I have had horrible pains all day..... they feel like periiod pains. As the day has progressed they have been getting worse and worse.

Nurofen isnt touching it. Im totally exhausted by it and just want to sleep. Im sat here crying because I dont know what to do. I took painkillers nearly an hour ago anf they just arent working and I just want to sleep.

don't worry about people thinking you're an idiot.

your symptoms aren't easing so you need treatment. do you have transport?

Clarissimo · 20/04/2010 14:05

They will NOT think you an idiot

Just a quick example SC- several times my symptoms were written off with ds1 as depression and anxiety

I had pre-eclamspia, ended up with full eclampsia

They make mistakes, dangerous ones. Not often perhaps but tehy do adn you do not want to be a stat nor have your kids raised by either your Mum or ExP

Go now

Brollyflower · 20/04/2010 14:06

I agree with blinks. Are you still bleeding?

snorkie · 20/04/2010 14:06

I may be wrong here, but aren't hgc levels lower in ectopic pregnancies anyway?

I agree about doctors being useless at diagnosing ectopics, the first doctor I saw (with classic symptoms) told me it couldn't be ectopic 'because that was very rare' , and the next one refused to believe I was even pregnant at all (as I hadn't had a doctor do a pg test, only based on home results).

Brollyflower · 20/04/2010 14:08

Ring the early pregnancy unit right now before they close at 215pm. The number is further up the thread. Now, please.

blinks · 20/04/2010 14:09

if it is ectopic you want to get it confirmed pre-rupture.

Please call them straight away. Tell them all of your symptoms and that you're still concerned it may be ectopic. You are not being a nuisance - you need medical attention!

Brollyflower · 20/04/2010 14:15

Yes, tell them exactly how you feel. Tell them about the severe one-sided pain yesterday and tell them you weren't scanned. Say you are worried it might be ectopic. Do not underplay how rough you feel. Good luck

Lulumaam · 20/04/2010 14:15

you must call

you are sick, faint, bleeding and in pain ! i cannot believe this is happening to you

am angry on your behalf

and i would rather stamp my feet and be though a bit of a tit and get treated than quietly sit at home ,possibly bleeding to death internally

ring them

spookycharlotte121 · 20/04/2010 14:16

ok will go find the number.

got a weird feeling in my right sholder too it doesnt hurt but it feels weird especially when I lie down and Im breathing. Im just worried incase im imagining symptoms.

Tell them about the shoulder pain too - i think that may be one of the possible signs of EP

snorkie · 20/04/2010 14:18

phone now & good luck.

blinks · 20/04/2010 14:18

yes, sounds like shoulder tip pain as associated with EP.

i wouldn't even ring, just get to A&E. insist on a scan. mention shoulder pain.

have you got someone to take you?

Lulumaam · 20/04/2010 14:18

shoulder pain is key symptom

snorkie · 20/04/2010 14:19

shoulder pain is an ep symptom - it's a referred pain from the tube.

blinks · 20/04/2010 14:19

don't fanny around.

A&E.

JustAnotherManicMummy · 20/04/2010 14:19

Go to A&E now

Humania · 20/04/2010 14:19

Please go to A&E now!

Lulumaam · 20/04/2010 14:21

i would consider 999. faint, sick, bleeding, shoulder pain.. unless someone can take you right now

JustAnotherManicMummy · 20/04/2010 14:22

Just caught up with this thread and I'm so .

I cannot believe the hospital didn't do a scan. It takes minutes and saves lives.

Charlotte can you ring someone local so they can make sure you get to A&E and get seen?

I'm in two minds whether you should be ringing an ambulance. I'm concerned about you getting to A&E.
