Would it be appropriate to nominate this thread for Classics? It'll vanish from chat soon.

Hi, I'm a journalist for the Telegraph and very keen to get in touch with SC to talk about her experiences - both with the brilliant MNs and also with the NHS. If anyone could pass on my contact details to her I'm on 02079312496. My email address is [email protected] Or she can contact me on here. It seems as though mumsnet came to the rescue yet again! Well done all.

Only just caught up with this. Shocking.

I am glad SC is now, eventually, getting the treatment she needs.

Have noted PP account and will sort later when back home.

Have paypalled. Glad everyone is up for a campaign. This sort of misdiagnosis of eps is so common and it really SHOULDN'T BE.

To SC - this might not help or be relevant, but just in case it is ... Although your fertility is reduced through having one tube removed, it's not halved. The gyno explained to me that fallopian tubes aren't static, and one can sort of nip over to the ovary on the other side and catch

I have been following this thread since Monday, but didn't feel able to post as I have no experience of EP.

I have absolutely no money but would love to contribute. Do you think there would be a need for a second collection? I get paid next Friday and only have £2 to last me to then. If a second collection happens, I would love to donate whatever I can.

I am so sorry for your loss Charlotte and for the terrible way you were treated. Thank goodness for MN and everyone here who helped you through it. Wishing you a very speedy recovery.

Has anyone started a new thread? If not I can start one.

I'll keep it in chat and then Charlotte can decide whether to have it moved or let it disappear. And link to both.

Just getting in before the thread fills up completely. katz is right, is there a new one yet?

SpookyCharlotte I've been following what has happened to you since Wednesday with increasing horror and concern. So sorry that you've been through a terrible time, you poor thing, thank goodness you had the sense to take advice from the brilliant women of MN. Get well soon and do get your sister or mum to ask someone from your course to update your tutors and get everything straight for a long extension on your outstanding work. Thinking of you.

Big hugs to SC, so sorry you had to go through all this.

I am so touched and shocked at the community on MN, have been member for ages but only been hanging out in threads for a few months.

You are all brill. So toucheed by your care.

lewis contribution on its way too.

I did not know half of these symptoms and definately agree an awareness campaign needs to be launched.

Report
Katz · 22/04/2010 13:22

this thread either needs mumsnet to stop it expiring at 1000 posts or 2 new ones setting up the first as a support best wishes update on spooky thread and the second as a how to coordinate EP awareness thread

Goodness me.

The NHS really has failed SC in this situation by simply not following their own protocols. Thank the Lord for posters such as Aitch who are knowledgeable enough and have the confidence to push for what they know is right.

SC - I really hope you're recovering well. Be kind to yourself. This will take time to come to terms with.

Lewisfan - I have sent a small donation but forgot to refernce it sorry! My initials are JP, DH's are GP (the paypal account is on his e-mail address). Thanks for organising this.

Very happy to get behind a campaign to help prevent this happening to others.

I'm in Bristol but working all day

Will donate some money though and I think I know a nurse that works on one of the women's health wards - I could get her to be extra nice to her (she is nice anyway) but she won't be able to tell me anything about SC will she so how will she know who she is?
