Easyjet flights disappeared from schedule

Hi there
Can someone advise if I should be worried about my easyjet flights to Pisa in August disappearing from the schedule? Easyjet haven't contacted me to let me know that the flights will be cancelled. It looks like they've reduced the schedule to one flight on Saturdays and one on Sundays. I'd be happy to change my flights (which are currently booked for Friday and Monday) but without easyjet telling me that I can be moved to another flight, I would have to pay a significant fare increase if I changed now? What do I do? I can't get through on the phone.

That's brilliant @APeakyBlinder . Did you use a specific name for your email.
I am not sure if we will be offered different days ..

APeakyBlinder · 13/07/2020 18:24

@AnneKipanki I followed the instructions on the attached pic and said in the message that I needed a refund for both outbound and the return as the return was not needed if the outbound was cancelled, also said that vouchers and alternative dates were unacceptable to me- much more blunt than my usual style of communication but it obv worked! Good luck! Smile

Thanks very much for getting back so quickly @APeakyBlinder

I'm due to fly to Bristol next week and it looks the flights are still going ahead but it made me wonder as I'm in the flight path and haven't seen a plane for months

My flights to Bilbao in early June were cancelled I’m still dithering as to whether I should request refund now or try and change (To summer 2021) as and when I can rebook (they are only currently selling flights to end May 2021). I think I might get a better deal if I try and nab new flights as soon as the become available.
Also the process for changing seems complicated. Seems easier to request a refund then rebook unless I am missing something?

solfer · 14/07/2020 15:56

So it appears I'm in the same boat.. Just went to compare how the prices have changed since I booked flights to Venice 18th Aug, and the flight time no longer appears as one that's bookable. How flipping annoying! So need to wait to wait to hear from Easyjet I guess...

AnneKipanki · 14/07/2020 16:00

Yes @solfer . I think they give you 21 days notice .

langkaw · 14/07/2020 22:12

@solfer my flight disappeared from the schedule and they've just cancelled 3 weeks before the flight.

solfer · 15/07/2020 06:57

Thanks both. I've changed my booking in expectation of this being cancelled, so took advantage of the 'free to change' option and have got similar flight times, but from Luton instead of Gatwick... Until they cancel this one!! Now I've got a new bugbear.. Despite having paid for seats on my original flight, they've only transferred my outbound seats, and have auto allocated seats on the return flight. And the figures in the invoice make no sense whatsoever! Looks like I'll be on the phone a few hours today trying to get through 😩

solfer · 15/07/2020 11:18

Got through after 2hrs 30mins...! Seat bookings were 'lost' during the change, so they reinstated them without any fuss. Now keeping fingers crossed the flight isn't cancelled 🤞

Had refund to credit card yesterday from EasyJet! This was for flights leaving UK at the end of June.
Needless to say , we have not had a refund from RYANAIR for flights that were in April.

aquamarine1 · 23/07/2020 09:16

Just had my refund for flights in mid-July. Really painless process to be honest.

AnneKipanki · 23/07/2020 10:36

Just had my next flights cancelled too .
No holidays this year.

sansou · 23/07/2020 12:01

My flight out was supposed to be tomorrow. EasyJet cancelled it a few weeks ago and I emailed [email protected] for a refund straightaway which was credited back onto my card within 2 weeks. Happy with that!

We’ve recently returned from a glamping break which was perfect for a socially distanced holiday. Small site with only a handful of pimped up safari tents on a 20 acre site. Not a normal break since we stayed within the boundaries of the farm and took all our food with us. A welcome change of scenery nonetheless although we didn’t explore the local area which we would normally do. I do miss eating out - we’ve had the odd takeaway but that’s it. Have to get used to it I guess.

whataboutbob · 23/07/2020 14:36

Hi guys- can I just check, as a relative should be coming to visit us from FRance in the 2nd week of August- if flights are going to be cancelled do easyJet always notify you in advance, or is there a risk you just turn up at the airport and the flight’s been cancelled?

AnneKipanki · 23/07/2020 14:56

Usually 21 days in advance .
Although we were notified last night of. a cancellation for 19/8 .
One way to check is to look at the flights on their website and see if you can buy any ( but not obviously ).

Jocasta2018 · 23/07/2020 14:59

I booked my EasyJet flight (a midday flight) on the 12th July.
On 17th July I got an email telling me that my seat had been changed.
When I went onto the app to check-in etc, the flight had been changed to the evening departure and the midday flight Id booked no longer existed!
After 2.5 hrs on hold, I got through to EasyJet & they told me that LGW no longer had the midday slot so we'd all been moved onto the later flight.
I did say that the midday flight had been twice as expensive as the evening departure but apparently I could only get the difference back if I cancelled & rebooked but they advised me the evening flight was full.
I have now also booked a flight with a different carrier from the same airport on the same day so hopefully I should get home eventually!
Oh and I got an email yesterday (22nd July) telling me my flight had been changed....
Pretty shit really....

whataboutbob · 23/07/2020 18:07

Thanks @AnneKipanki. So far it looks good. Hopefully they won’t cancel close to departure date but I guess you can’t be sure...

Extracurricularfatigue · 25/07/2020 12:31

I’ve just tried emailing esupport as suggested above. EasyJet have cancelled my outbound flight next month but not the inbound, although the whole period is showing flights unavailable so it can only be a matter of time. I used the online form to request an outbound refund but the auto response told me I would have to wait till ‘after the summer’ and I can’t get through on the phone to ask about the inbound flight at all, so I thought it was worth a shot.

We already have a voucher from earlier in the year that arrived so late we couldn’t use it to book the next set of flights so I can’t have another one cluttering up the place! We don’t actually fly enough to spend them.

Fingers crossed and thanks for the tip.

AnneKipanki · 25/07/2020 12:46

Are they on the same booking reference @Extracurricularfatigue ?

Extracurricularfatigue · 26/07/2020 07:27

@AnneKipanki yes, they are, as are two other flights - which are still happening and we would not want to cancel! In the absence of being able to speak to an actual person I’m going to assume they won’t proactively refund flights that aren’t affected by the existing cancellation but I am nervous about that!

Ie we have return flights to get us to and from the place the other flights left from - and we have booked flights with another airline for the second leg. The facilitating flights are now under heavy demand and would cost a fortune to rebook.

Extracurricularfatigue · 26/07/2020 11:27

So I can report magic! In contrast to the online claim form (‘you won’t get your refund until ‘after the summer’’) I have a personal reply to my email from yesterday, with a refund of the return flight within 10 days, and my booking reissued with the remaining flights. Thanks so much. @APeakyBlinder.

AnneKipanki · 26/07/2020 11:38

Good news !

Jeremyironsnothing · 26/07/2020 11:46

I've just changed my August flights to next summer. The only "free" flights were really unsociable hours ie departing 10.30pm, arriving at 1.30pm. Same coming back. The cost of the supplement for the early morning flights was the same as booking again completely from scratch.
I suppose they want to sell next year's flights and make next year's money, whilst honoring the "free" facility to change flights with the unpopular times.
