CoupleofKooks · 21/06/2010 08:45

General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

TF, your job sounds goooooooooood.

Well done on the .8 weight loss Pink

Gawd it's hot here today. Not so much sun, but blimey it's warm.

Committee meeting tonight, no doubt we'll talk about the same things that have been on the agenda since forever and still not get any further forward

CoupleofKooks · 29/06/2010 19:06

OMG i ate a meal and it was a NON PUREED MEAL
it was like great sex
i had 3 plates of it

OP posts:
pointydog · 29/06/2010 19:15

are your gnashers able to chomp again?

Screws and teeth - terribly fascinating combo

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/06/2010 19:22

lol at it being like great sex Glad to hear the mouth is better.

When you listed your Dentist expenses it reminded me how annoyed I get for paying to be hurt. Of course that is a v unreasonable attitude and we're lucky to have dentits blah blah blah, but it feels like a bloody insult doesn't it? And the receptionist always trys to have a long convo with you when you've just had a mouth full of injections.

CoupleofKooks · 29/06/2010 19:27

i want to hear the screws stuff i must admit

i ate pasta with roasted veg - not the crunchiest meal i have ever had but it was goooooooood and didn't hurt much at all

you know i am going to end up having to have this tooth out and then you will NEVER hear the end of it
i will be whining for weeks
and i will probably have put on a stone by next week as i am so delighted to be able to EAT THINGS

pink your .8 made me laugh
have you posh scales too then?

was lovely with the Gnormans
ds2 is in love with them (and vice versa)
he was too little to remember them from before, so i am very happy he knows them now

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/06/2010 20:08

Just. So. Knackered.

Was doing ok food wise today but gave in to the dreaded coke (liquid variety, not powdered). It's the first time I've had a whole can in 5 weeks. It was lovely

Don't know why I'm so tired today, just am.

banana
nectarine
pear
trail mix type stuff
scrambled eggs and toast
oj
chicken fajitas with roasted mushrooms, peppers and onion
can of coke

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/06/2010 20:25

In my rush to confess about the can of coke I forgot to list these:

strawberries
raspberries

It felt like I had a long walk with ds this afternoon as we were gone for about 90 minutes, however as ds was running up and down in a mad fashion for most of it, we probably didn't walk very far at all.

He has learnt to say (well actually shout) 'stop'. He points his finger at you when he says it as well. I don't know where he could have got that from

pointydog · 30/06/2010 20:53

I am tired and have a very sore throat this evening. Which is a bugger.

weetabix and o juice
banana and three mini cadbury heroes things
half baked tater with cheese, 3 meatballs and carrots
4 mini pkts of choco buttons
2 jacobs, houmus, lots cucumber
another mini pkt choc buttons

  1. Not so hot.
CoupleofKooks · 30/06/2010 21:38

pointy was that 5 portions of veg or 5 packets of buttons?
everyone sounds hot and slack
that sounded ruder than i intended

moving on

i had a punnet of strawbs which i reckon was 3
mango and banana and raisins = 2
coleslaw = 1
fruit smoothie thing = 2

8
i am eating loads and craving sugar

my nipples look a bit thrushy
surely not already after 2 days of antibiotics???
they do though, they are pink and a bit peely looking
shite

OP posts:
pointydog · 30/06/2010 22:29

lol - yeah, 5 of each

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/07/2010 12:04

hot and slack is a good description of me. However no coke for me today

Does anyone else lose their appetite when the weather is hot? I don't but you always hear people mentioning that they do

Oh Fra, what a pita. Sometimes if you catch it early enough you can stop it developing if you cut out sugar and yeast. It works for me and for others as well.

CoupleofKooks · 01/07/2010 19:12

"cut out sugar and yeast"
haha ha ha ha ha haaaaa
no i will just let it develop, eat loads of crap then MOAN about it

well i have been sticking my head down my top at every opportunity to have a look
i think it may be just that ds2 has got this sharp old molar and it keeps digging in (not on purpose), then the crack heals - i don't know
it was mostly confined to one side until just now when he fell asleep on the breast then CLAMPED DOWN with a jerk when i moved a bit
aaaarghy arrrgh aargh
i now have 2 slightly fucked up nipples
i have asked dp to put some effort in and start lactating
i am heading for the 6 years mark now and i really think he should start pulling his weight

i am so not an inspiration for vegging
i need a makeover
i am going to start listing again and see if it shames me

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/07/2010 19:13

banana & 1 weetabix
pear
sweet pot falafel, hummus and rocket wrap, with cucumber sticks and cherry toms.
Trail mix
Licked fingers while making rocky road.
Homemade pizza with sweetcorn, onion, pineapple.
Strawberries & raspberries

Probably about 9 portions and a walk to and from toddler group.

Off to Book Group in a mo. We read Beloved. It bored me.

CoupleofKooks · 01/07/2010 19:18

cereal ricemilk seeds raisins strawberries melon = 3

wholemeal roll cheese and pickle, quorn

bite of strawberry cheesecake ice cream

tagliatelle with red pesto, roasted veg, cheese on top, cauliflower, peas, red cabbage = 3

pineapple = 1

actually that is not all bad is it
going to go and raid the graze box - some brazils and giant chocolate buttons, then almonds, cranberries and cherry raisins = 1

an almost respectable 8

the scales said i should stop eating so much crap and run about a bit more though

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 01/07/2010 19:19

LOL at "licked fingers"

will you say it bored you or will you stroke chin and say "ooh, the earthy dialogue"

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 02/07/2010 11:21

I know, Pink, I know I am baaaaad

It is only going to get worse as it's dd1's birthday today and there is much cake

I have frequently asked dh to lactate for me. DD2 doesn't like his hairy inverted nipples though (she has tried lol)

Mmmm I have chocolate covered apricots in my graze box. And pistachios. Omnomnom.

pointydog · 02/07/2010 20:03

OH Pointy, where abouts in France are you off to? I'd like to be swishing around in France

Enjoy the weekend with the IL's Avi, will it be a trial?

I didn't list yesterday, so here it is from memory:

banana
hummus, sugar snap peas (from the garden), cucumber and sweet pot falafel.
pear
veg curry, rice and sag aloo.
Rocky road (it did have apricots and sultanas in it)

That's not great is it? I just couldn't say no to the rocky road though.

I spent last night sitting in the garden with a group of friends, curry, rocky road and wine. It was a great evening.

pointydog · 03/07/2010 19:22

la vendee

CoupleofKooks · 03/07/2010 21:36

puter has been crippled by viruses
had to reformat the whole damn thing
i have rampant thrush (well you could see that one coming)
i did try a bit to cut down lemur but i suppose it has to be drastic and immediate to work? i told my friend i had tried but been a bit crap and she said she did it to the letter, made herself very miserable, and failed to cure her thrush
i felt better after that

lemur i always think your food is just the kind of thing i want to eat
will you come and live here and cook for me
are you veggie? i;ve forgotten
how is dear ds? L is 2 in a couple of weeks, can you believe it!

avi best of luck with ILs
perhaps you are getting more toned but not changing weight? have you noticed a difference in waistbands or anything?
how about some radical exercise?
i wasn't really losing much till i started runnning, then it seemed easy

i have eaten salad! i can eat anything! my tooth is better! hallelujah praise the lord!

ds2 has started saying "X, hooray, HOORAY!!" when something he likes happens
today it was "chocolate, hooray, HOORAY!!!" when he saw the man putting chocolate spread on his crepe at the crepe stall

ds1 has become obsessed with football cards and the MatchAttax game

this was not the wholesome cultural activity i saw myself participating in at weekends when i started a family
i had to sit on the floor and talk about attack points and fiddle around with a piece of paper with Glenn Hoddle on
ds1 beat me as well

hee hee plagued with thrust
avi i was thinking about you
do you want to weigh everything for a day or two and we will work out the calories
the anal part of me would enjoy it
i just thought perhaps you are not cutting down as much as you think you are
but that is very diety, isn't it - i am sure you would rather just eat good food and move around a bit mre

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/07/2010 19:38

Well, who wouldn't say hooray to chocolate spread on their crepe? I bloody love crepes, so simple, but soooooooo delicious.

No I'm not veggie but I don't eat a lot of meat as I'm not a great fan of it.

DS had a great day running around in the sunshine with his cousins today. All the family piled around my m&d's for a bbq and dad had got the paddling pool out, so ds was in heaven. Lots of food and water to splash about in. And most importantly his cousin who dotes on him, it's lovely to see.

However I think we've probably all got wind burn. M&D's garden backs onto a big open field and the wind has been v strong today.

lemon curd on toast
banana
pear
2 corn on the cob (there was a spare one going , however no butter was involved!)
hamburger, salad (toms, leaves, avocado, radishes and cucumber), 2 new potatoes (mother overboiled them, so they were rank), coleslaw and garlic bread.
Fruit salad
1/2 rocky road
2 cups of tea

I am now hungry though as we ate at lunchtime.
