Girly well done!!!

Everyone sounds like they are tying so hard.

I have lost count of where i am on my diet sheet, but I know Friday I was OK, by the ned of 5 days I had had 28 sins, but the weekend was coming!!

Saturday
Breakfast - Fruit
Lunch - Salad and hard bolied eggs - dressing 2 sins
Supper - decided to do an ASDA takeaway as these can be sin free. I was so good chooing sinfree vegge curries, I even bought some plain rice rather than pilau but.... the pack of mixed bhajis were calling, as were the mini popadoms! with my glass of wine. I soon lost count (I think about 20 sins plus wine) Then dh had been given a box of chocs (only 10 thorntons selection and we shared the lot) oops add another 20 sins.

However For some reason the curry went straight through me and by this morning I'd lost 4lbs in 6 days!!!

But today we went out for the day, all started well with porridge (B) with water, and only a Mr men lolly (2 sins) until lunch! One large portion of chip shop chips and a veggies burger with cheese!! Followed bu=y a double scoop of 'proper' ice cream!! I reacon all 4lbs will be back on!

kayleigh · 20/07/2003 20:08

Girly, well done, that is fantastic.

Crunchie, don't be too hard on yourself you've been doing so well. And it is your birthday tomorrow. If you can't celebrate for a couple of days what's left in life !!

Saturday was another red day
Breakfast - Fresh Fruit salad & yog
Snack - 1 apple
Lunch - M&S pack of roast beef, pot of fresh fruit (on shopping trip - tempted by sandwiches but didn't let the little devil inside my head win!)
Snack - 4 ryvita + 5 laughing cow light (A) + (B)
Supper - chicken fajeta (8.5 sins= 1 x tortilla)
Snack in front of telly - Dried apricots(B)
Daily sins 8.5

Have found a hardened resolve somewhere inside me and have amazed myself at my willpower this weekend. Have no idea where it is coming from, just hoping it sticks around !

I also end up with the same thing for breakfastevery day . i nearly always have fruit & yog as I like to save my (A) and (B) options for later in the day. Although sunday breakfast is my fave as I always have a grill-up

Girly · 20/07/2003 20:55

Thanks Kayleigh and Crunchie, today has been a green day and have had

Breakfast - 2 toast, eggs and baked beans
lunch - 1 banana and nectarine
snack - pasta tortilla chips
dinner - pasta with veg and chicken (b) and cheese (a)
pud - melon and strawberries

Am well and truly stuffed!

Winnie1, just read an earlier post of mine and there i called you Winnie2, am always doing that, Sorry!

Thanks Kayleigh, I am not feeling too bad, as I had planned for this anyway! After one full week I think about 3 1/2 lbs have gone (according to the scales this morning), Only 3 1/2 to go!! My goal is the half stone I'd put back on, off by the 31st July. I am on course even if I do go out today. I am on a flexible sins day, allowing at least 50 sins today!!

kayleigh · 21/07/2003 11:44

Happy Birthday Crunchie. Enjoy every single one of those flexible sins

Sunday was a red day and I ate :-

Breakfast - bacon, poached egg, tomatoes & mushrooms
Snack - apple
Lunch - tuna sandwich (B) with salad and muller yog, nectarine
Supper - Cheese sandwich (A) + (B) + pickle (1 sin)
Snacks in front of telly - cherries, mini flake(4 sins)
milk in tea (1 sin)
Total sins for day 6

As you can see I didn't do much cooking today ! The kids had a party in the afternoon so they didn't need any supper. Dh wanted pizza for his, so he had one out of freezer and I was very happy with a cheese and pickle sandwich as it meant no cooking !
Today I'm having a green day as I'm not working and find green easier to do at home. Have just put an enourmous jacket potatoe in the oven and am about to whip up a batch of tortilla chips for this evening.

lilibet · 21/07/2003 13:13

Happy Birthday Crunchie, Sin away!!
Are all supermarket veg curries sin free?
Had an attack of the midnight munchies last night so ate a very big piece of sw quiche and this morning my skirt is really tight which I know (hope) is down to pre period bloating but it still doesn't make me feel any better .

Well done Girly, that is a really good loss. Glad you're recovering well and are back with us.

kayleigh · 21/07/2003 16:15

lilibet, they aren't all sin free as I have learnt to my cost. The Tesco one was sin free but then i noticed about a year later it had changed -I think it's now 3.5 sins sins for the pack. I know the waitrose one is only 1.5 sins per pack. The best place to check is sins online section of the slimming world website.
That bloated feeling is horrible isn't it. You feel like you have put on pounds. But you know once you get your period you'll be fine again so stick with it. You are doing really well.

kid · 21/07/2003 20:27

I am back on track today.
I had 2 weetabix, Tuna salad (with some coleslaw)
and for dinner I had some beef goulash. If I fancy anything else the fruit bowl is fully stocked!
I have wrote down everything that I have eaten today which I think is why I have managed to be good, I can't wait to see my weight loss showing on the scales.

deegward · 21/07/2003 21:38

What a bad weekend, after saying i was going to really good!

Went out on Friday night (something I never do) food was fine but I think I must have had 5 or 6 vodkas. At 3 sins each 15 sins oops, never mind says I lfexible sins be really good on Saturday.

Red day, and had used no sins so felt good, had everything ready for tea, and.... called across to neighbours for drinks ( only drank diet juice),k but didn't get home til late so had two slices of white toast (7 sins) with spread (2sins?)

Sunday will be better, red day again, had roast beef, dry roasted veg, but roasted potatoes in with beef, also didn't realise parsnips had to be a hc on red day. Again called to neighbours as Sunday was birthday, had a piece of M&S birthday cake (5.5 sins per 28g) the slie I think would have been 1 - 2 oz so bang went the sins again.

Today, red again, had fruit salad for breakfast, marinaded 3 chicken breast (2 sins), and had loads of salad and flat mushrooms. Have had a fun size bag of button (4 sins) so if I keep this up tomorrow and Wednesday (weigh in day) maybe....

All I can say, if I wasn't on this diet I would have been so much worse, and I feel I have been restrained... Honest Sorry for long post

lilibet · 21/07/2003 22:53

Why does it become hard going? I have soooooo wanted chocolate cake tonight. My mum sent one round for the children, its not something I normally eat, not a fan of chocolate cake at all, but I could seriously have wolfed the whole lot. I kept making the knife messy so that I could lick it! (out of sight of the children of course) So here is todays food list
Breakfast - banana and yoghurt for a change
Lunch Couscous salad
Tea - veggie stirfry and oodles of noodles.
I have eaten another punnet of plums - I got three for 28p each on sell offs in asda! Organic too!!
All I can say Deegward is tomorrow is another day and keep at it. Hope you had a brill birthday Crunchie!

Girly · 22/07/2003 11:19

Oh Lilibet, don't know how you managed not to eat a bit of that cake, don't think i could be so restrained!

I am trying to keep my sins to about 5 a day and then if i have the odd slip up then it won't matter too much. Like this afternoon we are going to Odds Farm and you just know there will be ice cream!

Shall pack a picnic full of free foods and treat myself to 1 ice lolly, its weigh in tonight so must be good.
red day:
Breakfast - melon & yoghurt
lunch - salad, chicken slices and brown bread and a lump of cheese
Dinner - lamb steaks and jacket pot with veg

Lets hop I can stick to it, will not have dinner till after weigh in!

OP posts:
Girly · 22/07/2003 11:21

Deegward, sounds like your sins are alright, how many do you allow yourself a day? I try and keep to 10 sins a day, but usually save most up for the weekend.

OP posts:
kayleigh · 22/07/2003 11:42

I nearly gave in to a major choc feast last night but then remembered I had a load of homemade tortilla chips so munched my way through the whole lot and curbed my chocolate craving with a choc muller light yog and a small bag of maltesers.

So Monday - green day
Breakfast - Fresh Fruit & yog
Snack - 1 apple, cherries
Lunch - large jacket pot with macaroni cheese and salad, yog
Snack - cheese sandwich (A) + (B) plus picallili (0.5 sin) nectarine
Supper - Pack Tesco Healthy Eating American Style Pot wedges (1.5 sins) plus tin Stagg veg chilli topped with grated cheese (B)
Snack in front of telly - mueller light choc yog, mini pack maltersers (5 sins) tortilla chips
Daily sins 7

I try to stick to between 5&10 sins a day. My downfall is chocolate but i find if i indulge every day i don't feel too hard done by. If I was to save it up for the weekend I'd feel deprived all week and that would definitely send me off the rails.

Girly, good luck with your weigh in.

lilibet · 22/07/2003 18:55

Someone asked earlier how often do you weigh yourself. I am an every day weigher but only take notice of my Friday weight, so not a happy bunny today as the bloating has really kicked in but will see how I go for Friday. Do others tell people if they are on a diet? My dp knows but thats it, I very rarely confess to anyone else as that is admitting that I'm bothered about my weight, which I don't like to admit. Thats why this thread is so good for me, I can bore the pants of you lot without any of you knowing me and what I look like! I went for mile and a half walk today and have started going on the loo a floor up at work, working on the 'every little helps' theory. Todays food:-
Breakfast and Lunch as yesterday
Tea - grilled tomatoes adn mushrooms, scrambled eggs, spaghetti and smash cakes made with fried onion smash which were suprisingly good. I even finished dd's off with no guilt at all - sin free.
Have snacked on my last plums all day!
How did the weigh in go Girly?

Crunchie · 22/07/2003 21:06

I'm supposed to be back on track today, after a reasonable blow out (yes I lost count after the second piece of birthday cake! - I had been great until I came home form work so touch wood it wasn't all bad). However today they decided it was my birthday lunch so I had veggie lasagne and chips Oh well. Like Lillibet I am a terrible every day weigher, but I only truely count the class scales. Since I was supposed to be at target I need to know if I am within 3lbs so I don't have to pay tomorrow. Hopefully if I am and wear very very light clothes and have just SW quiche and salad I'll survive until the 5.30 weigh in. At least I don't have to wait until 7pm without supper!!

So today breakfast - usual yoghurt, porrige and fruit. Lunch - see above! Supper - big bowl of tomato/cucumber salad with balsamic vinegar, stir fry mediterrean veg (stir fry veg with herbs de provence and passata!). No wine as I had 2 glasses at lunch!

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:07

Well... have lost 7 pounds!!! so far, hooray! Got a sticker in my book.

This 7pm weigh in is hard for me, cause I have to wait to get home and then cook dinner by which time I am very hungry, but it pays!

Was good today, so treated myself at the Farm with a Bounty ice cream, and yummy it was too and a bargain at only 13 sins

So who's next for a weigh in?

today i had melon and yog for breakfast, cheese and ham sandwich and ice cream for lunch and then lamb steak, salad and new potatoes for dinner.

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:09

have got new sacles so have become a serial day weigher too!

kayleigh · 22/07/2003 22:13

I can't believe there are so many every day weighers coming out of the closet (or is it the batroom cabinet?). I thought I was alone in my guilty habit. My dh thinks I'm totally doolally weighing myself every day.

Today was a red day and went like this...

Breakfast - the usual fruit salad and yoghurt
Snack - apple, 2 babybel
Lunch - roll mop salad & cottage cheese + salad dressing (2 sins), yog
Snack - nectarine
Supper - roast chicken, jacket potatoe (B) and veg
Snacks - dried apricots (B) + hi fi bar (6 sins)
Total sins for day 8

I also stole 1 malteser from my youngests bag at tea time but have no idea what % of a sin that is so haven't counted it - but feel I have to own up to it

kayleigh · 22/07/2003 22:17

Oh god i am sooo sad. I have just remembered there are on average 10 maltesers in a mini pack (my kids count them to make sure they have the same amount). So if a pack is 5 sins, that makes my stolen malteser a whole half sin.

Therefore a recount of my sin total for today makes it 8.5 sins.

I need to get out more

kayleigh · 22/07/2003 22:19

girly, Well done on your loss. That is so good. And welcome to the every day weighers club.

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:21

Your not sad Kayleigh, my dh wanted to know how many sins were in a third of a sausage roll that he polished off at our picnic today

OP posts:
Girly · 22/07/2003 22:22

I have a question, If your doing a Roast chicken for Sunday dinner, can you just eat the meat and not the skin and then it be sin free or have to take all the skin off before cooking?
