Easyjet flights disappeared from schedule

Hi there
Can someone advise if I should be worried about my easyjet flights to Pisa in August disappearing from the schedule? Easyjet haven't contacted me to let me know that the flights will be cancelled. It looks like they've reduced the schedule to one flight on Saturdays and one on Sundays. I'd be happy to change my flights (which are currently booked for Friday and Monday) but without easyjet telling me that I can be moved to another flight, I would have to pay a significant fare increase if I changed now? What do I do? I can't get through on the phone.

If they have changed your flights then I would have thought they’d have been in contact? I’ve had numerous emails from them offering flight changes at no extra cost so if they have moved them I think it would be unlikely you’d have been charged more?

Looks like they have done this on lots of their routes, possibly running a reduced schedule when they return as demand will be less. I expect you will be contacted soon.

That's interesting, I just went in to check the same for myself, and noted several flights are showing 'sold out' which were available a couple of days ago, and which I doubt could be sold out, so perhaps that indicates those are ones they're planning to get rid of...

Which I see includes my return flight from Portugal for our July break. So this will be interesting!!

Yes they appear "sold out" on my phone. I think they've been axed and they haven't told us yet. 😭

What I don't know is whether by doing so, they can just transfer me onto another flight that day. Or whether this breaches the contract so that the entire booking is now invalid and I can get a refund... I guess the coming days will tell as they'll surely have to start informing people.

When my flights were cancelled in March and may they disappeared from the booking system and few later they told me about the cancellation.

Same thing happened to my parents that were meant to fly to visit me

Report
EasterIssland · 02/06/2020 22:03

They were saying sold out for a few days. My parents could even pay to add suitcase or choose a seat Angry

Btw I believe that they continue not charging for changing flights. The only thing is that if the new flights are more expensive you’ll have to pay the difference (even if they have cancelled your flights. It’s what happened to my parents )

Can anyone tell me where do you look to see if the flights have disappeared? I’ve had no communication from easyJet & if I go in manage booking on the app the flight is still showing there. Due to fly in July & could do to know if it’s likely to go ahead or not

Try to search for your flights. If they're not available or sold out, it's probably bad news

Does anyone know realistically how likely it is to get a refund if the flights are cancelled? I'm on a tight budget and not willing to pay more if there's a fare increase.
I feel a bit conned actually. I only booked on Saturday!

@EasterIssland Thanks, that's exactly the situation I am in. I can manage my original return flight as if it's running, but it's not there if I search for it when I click 'book'. A later flight is however.

@NotABeliever I thought think link was useful that I found last night: www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/holiday-cancellations-and-compensation/if-your-flights-delayed-or-cancelled/

Ultimately from what I read, if they move the time of the original flight within 5 hours, you have little recourse, and more than 5 hours some more options. If they try to move you to a flight with a new code that counts s a cancellation so you have more options.

I think they do have free flight changes still right now though.

Interesting.. my flight to Crete the end of July is showing N/A on the outbound and return there is one flight late in the evening but mine is not there.

So I expect they have trimmed the schedule. I didn't really want to go but was worried if the flight was going and we decided not to fly then we would lose our money.

I expect we will hear but probably not yet!

Hopefully we can rebook for next year.

@No1HolidayPlanner Same here. I haven't left the house since 23 March, and am only now taking my DD to school. The thought of getting on an aeroplane isn't filling me with excitement... I'd happily move my flights to next year if that becomes an option with these schedule changes, rather than refund. We travel regularly with Easyjet and I don't actually want them to go under!

Mustbe... yes I'm happy to just rebook.. we fly regularly with them and certainly don't want them to collapse.

I love my holidays Smile.. but don't want to fly until next year.

Hope all works out ok for you.

My flights at end of June are showing as N/A on the app, but sold out on the website via computer browser. No idea if that means they're going to be cancelled or it's just they don't want to sell more tickets due to reducing capacity for social distancing.

I if the are going to cancel I wish they'd hurry up. I can't make a decision on moving accommodation or anything until they do. I would happily re-book for next summer now, but unfortunately they won't be releasing those dates until after i am due to travel.

My flights in August are also showing as sold out. Easyjet have said that they are only operating about a third of the flights this summer so these could be the ones they cancel or it could just mean that they haven't decided which ones to cancel and some flights may reappear, who knows. I would like to transfer my august flight to next august but they arent releasing them until september i think.

If they new flights cost the same, it wouldn't be an issue to go a day or two earlier or come back at a different time. It's the fact there might be a fare increase that worried me. I paid £120 return flights on Saturday and now, with the available flights around those fate, it would cost an extra £200!

@NotABeliever It might be worth having a look at the website on a laptop - it's a bit easier to view. I had a look earlier and went into Manage Bookings, then Change Flight to see what the prices/availability was. I could move both my early July flights to another other flights with no fare difference. A couple of days ago when I had done this, I would have had to be approx £80 to move to a different date/time around when I am travelling.

Also, if anyone wants to see current (shaved) timetable, there is a Flight Timetables section on the actual website (it's a bit tricky to view on the mobile version). There's a lot of clicking to do to check each leg of your journey, but you can filter down to month and day and it'll show you remaining flights left.

There is an offer TIL Friday where flights are £25 each or something like that TIL October

@MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately they seem to have reduced the flights to my destination to one on Saturdays and one on Sundays from 2 flights every day of the week. The remaining flights are very expensive at the moment.

Ooh mind if I jump on - I’m tempted to book a few days in Portugal for the 13 July but a bit nervous. I see flight and hotel availability but what does everyone think will be open? Just 3/4 days self catering as I’ve had the 2020 from hell without Covid 19 🙄 i.e. restaurants, the swimming pool... or any other destinations that might be worth looking at?
