girly, that is fantastic, well done. You definitely deserved the ice-cream.
And welcome to the every day weighers club.

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:25

Thanks Kayleigh, i shall weigh in tomorrow morning (as your lighter in the morning)!

it's fine to cook the chicken in the skin. But then when it's cooked remove all the skin, and any fat before eating. That's exactly what we had tonight - it was yummy. And enough left over to have in a salad to take to work tomorrow.

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:28

Thanks Kayleigh, the though of roasting a whole chicken without the skin on, yuck! dry as a bone springs to mind!

girly, I hate touching chicken skin for some reason - it makes my flesh crawl. So when i roast i buy the cook in the bag one from tesco. Very lazy but at least I don't have to touch the raw skin at all.

My spelling and posts are going haywire. I'm not used to being up this late so i will say night-night ! Have got so involved in chatting have missed big brother. Which isn't a bad thing actually. Sooo boring this time - but that's another thread. Goodnight.

Girly · 22/07/2003 22:36

me too! night

Oh and new potatoes roasted are great as your B choice, they don't need to be boiled. Frylight a load of new potatoes and sprinkle with sea salt, yummy!! Actually I don't eat the chicken, but never mind!

This morning I think I was within 3lbs of target so I'm going for a weigh in to be sure. A quick question for you daily weighers, do you make sure you do the following

  1. have a wee before
  2. line the scales up in EXACTLY the same place
  3. Stand on them in a particular way - one footed or whatever
  4. do the best of three weighs!! Or am I just totally bonkers
winnie1 · 23/07/2003 09:39

I actually forgot it was Wednesday today and remembered that I was supposed to weigh myself as I sat at my desk! (I think this must have been subconsiously deliberate as I've had several bad days.) Am very stressed. Feel very guilty but I will weigh tomorrow and aim not to gain this week (rather than loose weight) as work is really stressful and I am having to do really late nights, trying to reach deadlines, toddler is waking up the moment I walk in the door at 12.15 a.m and playing up for an hour or so (and he wakes up at 5 EVERY MORNING in bouncier than Tigger mood ) and we are moving house at the weekend... Dh and I are desperate for a weekend away... which would be a good incentive to loose weight

Well done everybody on your success... your stopping me from thinking of giving up!

kayleigh · 23/07/2003 10:30

crunchie, regarding your questions on daily weighing

  1. YES I have a wee before
  2. YES I line the scales up in EXACTLY the same place
  3. I stand on them with both feet, but hold my tummy in (!)
  4. I don't do the best of three weighs I just do one. But if it's too high I will leave it half an hour (or more if it's a non work day) and try and wee again and then weigh again !!

Either we are all totally bonkers or we are all totally sane and everyone else is nuts. I'll opt for the latter

And by the way, do you all have digital scales or do you have the ones where you can change your weight depending which angle you look at the dial from. Mine are digital and weigh in 0.2 of a lb so are pretty accurate. Although i only take notice of the whole lbs figures as otherwise I could go quietly insane worrying that i'd put on 0.4 of a pound or something.

Boe · 23/07/2003 10:32

Make sure you breathe out when you weigh yourself - it actually makes a big difference.

Have first weigh in tonight - may not be able to go though as super hectic at work - but am gonna try to stop talking to you guys and do something for a change!!

Having meatball curry tonight, not sure about lunch, maybe small jacket pot with tuna.

Am going to kepp sins to a min of 5 today to make up for yesterday.

Sound like its a bit stressful in your house at the mo Winnie, don't be too hard on yourself about the weight. Good luck with the move, I imagine its hard to plan the meals with all this going on.

Winnie, I move on the 1st August, third time in 12 months! I hate it sick and fed up of boxes. Mine are digital scales and yes I do all the things in the list. Not a good week this week tho' but I shall save an official announcement till Friday. I really wanted to loose anothe r 2lb this week so I would have lost half a stone, but its not going to happen. I am not giving up tho, about to go for a long walk and am still climbing the stairs for a wee.

traceylou · 23/07/2003 13:12

Hi hope you dont mind me joining you.

Ive been doing the slimming world diet for about a year although ive not been to class for about 2 months.

Ive lost 2 stone on the diet and want to lose another 2. Because I'm at work a lot though I dont really get to go to the classes so I thought I would see what you lot are up to and hopefully get some inspiration!

lilibet · 23/07/2003 13:16

Hello, glad to have you here. Do you do a mix of days or just green?

didn't go for my walk as it started to pour down.

lilibet · 23/07/2003 13:20

Girly just read down - really really well done! Congrats. I am sooo Jealous!!

kayleigh · 23/07/2003 13:23

welcome tracylou. i'm finding this thread better than a weekly class. You can come in anytime for a bit of moral support.
Are you one of the daily weigh club too?!

Mmmmmm Girly, that egg filling would make a great sandwich filler for all those picnics I'm planning on taking the boys on during the school holidays. Because of course the weather is going to be wonderful for the whole 7 weeks !

traceylou · 23/07/2003 13:59

Thanks everyone

Of course I weigh myself every day. Then wish I hadnt afterwards! I have mostly green days but I do find it hard finding things to have for packed lunch. Any suggestions?

Girly · 23/07/2003 17:52

Tracylou, the SW magazines are good for recipies, there are loads of yummy looking ones in the Aug/Sept issue you could try for inspiration.

OP posts:
traceylou · 23/07/2003 18:30

I'll have to get one, Ive not bought one for a while. Thought I was having a really good day today usually aim for about 10 sins. Ive had loads of free food but couldnt resist 2 custard creams earlier but now I feel gutted cos I could have had a packet of quavers or something that i would have lasted a bit longer! Any suggestions on a cereal bar that I can have instead of hi-fi bar?

Boe · 23/07/2003 18:52

Right am now off to be weighed if I actually make it from the end of Bishopsgate to New Elthan Station in 35 minutes - ha ha - no chance - hopefully she will still be there and I will be able to slope in at the end of class instead of slopping in at the beginning!!

Boss brought in huge pressie for DD which I also have to lug home on the train so am gonna have to try really hard and will probably lose weight in sweat before I get there (am gonna go for a poo before I leave hoping that that will knock off a few ounces - too much info huh!!)

Girly · 23/07/2003 18:58

Was a bit Boe

They sell a low sin bar at sw classes, other than that kellogs special k is 4 1/2, jordans frusili in tangy citrus is 6 1/2 and a mcvities go ahead in apple and sultana is 7. If you're stuck for lunches on green, crunchie gave some good idea's lower down, for me, who just does green its either sw quiche and salad, or pasta salad, or couscous salad or rice salad, or salad salad. When it gets a bit colder I'm going to move onto jacket spuds. Todays food:-
Breakfast, as per!
Lunch rice salad followed by kiwi fruit
Tea, just had pasta with some smoked salmon (B), low fat fromage frais, lemon juice and dill. Absolutley gorgeous! Totally stuffed.

aaaaaaaaarrggghhh forgot to mention soemone at work was handing out campinos today and I had two!! They were lovely scrummy and oh so good.
