deegward, that long term maintenence is actually the hardest part. It is teh thought that you will have to eat like this forever! I think I am going to have to try to learn to eat like a slim person. One who eats, but only a smaller portion. I think that is going to be the only way for me. Free food will be OK, but instead of a huge slice of cake a small one etc.

Who knows it is a real mental struggle for me.

Hoorahhh!!! - Lost me first stone. Been having trouble for the last 5-6 WEEKS, not gained, but either staying the same or losing the odd 1/2 lb. I have learnt along the way, that things look far far nicer in the shop than they actually taste. I've had some quite disappointing, cakes, ice creams etc. So hopefully that advice to myself will sink in, as it's definately true. But I do keep 'testing' just in case I'm wrong!

Again, I'm another, who finds the concept of eating like this for the rest of my life very, very depressing. I suppose we WILL learn that you 'can have your cake and eat it' but only once in a while, not everyday!!!

Thanks - been reading the thread, got some really good tips and feel really motivated now, I don't want to tell my friends etc that I'm going to SW as none of them have ever had a problem with their weight so I'm a bit embarassed about it

I've been at SW for just over a week now and I've lost 4 pounds already. I'm still not 100% I get what I can and can't have on each day though but I'm getting there - it feels like i can just eat and eat and eat!!

By the way are all quorn products free on SW?

hH ferrari - this thread is 2 years old, so you might be better off joining us on the current Slimming World thread, here .

Not all quorn products are free, no. The escalope type things with breadcrumbs on all have syns, as do the frozen 'meat' balls, and I think some of the ready meals like cottage pie etc.

Was it a particular product you were interested in?
