Just wondering what people are booking and at what price? If anyones found any real bargains!

Today I have booked..

10 nights in the Balearic Islands.
hotel is beach front and it includes bed and breakfast at £1,845
flights for 2 adult, 2 children is £855 via easyJet.
Going in July 2 days before schools break up so flights were still a bit high but not as much as a few days later.
so approx 2.7K

I didn’t think it was too bad as a school mum told me they are paying 6k to go to Spain next year! They have 1 extra child though!

Would love to book something really cheap in aug but I doubt that will happen!

We’ve only got a week to the fjords booked thus far. That will be around £7,000 all in for two of us. We’ll also use our shared boat a couple of times - about £3,000 for a fortnight including shuttle, hotel each way, food shop and fuel. Not sure what else yet. A couple of city breaks with friends, a couple of weekends with the children.

QuietYou · 02/11/2022 22:24

I'm nowhere near organised enough to have booked anything yet. I think the earliest I've booked a holiday was 5 weeks before. I thought I was doing well sending DH the school holiday dates!

IScreamAtMichaelangelos · 02/11/2022 22:25

We spent 2300 on our holiday this year (August; hotel only, flights covered by voucher) and I was aghast at that 😂 I can't imagine any of these!

Nothing so far, but will probably stay in the UK and go camping or something. Ideally not more than £1000 for the week.

Redambergreenforgo · 02/11/2022 22:29

£2000 all inclusive 2 adults, 2 teens 4 star majorca for Easter holidays.

Rockingcloggs · 02/11/2022 22:31

February - Back to back RCL cruise Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand first half and then Vietnam and Bangkok second half - 2 adults and 1 child - £6083.

July - P&O cruise 2 adults 1 child - to the med - £2600.

Rockingcloggs · 02/11/2022 22:32

We've got a touring caravan permanently sited in the Peak District too which is £2100 for the season so we'll use that for the weekends and shorter breaks.

NewNameNov · 02/11/2022 22:35

Not a standard holiday. It's a once in a decade one and 2 years delayed due to Covid.

15 nights in Florida split between Universal 4 nights premier hotel club level, and 11 nights Disney world with dining credit.

Just over £15k with premium economy flights.

Having a week in the Balearics in the summer - that'll be about £1500.

ComeonoverValerie · 02/11/2022 22:39

Center parcs (4 nights) February half term £1279.00

Easter holidays, 7 nights £1,300

Summer holidays, 14 nights in a cottage in UK £3k.

ExplodingCarrots · 02/11/2022 22:42

We had a very similar holiday this year (14 nights in Disney and 9 in universal) which is why we have had to book much cheaper for next year as we also want to gut and redecorate our bedroom😅

I’d love to visit Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. We have discussed that as our next ‘big’ holiday.

Planning Australia and New Zealand.
Also Iceland.

PenguinLove1 · 02/11/2022 22:50

4.2k on 14 night cruise for 3 - got a bargain by rebooking with free third person a year in advance, should have been over 6k

City break for 6 days for 2 - 2.5k plus plenty spending money too

Ideally looking at a DLP trip for 4 days in October, would expect around 2k ish

Titsywoo · 02/11/2022 22:52

Paid £7k for a week in a 5 star hotel in Tenerife (inc flights). Teens are now classed as adults so we upgraded to adult only section and needed 3 rooms. We rarely go abroad and they will have finished gcses and alevels next summer so we are splashing out a bit.

whiteroseredrose · 02/11/2022 22:57

Hoping to do a 'big' holiday this year for our 25th wedding anniversary. We fancy the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.

I costed it for December this year and it would have been about £6-7,000 for 4 adults. That was for flights to Cancun, hotels and assorted private drivers for moving between locations. Food and entrance fees would be on top.

We are hoping to actually go this December but it will undoubtedly be more with the strong dollar.

Loosingitall · 02/11/2022 22:58

2 weeks over may half term, all inclusive resort in Egypt for 2a 2c for £2700 inc flights. We’ve stayed at the same place before and loved it so couldn’t believe when it came in at that price.

whiteroseredrose · 02/11/2022 23:00

Oh. And 4 nights in Krakow with DH which is about £750 for flights and accommodation as we splashed out on overhead cases, not just under seat ones!

TenoringBehind · 02/11/2022 23:04

We’ve already decided that we don’t enjoy holidays enough to justify the expense. If something has to give in the current climate it will be that.

2 weeks In France last year cost about £4000.

Iusedtoplaytherecorder · 02/11/2022 23:16

2023 booked so far, family of 4:

£10k - 2 weeks in Thailand in Feb, for flights, accommodation & food, plus spending money.

£4k - 1 week in Europe for May half term, ultimate all inclusive so shouldn't need to spend any more

£3k approx for August 2 week road trip around France. Not booked yet but planning on Centre parcs and the like.

£3k - 1 week in Europe, October half term. Same as May half term.

£8k - 1 week skiiing in December.

That is a lot when it's written down in one place!! I would say this is an exceptional year - combination of family occasions, postponed holidays and a big birthday. Usually we'd do one winter long haul and one summer trip abroad with a few long weekends throughout the year.

Not exactly a bargain, but I do see it as good value for money, all things considered. We can afford it and see it as keeping the economy going so we will all enjoy it!

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 02/11/2022 23:21

£7,000

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 02/11/2022 23:23

£3400 for 4 adults and 2 children for a private villa with own pool in Lanzarote for 14 nights including flights and car hire. End of April.

£1600 for 2 adults and 2 children, 10 nights in Spain in a beach side resort with flights. Early September.

All DC are under 3 so we have no school restrictions at the moment.

This thread is in poor taste given several other current threads where people are having to choose between eating or heating.

Those of you with multiple holidays booked are so very fortunate.

You are aware that this is the holidays board?

Waystation · 02/11/2022 23:33

March, June and September - Spain for two adults - flights and car hire £500 each trip - we have an apartment so no other cost.

May - Florida for three adults approx 12k plus spending money.

August - France - staying with friends so only the cost of the train (not booked yet)

QueenWenceslas · 02/11/2022 23:34

Not booked yet, but think we are booking a self catering flights/apartment package in Ibiza for August which is £4,500 and the same sort of package for 9 nights in the canaries, will be approx £3,500. Spends on top for 2 adults and 2 kids.
