending money.

RosieLemonadeAndSugar · 03/11/2022 08:09

Cyprus next august £8k. That is for 6 of us though.

itsgettingweird · 03/11/2022 08:11

I week CP in a SC apartment.

Me and ds.

£1050 for the week including choosing the apartment we are staying in.

Probably about £50 petrol there and back.

There'll be no extra costs because we'd eat at home anyway!

I've just spent £18k on a touring caravan. I'm planning on 4/5 UK holidays ranging from 7 nights to 2 night. Some a couple of hours away some a lot longer drives. Budget around £2k for the lot including spends.

That sounds nice, we also have a touring caravan and are going on several UK holidays next year, probably about £2k worth over the year. Enjoy your new caravan.
