General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

Hi toot.

I weighed today. It's Wednesday. I am such a free spirit.

I have lost another pound and I felt proud. Lost 16lb altogether.

pointydog · 01/09/2010 19:50

And I met up with the friend who inspired me to lose weight at the weekend and she noticed and was v complimentary.

I bought clothes and realised that I still have a broad back and bigger breasts than I thought I had.

CoupleofKooks · 02/09/2010 09:02

morning chaps
pink yes i did the distance a few times but who knows what would have happened on race day
it just seems like such an anti-climax
i can't see the point of carrying on running at the moment, i am completely demotivated
or maybe i am just knackered!

glad everyone feeling slim and fabulous
i did lose a bit but i presume will go back on now i can eat again

ds1 is losing so many teeth, there is constantly one wobbling or being twizzled revoltingly Shock
the tooth fairy is going to have to take out a loan i think
she woke up at 4.30 this morning in a cold sweat having forgotten to pick up a certain tooth, and had to crash about half asleep writing very tiny notes and stuff Hmm

What a busy tooth fairy!!

I haven't been on here because my diet consists mainly of dirty white carbs and a few apples. I've got all day sickness which is vile and tiring. Baby Lemur is already getting used to sitting down with mummy and reading books in a quiet and calm manner. Bless him. It's his 2nd bithday next week.

I'm going to have to leave this thread Sad as 1. I'm not on a diet and 2. I probably average about 3 portions of f&v a day.

On a high note though, I saw a friend yesterday who I haven't seen for about three months and she commented that I had lost weight - hurrah!

I will keep popping in though as I know I won't be able to stay away Smile

See you around lovely veggers Smile Smile

CoupleofKooks · 05/09/2010 08:27

aw lemur I am sorry you are feeling so dreadful
it must be exhausting looking after ds as well
i remember the dirty white carb stage all too clearly
all i could manage was potatoes with mayonnaise, egg or cheese
i bet everyone is giving you different advice but eating actual whole pieces of crystallised ginger did help me a little
plus sniffing \link{http://www.quinessence.com/products/spearmint_essential_oil-662.htm\spearmint essential oil} really was comforting

i did weigh on monday and have lost a stone in total now since starting thread, but probably put some on today, with a serious breakfast and slab of cake after lunch

good morning, just bumping in case anyone wanted to weigh in tomorrow?
am i right in thinking this thread seems to have run its course for now? or would people still like to continue?

whichever way it is, i wanted to say thank you to people for hanging around and chatting as it has helped me immeasurably
i've lost a stone and feel so much better
started exercising regularly again and am delighted i can now run 5 miles
really nice to spend time with you all, thank you

hi avi, i am happy to keep it going if people are still keen
don't know if my last post sounded like "ok i've done what i want so the rest of you can bugger off" Blush
what i meant to say was, "not many people seem to want to hang out here at the moment so shall i take the hint that it has served its purpose for now?" and then express gratitude for people's support

will try to keep in touch with whoever wants to, anyway (that is harder when no thread running though, isn't it?)

well i will check in as usual anyway
lost 1 stone since thread began (1 stone 4 in total)
would not mind losing another 4 lb or so but am happy like this atm
went on 5 mile run last night, felt fine although hills were a drain
last week ds1 and i did a 2.5 mile fun run together! it was so nice doing it with him
he walked a couple of times but finished it in 26 mins which i thought was fab

hope everyone is doing well, check in if you want to, or i'll take note if people want to fizzle out atm

right chaps, this thread has rested peacefully, undisturbed for over a week now
i shall take this as a sign that we are officially vegged out and that we should adjourn until another time

good luck everyone and hope RL is kind to you

thanks again for the larfs

may we ride again one day (hopefully on a unicycle smoking a big cigar)

xxx
