Please can someone help me. Im in so much pain and I dont know what to do.

I have had horrible pains all day..... they feel like periiod pains. As the day has progressed they have been getting worse and worse.

Nurofen isnt touching it. Im totally exhausted by it and just want to sleep. Im sat here crying because I dont know what to do. I took painkillers nearly an hour ago anf they just arent working and I just want to sleep.

home from hospital now. sorry could only figure out how to use fb on my mobile.... mumsnet wouldnt work.

They didnt scan me. They said from the hcg reading that it would be too early. They had a reading of i think proeastrogen which was really low so they said they think im miscarrying. Im supposed to go bk on thurs for more bloods to see if the levels have changed.

Feel preety rough. Have tried to eat since I got home. Had some toast and some soup but I dont htink its going to stay down. Have horrible back ache now which the meds havent touched aat all also feeling very dizzy. kids aare staying with my sis till I feel able to look after them. Just feel really really rough. Exp has been supprisingly lovely to me.

I mean this in the nicest, gentlest way Charlotte, but please be careful with the situation with your ex. The fact that he is being nice to you does not excuse the way he reguarly treats you and your children. Please try and remember that.

oh dont worry.... he isnt going to worm his way back in. Was just nice that he was pulling his weight for once and helping out.

nope no scan. They said they might do one at the weekend although I think it unlikely. sorry if my typing is bad. I feel horrendous.

But how in gods name have they not scanned you given your symptoms? I know it's going to be exhausting for you, but can you not go back and demand a scan?

they said i would only be 3 or 4 weeks by the hcg reading and so a scan would be pointless..... The thing I dont get is why I feel so horrendous if its only a mc.... surely at this point a mc would literally go unnoticed as Im only 1 week late if that. I figured it would just be like a bad period so why do I have all this pain and weirdness.

they said that the hcg should double over 48 hours so if it had on thurs then they would do a scan at the weekend.

But surely all that would do is confirm a miscarriage? What you want to rule out is an ectopic pregnancy. Did they not mention this to you?

not really. They just said that because the hcg was 300 it was too early to do a scan and that the other level was 18 or something indicating that the pregnancy wasnt viable or was in the process of leaveing my body

Call them back Charlotte. Ask them if they'd considered the possibility of an ectopic, and if not why not. Don't be fobbed off. You don't really seem to know hat has been done and why. Ask for clarification. You can't just leave this. I am shocked that they took the trouble to keep you in and yet seemingly did nothing

will be back in a bit to update. Feeling really odd, my head ad back are really hurting. Im going to go have a lie down before I pass out.

Oh spooky, one reading can tell them nothing!!! I think you need to speak to someone else.

For example, most of my mc's (have had 7!) my HCG readings have been in the thousands, the first number means nothing without another HCG reading. With DS2 my first HCG reading was only 92, he is fine!

How heavy is your bleeding?

I deffinately agree with everyone that you NEED a scan, it is still 4 days to the weekend.

They were investigating it as an ectopic. They told me that when they admitted me.

I had an internal examination done and they also took swabs to check for any infections.

they did bloods although those Im not really sure what they were for.

Most of the time they were doing my blood pressure and pulse and I had a drip with fluids.

bleeding comes and goes. Its never very heavy and quite watery looking.

SC you poor thing, what a scare!

re your dissertation- get a note from hospital to confirm overnight admission and get extension underway. Dont try and do it, I did (delievered ds4 few weeks before ddeadline) and am sure it dropped me to a 2:1.

I am not ar away so if I can help when yuou get started again let me know (Newport, Riv can vouch for me)- am good with essays usually and MA year finished yesterday so have empty desk (yay)

you got some good avice alst night girl, isn't MN great at times?

Keep well and dont be scared to ask for mroe help, or for extra scans

if you are still at the point of feeling os unwell you feel you are going to pass out, you need more medical attention

with respect, if you are not having a miscarriage/ectopic, you need to consider what you are going to do, if anything, if this is indeed a viable pregnancy. feel really horrible mentioning this, but if it is sitll early days adn you are not miscarrying, and you mentioned earlier you could not cope with a 3rd baby, you need to look at your options sooner rather than later

in teh meantime, i hope someone is with you, if you are feeling faint

clarissimo.... im fucked with the disserttation anyways. Its part of my resit moduls from last year and even though the reason I couldnt complete it was because of a mentle health problem I can on get a pass nd the dissertation counts for 60% of my overall mark seems pretty unfair to me.

lulu I couldnt carry on with the pregnancy. It would be no good for anyone. I have already made my mind up on that if it comes to it. i have to put my kids first and there is no way I could cope with another baby. Sounds harsh and I will find it very difficult if I do have to go through with a termination but like I say, they come first.

Home alone atm but my mum works just down the road so if i need her im sure she would come. If not exp probs would.

A pass is OK SC, in your sit a pass is a fucking massive achievement

If you want help (even if just a proof read by email / referencing check) holler. get the pass mark. Be proud of it.

i do feel quite frightened at being alone.

I dont feel right but the drs are going to think im an idiot if I go back and say that. I feel like someone has winded me.

no. i'm not happy with this.

was the internal an internal scan? i think you need to double check that. often if they can't get a clear result from an internal scan they'll repeat it in a few days.

i'm concerned about the severity of your symptoms. a very early miscarriage wouldn't make you feel this way.

call your GP now or go back to hospital. feeling faint with these symptoms isn't good.
