Afternoon all, have voted, didn't run there though as it was raining and cold
DH not out tonight though so am going to the gym later.

I got all anxious and a bit tearful in the polling booth, am not excited about the result, feel very wound up and a bit scared

Think I'll just have a stale scone and some weak tea ta, Mitts, that'll perk me up.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 13:57

Yeah.. it's more like politician recycling these days isn't it? The same bollox rehashed and put in different packaging.. That's why I want electoral reform. Shake the miserable self serving sycophants out of their complacency...

MyCatIsABastard · 06/05/2010 13:57

SAF, I was 7 in 1977. My saving grace is that whilst I am 40 I act like a 5yr old much of the time (you know, demands full attention, tantrums/cries when doesn't get own way, bosses everyone around, would eat chips with everything given the chance) . Hope nursery goes well today.

Lizzy, I felt strangely anxious when voting. As if I was doing something wrong and that I'd be told I wasn't allowed to vote or I was doing it wrong or something. Most odd

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:06

Mmmm.. I was 7/8 in '77.

sorry you don't do so good in playgroup type situations Saf.... I hid behind my DC's way too much

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 06/05/2010 14:27

Leaping in as seeing other folk are same age as me .
Now off to read what you're up to.

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 06/05/2010 14:34

Are we all feeling a ghostly Syc presence then? I have been having severe talking to (with self) and have not over-indulged today at all yet.
Sky men have been and telly is fixed. They had to climb up lots of floors to the roof, which DS loved. He has now noticed that there is a ladder fixed to the side of building though.. (higher than he could reach).
VT you have had rough time with blabbing bosses and musical neighbours.
Forgot about primaries being off - that'll be why soft play was packed this morning!

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 06/05/2010 14:48

If I didn't know better I would think had killed the thread - maybe everyone is just off voting? [hopeful]
Going to wake the monster from his nap.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:51

No Iggi. it often goes quiet around school run time... luvs ya xx

MyCatIsABastard · 06/05/2010 15:04

Bloody DH!
I'm sat here working and I hear a load of dripping. Suddently realise that there is a major leak coming into the kitchen. I shout up to DH 'babe, there's a leak in the kitchen', the bloody pratt shouts back (in angry voice, I might add) 'I know'. So why the feck are you a) leaving it to bloody soack the kitchen floor, b) shouting at me like it's my fault and c) not flaming telling me about it and just letting me bloody well find out.

Apparantly its from the radiator in the bathroom that he was fiddling with - just leave it alone you fool!!!

FFS!

And his car has failed the MOT and it is going to cost about £400 to fix (headlights buggered, which I've been saying for months), bald tyre and a break caliper. This is on top of us having front breaks done on his car 6weeks ago (£240), my car 3weeks ago (£135) and my cars rusty roof being resprayed 1mth ago (£200). So around £1000 on bloody sodding cars in the last 6 weeks!

FFS FFS FFS FFS!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 06/05/2010 15:39

Hello.

Tesco was hell.

Every time I take DS shopping with me he doubles my shopping bill, I swear.

And then DH turned up as I was loading the conveyor belt and stuck a crate of beer on the end!

£95 quid, with staff discount

I have two fridges and they are both rammed.

Steak for Dinner - chips for DH, salad for me.

Sorry about the cars and the leak, MyCat.

Hope nursey goes ok saf.

Hi all- just popping my head in for now as am off out for a couple of hours tutoring before dd2 is due to be collected. Hopefully will manage not to cough all over the poor girl's keyboard. My router is fucked, so posting on the end of long threads is really hard. I keep losing connection so have arranged for a friend of my brother's to look at it over this weekend. If I am quiet it's because I'm having trouble getting online, as he's picking it up after six.

Hopefully I will be up and running again by Monday, but in the mean time lets hope that I don't have to emigrate if the Tories get in! Happy eating until the next thread, probably!

Xx

jetcat · 06/05/2010 16:14

Hope you get sorted soon BoF

Mycat - for the nightmare with the cars and the leak I hope you get them sorted as well.

Norma - whats the fat content in that lemon drizzle cake? Do you think i would have side effects I am so sick of bloomin WW cake slices that i actually had some summer fruits cheesecake yesterday - twas a low fat one though, was still yummy

Hope all the illing people and their DCs feel better soon

Well as predicted, mini had a ball going to school. Good job i took a change of clothes - she was soaked Junior on the other hand is not liking the rain, as she refuses to use her brolly as it puts her off balance, and wont get the bus as the one time she went for it it was three mins late and she had a meltdown

I think i will have to try for dla again for her, as the taxis are costing me a fortune Her OT is lovely and should support it, but it was so hard having to go to the appeal last time. We shall see

Sorry, enough waffling

So who is staying up to watch the results?

cold, tired, satisfied, and feeling smug.

You shiney?

Fluffyvacuity · 06/05/2010 16:40

Hello all, bit inconstant at moment due to real life crisisessesess.

Bof - hope you get router sorted quick as you can, missing you around here Hope you feel better soon too.

MyCat - i hate cars, they always cost a fortune

jet - my ex got dla ? i think that's what it was called, he had a motability car? He was fine to walk, used to play football etc but he had Christmas disease so if he got injured he couldn't walk at all. Seemed a bit of a waste to me though as he was fine 85% of the time. Had a disabled badge too. Sorry what I was trying to say was go for it.

Prob will stay up to see results. Not sure wht i'm hoping for though, all seem equally shit

jetcat · 06/05/2010 16:41

why are you smug DEM?

bellavita · 06/05/2010 16:42

jetcat · 06/05/2010 16:45

fluffy, if she did qualify, i think it would be for the lower rates, so no car, but i could use the extra money for taxis etc. Or to put towards a car for us all. The bloomin forms are a nightmare though - although we are lucky here in that we have a fab welfare rights guy who will complete them (if you can get an appointment) Will see what he says i think

Forgot to say before, minor disaster averted with mini. I stupidly tried to cut her fringe, she wouldnt sit still and you can guess the rest She went to school today with a variety of slides in to try and disguise it, but luckily i managed to get in straight in at hairdressers at end of street. Still looks a bit as they had to cut her fringe short to straighten it - looks like a pudding bowl cut

jetcat · 06/05/2010 16:46

fluffy - just realised who you are Hope you are having a better day too

wastingaway · 06/05/2010 16:47
