New thread, same old plan.

We are a bunch of varying-in-size ladies (with the occassional male visitor) who all want to eat more healthily. We include those who want to lose 50 lbs, those who have already lost 50 lbs, those with only a little to lose, and some who just like to chat.

Come, post lots, and you will get encouragement, sympathy, and ass-kicking as necessary

have just located errant memory stick in the kitchen in between the buns and the bananas . I wonder about myself sometimes....

NormaSknockers · 29/03/2010 15:37

Total that made me chuckle, I found my car keys in the fridge once!

verytellytubby · 29/03/2010 15:39

Hello. Can I join in? I need to lose a stone. My wine calories are not helping so decided to give up drinking in the week and I need to exercise more.

wastingaway · 29/03/2010 15:47

Trills it's my pesky RL name again. It usually passes me by on here, so I must be feeling massive sensitive.
You were being very kind and thoughtful to Alice though.

bellavita · 29/03/2010 15:50

Steady Norma

I love rice pudding - I would want to eat the whole can though.

TrillianAstra · 29/03/2010 15:51

at wasting - I never call people by thier RL names (often not even in RL)

Do the buns and the bananas form a convenient resting place for small electronic items in your house Total? At least it wasn't in the freezer behind the peas.

at trills/wasting/alice. I know Trills is straight talking but...I don't think she would call anyone massive unless pregnant

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 16:24

hells..... body acidity can affect arthritis/joint pain, that might be why wine can be an issue, I think it can affect it severely. Might be worth looking at.

''Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are acidic. This condition forces the body to borrow minerals?including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium?from vital organs and bones to buffer (neutralize) the acid and safely remove it from the body. Because of this strain, the body can suffer severe and prolonged damage due to high acidity?a condition that may go undetected for years.
Mild acidosis can cause such problems as:

Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
Immune deficiency.
Premature aging.
Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
Low energy and chronic fatigue.''

From t' web... I am supposed to mind mine for my Fibromyalgia...it does make a difference....

Trillian - evidently so, since I found DH's camera there too - and I don't think that was me. I do have a semi-explanation for the memory stick - I must have put it down while searching for a turkish delight chocolate in the kitchen before going out.

NormaSknockers · 29/03/2010 16:25

I'm the same Bella, I buy the WW ones as they come in little pots that are 1.5 points each. I can't buy the big tins otherwise I eat it all

Welcome Very

I'm thinking sausage & courgette pasta for tea....

TotalChaos · 29/03/2010 16:34

hello and welcome very (or not so very if you have only a stone to lose!)

I have the WW yoghurts atm, have tried the crisps/cheese biscuity ones, wasn't that keen, I prefer Walkers Lites or Snack a Jacks. The WW carrot cake slices are nice.

bellavita · 29/03/2010 16:34

Diet mission Shiney - you norty girl, you need to eat your full quota of points. Starving yourself will not do you any good!

hellsbelles · 29/03/2010 16:37

thanks Mitts. It does make sense. I will mention it t/m to the specialist. I did do 2 weeks without any alcohol (for my south beach) and I can't remember noticing a significant reduction in pain so I'm hoping it's not my trigger.

bellavita · 29/03/2010 16:41

TC - one bite though of those ww cakes and they are gone!

I do like the caramel snack a jacks. I don't eat crisps - would rather have chocolate.

Have just had an options hot choc.

TrillianAstra · 29/03/2010 16:59

Pls note I said Alice was feeling massive, I have no idea if she is massive yet!

Evening all

Just having some Bolognaise as am spinning later, have been good today

Juice (fresh apples, carrots and lemon)
Wholemeal pitta with salad leaves and 3 x extra light laughing cow

Hells, do you think something like Pilates or yoga may help? It may be due to your bedrest and you need to realign yourself or something?

Vinny, keep ignoring exfil, he is a shonky one, that one.

Total, I like those WW carrot cake slices too, though cannot stop at just the one unfortunately

How's your stomach now, Sazz?

ToccataAndFudge · 29/03/2010 17:05

ok - dilemma.

Was going to cook

Chicken drumsticks, homemade potatoe wedges and veg for the DS's for dinner.

I (tbh) probably wouldn't have eaten much of it as I don't like chicken drumsticks.

Now someone on another thread has mentioned chips and curry sauce and I'm now very tempted to go to the chippy..........I actually really fancy chips and curry sauce and will probably eat copious amounts..........ok not as healthy, but..........

Tocc - go to the chippy - it's important you eat as well. you can always order some beans and mushy peas to make for a ahem full balanced meal!

sazzles - agree that the caramel and berry ones are a touch ahem synthetic, but they are the lowest fat variants.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 17:13

I have had a desperately tired carb fest..... I am having chronic nightmares again and just don't sleep. I did walk about 5 miles today, most of it briskly but feel with myself because I had started doing quite well.

I will drink water for the rest of the evening, or herbal tea.

hello very... welcome.

When I lost my 3 1/2 st I mostly lived on tomato juice and nuts..... (It was 4st but put a bit back on).

bellavita · 29/03/2010 17:28

Where is YanknCock and BoF?

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 17:29

Evening

at Trills and Wasting. Not feeling too big now tbh, when i felt huge i think it was because i was constantly hungry and eating loads. Now i haven't got as much of an apetite. I think i have put on about 12lbs. The baby is kicking the hell out of me though.

Have felt so tired this afternoon and doing the horses really felt like i was wading through treacle (but not as yummy!) Now enjoying a cup of tea and some cow biscuits.

BTW if you notice any random spelling/extra letters/missing letters in my posts, my pregnancy brain is really taking over. 2 nights now i have woken DH up because i thought i could smell burning/gas no hope

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 17:32

Bella - Yank is staying with inlaws.

DH is doing dinner. Chicken biryani from a jar of course. Will probably have a beer this evening, feel like i need it.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/03/2010 17:33

right inspired by the absolutely smugness bitchiness of someone on that thread...........I am off to the chippy.
