General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

same here, Franny, all that effort and now I am not trying in the least it flies off.

Sorry for silent absence, things have been stressful. Maybe that is why I have lost more, also the heat. I reached my goal weight of 10 a few weeks ago, then went a fair bit under but have levelled out now, still under ten and am happy with that, less and I look a bit gaunt so I am not 'trying' any more.

Supposed to be going to Latitude but I can't really be bothered. I am not a summer person, in fact I would be happy to skip to autumn having had a nice summer! God I sound cheerful.

Hope you are all well and good luck with your diets.

CoupleofKooks · 14/07/2010 19:04

hello guad, been thinking about you, sorry to hear about stress
what's up? has your work been ok? hope family are all right
autumn is my favourite, i sort of tolerate summer

avi hope ds is a lot better now
is the 2.5 weeks every time now? that must be quite wearing
are you losing much blood each time?

i am going to watch film and eat cake at my friend's house
this is most exciting thing i have done for ages
i am taking ds2 asleep in the buggy, wish me luck he does not wake up at crucial moment (i.e cake halfway to mouth or similar)

OMG twilight OMG
i mean just OMG with knobs on

i have lost another lb this is getting funny now
wonder what it will be on actual weigh in day but so far i think i have lost 5 lb in 2 weeks, without really doing anything
new jeans are falling down
(mind you trousers falling down is kind of endemic for me as am silly shape)

yesterday:

cereal etc fruit raisins milk seeds = 3
cheese rolls
shepherds pie with lentils and sweet potato, cabbage, sweetcorn, carrots = 5
strawberries = 1
chocolate brownie dipper things from M+S

M+S food is just genius (sorry i go on about this a lot), have you seen the "a taste of...." range
it is like a little mezze lunch with small versions of a country's food
eg italy = pasta salad, olives, some kind of marinated veg, plus raisins and seeds
asia = maki rolls, some fish, some other stuff, i forget
anyway it is so cute
the english one is a mini ploughmans with slices of apple, little crackers and things
i want them all

PMT every 17 days oh heck guad

right looking at yesterday's food i did not have any snacks except in the evening - was busy at work and felt hungry most of day
but in general i think something has happened to my metabolism - i am still bfing, inc a fair bit at night
there was all the running stuff
dunno but i just seem to be burning fuel more efficiently

watching twilight probably used up about 1000 calories as well, did i mention twilight?

Good to see you Guad. I hope your stressful times don't involve your brother. Chin up and I hope you enjoy Latitude. Tom Jones is there this year isn't he?

You liked Twilight then Fra?! Glad you got to see it and shovel cake, sounds like it was a good evening

New Moon (2nd film) is good because a lot more of the story is revealed, then Eclipse is even better. I think it is a new Director and you can tell the difference. I am defo Team Jacob.

Your M&S is better than ours I think as it hasn't got anything of what you mentioned. Although from memory the Food Hall in your town is HUGE compared to ours.

I think ds's last few teeth are coming through He (so also we) isn't sleeping well and he's grumpy and has started to bite. Again. At least when these last four teeth are through that's it

banana
olives, cucumber, cherry toms, sugar snap peas and savoury pastry thing.
apple
chilli (packed full of kidney beans, toms, onion and mushrooms) and salad
strawberries and raspberries.

Probably about 11 portions.

Guadalupe · 15/07/2010 19:19

LOLOL at cake interruption

Thanks for kind wishes. Stress a mixture of stuff. Having a brother suffering from psychosis and appearing randomly at windows and in various states has taken its toll and has triggered a bout of anxiety for me along with other stuff.. I seem to have a perma dry mouth, fizzy limbs and periodic whooshings of adrenalin. I think, I'll go and do something really terrifying like put the kettle on and bam, there goes a churning stomach again as if I am about to fly off a cliff. Very annoying.

and then there is the stuff I really need to worry about

I am not going to latitude until saturday as ds1 is going on a school trip to Paris late Friday night. I suppose I must be worried about this too as its his first time away and its for a week and I am trying to ignore all the foreboding signs I see in everything!

Ha ha at twilight. I have never read a series of crap books so quickly, ie, yes they are crap but addictive. I couldn't put them down. I got Boco addicted too. Thought films were a bit pants but enjoyed them. The new one is FUNNY. And am I the only one in the world who thinks Jaspar is the best looking one? Hmm? Soundtrack to new moon is good too.

Oh, and franny, what does the 17 day pmt bit mean?

CoupleofKooks · 15/07/2010 19:19

erm i did quite like twilight, yes
i know it's totally wrong to like Edward, but it is so good to want something soooooo Wrong
and omg his eyes mouth hair omg omg

i can't believe ds has so many teeth lemur! i can't remember how many L has (he's in the garden with dp) but nowhere near the whole lot

these M+S things are spanking new, maybe you will have them too
i am going to get one tomorrow - not many are vegetarian but i will go and admire them all again

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/07/2010 19:47

Oh Guad, that all sounds really tough. Feeling anxious is the pits and often seems like a never ending cycle. I hope things improve for you and your brother sooner rather than later.

I whizzed through the Twilight books at a rate of knots as well. Reading them and enjoying them felt like a dirty secret

Yes I think you are the only one who thinks Jasper is the best looking. His wig is BAD and what is going on with Emmetts pea head?!

DS got his teeth really quickly and easily (only a few broken nights), so I think maybe he's making up for it now!

I was just reading a thread on here about what threads made you realise MN was for you. It mentioned a thread that F&Z started about a game with ds through the window, and I distinctly remember that thread as I was really annoyed that people were being so stupid about it all. I don't think I 'knew' you at the time and it's only now that someone mentioned it that I realise it was your thread - iyswim.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/07/2010 19:48

oh, and lol at admiring the non-veggie food. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that. I often look at a menu and say something like 'if I liked fish I think I'd really like that dish', dh just gives me the look when I say things like that

CoupleofKooks · 15/07/2010 20:35

oh how funny! i remember that thread! ds and i were talking about that game the other day actually
i have wondered about going back to being F&Z and i feel quite ambivalent about it
i think i am harking back to the old days and tbh i hardly know anyone on here and am sure they don't know me
as i have said before, it is dissatisfying on here unless you really put the hours in
ah well

i don't like jasper best where did i say that! it is only edward, so predictable but so swoonworthy

OP posts:
ThePinkOne · 15/07/2010 20:53

What's the game through the window? Don't recognise that one (I do clearly remember the shiney apple at nursery one. I got very cross with everyone for totally MISSING THE POINT !)

Guad the 17 days PMT was to Avi.

I did very good swimming last night and have just done a Tae Bo video. I'm not going to talk about food.

CoupleofKooks · 15/07/2010 21:04

god i crossed posts with you guad and didn't see your message
could not understand what anyone was talking about

that window game is here - loads of veggers on it! did we all know each other then? i remember how irritated i felt by the sniping - well you can tell when you read it

hand rubbing and clay cock also got a mention
i feel nostalgic again

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 15/07/2010 21:07

guad i am very sorry to hear all that
i hope the anxiety vanishes as quickly as it began
not many more unpleasant states to be in IMO
are you getting any help? either with db or with anxiety?

OP posts:
ThePinkOne · 15/07/2010 21:36

Brilliant!! Love the basket game. We used to do that at a friend's house - they had big sash windows.

Guad anxiety sounds pretty crap. (I'm trying to think of a better way to say this cause it sounds like I'm talking about a cold but...) I hope you feel better soon! Sorry. Rubbish with words x

Guadalupe · 15/07/2010 21:55

I am getting some help, yes, thanks. Has been a few years since last episode but I know the ropes.

LOL at cold, maybe I should snort some cider vinegar

jaspar does not have a funny wig, his hair is like that In Real Life and he is the best one. Edward looks like he has been smacked with a spade and Jacob looks about 3 so It's Jaspar for me.

CoupleofKooks · 15/07/2010 22:23

omg smacked with a spade yes
but what a spade

i thought jasper was great - all the cullens looked fab - they made the humans look v dull
i thought bella was ok? it's a lame character but thought the actress did quite well with it
jacob is soooo sweet

OP posts:
ThePinkOne · 15/07/2010 23:23

Everyone is into all this twilight malarkey and I've been left totally behind but think I need to catch up! I did this with Harry Potter - didn't catch on til after book 5 was out! Do I need the vampires in my life?

CoupleofKooks · 16/07/2010 08:23

the books are pretty awful pink but the story is kind of warming and the lead man is rather OMG

3 lb that's fab

pink i got carried away
i went out for 30 mins then though "shall i just keep going?"
i had a stitch for most of it but i just chugged on anyway
dp was at home putting ds1 to sleep, ds2 was asleep but often wakes up, so it was a bit risky
fabulously, ds2 woke up and dp managed to get him back to sleep! without breasts! i have told him this means i can do anything and go anywhere now

ds2 is 2 tomorrow
he is such a pickle
