CoupleofKooks · 21/06/2010 08:45

General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

i don't like cherries, or almonds really
that is about the only cake that would be safe from my greedy old mouth

cereal melon apple raisins milk seeds = 3.5
apple = 1
egg mayonnaise sandwich
beetroot = 1
2 satsumas = 1
pizzas made out of wholemeal muffins - bizarrely i can score 1 portion for the tomato puree on them
chickpea, lettuce, cucumber, carrot and pepper salad = 1

8.5
ok better

yes, we like little pizzas made from muffins.

Also pizzas made from those unbaked baguettes. The dds love french bread pizzas and it reminds me of my cosmopolitan findus days.

Sains often sell 2 packs of those baguettes for £1 (2 loaves in a pack) so a v cheap tea. And quite good for f&v if you add tinned toms and red pepper and mushrooms

pointydog · 04/08/2010 20:35

I agree with avi. I like the cream in cream cakes. I love the texture of it in my mouth.

CoupleofKooks · 05/08/2010 07:35

You mean an English breakfast muffin don't your Fra?

I did lol at Pointy's 'The dds love french bread pizzas and it reminds me of my cosmopolitan findus days.' It really made me giggle.

I am not a perv, but I like cream too. Infact I'm a cream fiend given the chance. I knew I liked it rather a lot, but it was when my sil commented that I put cream on my pie in the same quantities that people use custard that I realised I liked it just a bit too much!

CoupleofKooks · 05/08/2010 22:08

yes i suppose i do
i thought a muffin was just a muffin, i didn't know it needed a glossary

cereal pineapple raisins grapes seeds soya milk = 4
banana = 1
quorn rolls
half an orange juice lolly
banana = 1
almonds
pasta, pesto, mozzarella, cheddar, red cabbage, broccoli, carrots = 3
pineapple = 1
brazils and giant chocolate buttons

10, blimey, it seemed like more than 10 to be honest

4 mile run
bit shambly, took 42 mins but i am sure i lost a minute at some traffic lights [geek]

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/08/2010 13:23

Being tired is debilitating (sp?) isn't it? Is it ds2 night time shenanigans that is causing the problem?

I wish I have been weighing myself. I've got a sickness bug and I don't think I can have anything left in me - sorry a bit tmi Blush

Oh, and of course a muffin glossary is necessary Grin

CoupleofKooks · 06/08/2010 20:53

evening lemur, hope you are feeling better soon :(
you poor old thing - is someone looking after you?

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 06/08/2010 20:56

i am at the stupid stage of tired now
i was trying to subtract 14 from 38 earlier in my head and i just could not do it
i am so tired i have even forgotten why i am so tired :o
i think it is ds2, some unfortunate early mornings, and a couple of nights of feeling a bit ill. some nights i am knackered and i get into bed and just lie there awake for a few hours
it's like my body thinks "well i know i am not going to get a decent night's rest HERE, so i might as well not bother"
it's very annoying
we are all knackered today as dp got up at 6.20 despite not having to go to london
"why did you get up and wake us all up when we were all tired and fast asleep?"
"i was awake"
Hmm Hmm Hmm

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 07/08/2010 08:29

yesterday i ate:

cereal fruit seeds raisins soya milk = 4
salad rocket spinach cucumber tomato sun dried tomatoes cheese lentils new potatoes pineapple mayonnaise = 3
pain au chocolat
cauliflower swede pepper onion mushroom chickpea butterbean curry, with almonds, coconut, raisins and rice = 4
chocolate
coffee ice cream with strawberries and banana = 1

hey i am getting the hang of this = 13
stomach still sticky outy but i think i am eating hearty portions

the lentils were these fab ready cooked beluga lentils. ds1 asked me what they were as i was taking them out of the packet and being in a stupid mood i said chocolate. he asked if he could have some and i put some in his mouth. he was chewing and going, mmmmm, chocolate. then slowly you could see light dawning. luckily he liked them Blush i told him they were the poshest lentils in the world and he went round all day murmuring "the poshest lentils in the world" in terms of great awe

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 08/08/2010 19:29

cereal fruit seeds raisins soya milk = 4
oatcake with peanut butter
quorn and salad sandwich
apple pie made by boys, with cream = 1
tofu kebabs, with courgette, pepper, mushroom, made by boys = 3

am going to have fruit and ice cream = 2

10
and 5 mile run = maybe the scales will be twitching downwards tomorrow?

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 08/08/2010 19:30

oh ds2 made the sandwiches! wearing a pirate jacket, a string of beads and a straw hat

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/08/2010 19:41

Yuuuuuuuum, apple pie. Especially tasty when it has been made by a pirate!!

The stomach is still rather dodgy here, but better. It's getting very boring now. All I've been able to stomach is toast.

CoupleofKooks · 08/08/2010 19:51

lemur that is rough
i hope you are feeling perkier tomorrow
i heard the same thing was going round these parts - we have avoided so far

Hi all, I recognise a few names of old, except for Franny who's changed. Have you all got a new scoring system/
Aviatrix, I glanced through this page and was sorry to see that you are still struggling with Migraines, and gynae problems. My migraines are a bit better, although I still get them unfortunately. Still having all the old problems with pmt, and heavy periods. Still resisting having the MC, just dont' think it's for me.
I am working 22 hours a week now, so have less time for the computer than I used to have, but will try and check in more regularly.
I do miss MN, but find it so addictive, that I find going cold turkey easier than using it moderately Blush
My fruit and veg intake remains about the same, not bad by a lot of people's standards, but could be improved. I am about to try a Dairy diet, apparently it helps you lose weight around your middle. It's basically a low carb diet, which works on the principle that Calcium and Dairy rich diets can help you lose a certain type of fat/ It's got lots of fruit and veg in it as well, as well as lean meat, fish, but very little carbs.
Will try and let you know how I am going with it.
