CoupleofKooks · 21/06/2010 08:45

General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

Fizzy is 10 stone 11 pounds. 5 pounds on in last two weeks, but before that a stone and a half gone in 26 hours. (Blessed childbirth).

whatagradeA · 16/08/2010 20:03

Thurs next week Tiger? Would you like to come and admire see the playhouse?!

I lost a lb. Not bad after my tapas-tastic saturday night Grin

Still 4lb over my best (although unofficial midweek) weight. Must focus. (After I've had the maltesers that DH is bringing back from the supermarket in a minute.)

CoupleofKooks · 16/08/2010 20:16

hello fizzy, congratulations on your baby! i never lost much more than the actual weight of the baby each time i gave birth
mind you i am a greedy bloater when pg

avi really glad your back seems on the mend
how was the beach?

pink nice work losing a lb
i have eaten like a biffer again today, just tired and stuff i suppose
ds2 has 5 teeth coming through

pointydog · 16/08/2010 22:41

hello fizzy.

I will weigh tomorrow but not hopeful.

A silly eating day today cause I was working and then dotting about helping dd2 organise dvd night so:

g'fruit juice
half slice of dd1's cold toast and butter
slice cherry almond cake
kiwi yoghurt
3 pieces spinach, leek, feta filo pie
(lots coffee and some tea)

  1. PLus a few kiwi bits. Pathetic.
CoupleofKooks · 17/08/2010 08:57

pointy your dds have more exciting lives than i do and i am an adult
this is grossly unfair
will you be my mum please

we have dentist but nothing traumatic hopefully just a family check up
mind you d2 will probably bite the lovely dentist, that would be fairly traumatic

OP posts:
pointydog · 17/08/2010 10:47

They do have enviably exciting lives and - in teh modern way Wink - I am just the facilitator not the organiser.

I am dropping them off her, there and everywhere this morning and getting no work done.

Can I just say, though, that I think it is just lovely when your children become very independent.

I weighed and am still 10st 8 so 0 loss. I don't mind too much as it's v easy for me to put on weight in the hols. However, I have been on this plateau for more than 6 weeks now.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/08/2010 19:53

Gawd, am knackered. It was the Children's Festival in town today and all of the activities were free. Mac and I participated in:

African drumming
Fairy Workshop - we made fairy wings
Painting sections on a giant canvas butterfly
Jumping on a trampoline thingy
Playing with a giant Connect 4
Watched a lady hula hooping - she was great!

We went with friends, had a picnic and spent about 5 hours there. A fab but tiring day.

banana on toast
grapes
hot choc and brownie 0 it was cold and raining!
cucumber sticks and toms for lunch as I was full up from the choc overdose
meatballs and pasta (lots of toms, onions, mushrooms and olives in the sauce)

About 7.

pointydog · 17/08/2010 21:23

That sounds like a really nice day, moveit.

o juice
slice cherry almond cake
banana
piece spinach leek feta pie
small slice cherry almond cake
some rice with lots courgette bacon and mushrooms

6

pointydog · 17/08/2010 21:24

Those fairy wings pop up everywhere, don;t they

whatagradeA · 18/08/2010 07:46

I had no idea my period made me so fat. I had lost another 2lb by Tuesday morning! It also makes me eat loads so I'll probably have put the 2lb back on Grin

Haven't got time to read and catch up cause DD is awake and shouting for me! And I'm on a mission for some early nights so I'll try and catch up at the weekend. Hope all well Smile

whatagradeA · 18/08/2010 07:49

Ooh, just seen your teeth comment Kooks. DS has 4 incisors working thier way out Sad

CoupleofKooks · 18/08/2010 09:19

not huge amounts of sound sleep going on here

lemur what a lovely day! was it the fairyland trust? i am a big fan of theirs

Fizzywinelover · 18/08/2010 11:45

Hi, thanks for your welcome!

Yesterday was a bad day vegetable/health wise as a very fretful (but amazingly cute) baby took up alot of time, so;
egg mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich
tomato sandwich
spagetti bolognese
2 squares chocolate, 3 jaffa cakes

i did do a sloooowwwwwww 30 minute walk though, as have only just passed my 6 week check.

My main strategy is to avoid wine, which I love.

elliemental · 18/08/2010 18:18

I am so lardy, it is actually getting me down now.
I have hit 10 stone.
I think it may be mostly wine and cake :(

Still, a week of locks and bridges and walks along tow path may help?

That's if we actually go - DH announced yesterday that he has got the dates all wrong and hasn't cleared his work diary for that week, but the one after (ie when the kids go back to school.) FFS, we talked about this for days before deciding!

elliemental · 18/08/2010 18:20

I have been prepping a freezing millions of peas and beans. I don';t like frozen veg but I have such a glut, I cannot waste it.

Today
Veggie Sushi
Plums
egg and cress sarnie

dinner will be
fish baked in herby breadcrumbs with beans, courgettes fried with a little parmesan, and new potatoes. And lashings of fake low fat butter...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2010 19:07

Mmmmmmm, fresh peas and beans.

We've got beans out of the garden for tea, and at last our runner beans are doing something.

I hope you have given your dh a stern talking to about the holiday. Why oh why do men do these things??!

banana on toast
apple
grapes
2 ryvitta with ham, olives, cucumber sticks
toad in the hole with peas and beans

Probably only about 7 portions. A bit naff really.

Hope you get more sleep tonight Fra. Teething is the devils work.

I found myself saying ruddy in a oonversation today. Wonder where I got that from? Hmm Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2010 19:09

Oh, and it wasn't the Fairyland Trust. I've not heard of them . It was a firm of party planners who host Fairy Workshops for function/parties etc. It was all quite well done though.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2010 19:10

Oh good Lord, why can't I remember everything I want to say on one thread?

You're a fan of Nakd products aren't you Fra? I bought some new ones today, a choc orange bar (ds thought it was the bee's knees), a pecan one and a cashew one.

elliemental · 18/08/2010 19:11

he has done this sort of thing so often it is not worth making a fuss.
If we can't go, (and I am still not sure whether we can or not)I will actually rather enjoy a week off with the boys, and we will do day trips and I will deliberatly spend a fortune on meals out and treats......
I feel like I have hardly spent any time with them for weeks.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2010 19:17

lol at delib spending a fortune on meals and treats. That sounds like something I'd do whilst muttering 'that will bloody learn you'. Grin

There are female body builders on the tv at the moment. Just one question. Why?

Oh actually, I have another question. Why are they so orange?

CoupleofKooks · 18/08/2010 20:04

aw moll how irritating
when dp went off for the weekend to do a running course i decided me and the boys were on holiday and we just did holiday things at home
it was really fun
hope your holiday works out though

lemur i don't know where you could possibly have heard the word ruddy
what kind of nobber would say that?
Hmm

i have not had any of those new nakd bars, i will attempt to procure some

hi fizzy glad the baby is cute, that counts for a lot :o
go easy on yourself - you have just produced a whole new person out of your fanjo, you are allowed to eat lots and lounge about

i have not done well at all with food but i just did a 3 mile run in 27 mins 30
and i stopped twice, once at a crossing and once to talk to some children who were worried about some smoke they had seen
so i reckon that is 27 mins flat really
like you all care about the extra 30 secs

i have not had dinner yet so maybe i can redeem myself

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 18/08/2010 22:21

cereal banana pineapple raisins seeds soya milk = 4
rubbery mozzarella and pesto sandwich
grapes blueberries strawberries and banana = 3
big chocolate brownie with ice cream
another banana = 1
nut roast, raw carrot, mushroom, cucumber, tomato, chickpeas, load of mayonnaise to dunk in = 3
ice cream

11 portions and 30 mins running
just the sweet tooth to crack now and i will really be getting somewhere

oh avi really sorry to hear that
let's hope this one can fix you

i need to sort out eating so much sugar, it is such a craving / bad habit when i am tired

ds2 now has a snotty cold and cough - you can imagine how we slept Hmm
i think his taste must be a bit funny this morning as i am trying to tempt him to eat porridge and he is saying "i don't want that sweetcorn in my face"!!
