General healthy eating and exercise thread with aim of losing weight / shaping up. Aim to eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, and do more exercise. No bizarre diets please. Weigh in day is Monday (you don't have to weigh in but we will punish you by with-holding stickers). Diet coke will be frowned upon.

we have slacked and all sorts of bad things

cereal fruit raisins seeds milk = 4
philadelphia wrap with cucumber and carrot = 1
shortbread biscuit
lemon curd muffin
jacket potato with cheese and beans = 2
ate mine and then ds1's half leftover potato i was really hungry
chocolate

2 ryvitta with low fat cream cheese, toms, cucumber, olives and grapes

5 so far, may have a pear mid-afternoon. I know how to live on the edge.

half a cantaloupe - how many portions is that?

roasting ham, potato amd sweet potato (I am assuming sweet potato doesn't count as portion?)
strawbs and blueberries

I am resisting a slice of pizza. And I will be resisting choc cheesecake. dd2 has friend over for tea.

According to my chart a 6cm slice of melon is 1 portion. Did you really eat 1/2 a cantaloupe??!! And sweet potato is a veg and does count.

Has anybody tried these? Oh they're bloody good. Hence the sweeties on the end of my list. Waitrose had them on buy 1 get one 1. Very dangerous.

you can also call less than full term breastfeeding "curtailed breastfeeding" if you want to get snarky about it

yes it was a long day, i had a plus 1 today so trying to mediate between 3 very strong willed little people, and ds2 was not a happy boy for most of it, we had to go to m+s in desperation to bribe him with pasta salad and of course i bought cakes

i will FOCUS on the good though

5 portions of fruit in the morning
kidney beans, pepper, onion and mushroom in a baked bulgar wheat thing = 1
lettuce carrot cuc avocado and tom = 1

oh bugger it only 7
i have to crack either lunch time or the evening, they are my weakest links

i am missing running but i still have a crappy throat and chest
i can't sit and eat cake all evening without gaining weight unless i've been on a 5 miler i think

dp has a day off tomorrow HALLELUJAH

Fear not, fran, I think I often underestimate my f&v intake. I have been doing well today.

grapefruit juice
2 plain pancakes
banana
kiwi yoghurt
piece toast and cottage cheese
half a cantaloupe (they are smallish)
roast ham, potato amd sweet potato cubes (I scoffed quite a bit of leftover ham too)
strawbs and blueberries

3 so far as I don't think I can count a couple of glaces (imagine french accent).

My cherry cake is so good the dds begged me not to take half of it to a friend's house. So I didn't. I felt a bit measley turning up with a packet of rockys though.

Oh, tell me more about the cherry and almond cake Pointy. Cherries and almonds are one of my fav combinations.

2 bites of a sausage roll
cheese and cucumber roll, cucumber sticks, olives and cherry toms
oj
veg curry, mushroom rice, mushroom bhaji and a chapati.

Prob about 8 portions.

The weather has been shite here today. I think it might be my own fault though as I bought a summer dress in the sale this morning!

chips! lots!(had to eat contents of freezer as I am defrosting it)
small slice cherry cake

  1. Not so brill.

A straightforward big round cherry and almond cake, moveit. Ground almonds in teh mix and, best of all, loads of whole blanched almonds all over the top in decreasing circles that turn brown and v crunchy in teh oven.
