I think dried mango is like shoe leather - very sweet shoe leather

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 13:13

points are based on calories and fat, I think there is oil in an oat cake. And it's two ryvitas and three rice cakes. I think.

DD loves monster house, it's her dvd of choice when friends visit. I am going to see nanny macphee tomorrow with Boco and dds. Then a chinese buffet afterwards. From the, um, diet section of course.

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 13:14

agree, dried mango very nice but dried pineapple like little chewy wheels.

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 13:22

Oh, that's inetersting about the cakes, Lemur. I've used oil in carrot cake but not sponge.

pointydog · 14/04/2010 13:29

will be interested to hear about diet options at chinese buffet

TigerFeet · 14/04/2010 14:47

do you all still graze box?

i have had my third today and it's bloody grapes AGAIN

i buy grapes all the time myself anyway

grapes is not a smashing treat that arrives unexpectedly through the post because in the course of a week I have forgotten about it

i've never made a cake with oil, i didnt realise it could be done

been for a walk into town this morning, prob about 4 miles in all with a break in the middle for bf group. we will have to go back tomorrow, the new school bag we bought for dd1 is too small to fit all her stuff in , still it's a nice walk and the weather is good.

enjoy your -low-- fat chinese food guad - sweet & sour is fine, after all it's just vinegar and pineapple juice and tomatoes and batter isn;t it?

pointydog · 14/04/2010 15:02

muffins and carrot cake usually made with oil, I think.

My mum uses stork just for baking and her cakes are so so light you would not believe. She bakes cakes for a proper cafe too.

elliemental · 14/04/2010 17:44

ds1's sleepover cancelled to to his friend's fuckwittery father throwing a tantrum.
ds cried (he is 12!)

Now have to take both boys to cinema tomorrow....(£££££££££!)

off to alloty now for a bit. I love these lighter evenings.

CoupleofKooks · 14/04/2010 17:49

awwww ellie poor ds1
i think it great compliment to you that he can have a cry when he needs to

now don't all start talking about crackers again

i have to admit to huge fuckwittery, i had one of those chocolate brownies again that made me feel awful last time, and i bought one intending to only eat half, and i did, and then i sat and picked at the rest of it (they really are stupendously delicious) and felt awful AGAIN
i had to go off to the loo and do deep breathing because i was getting such a sugar rush and almost getting the fear because of it
so am officially a twit
but my god they taste alright

CoupleofKooks · 14/04/2010 17:53

i like chocolate coated dried mango
actually let me rephrase that
i LOVE chocolate coated dried mango
this one in particular

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 18:13

Oh no, Elli! Poor ds. Thats really disappointing.

Franny - I have eatena scone in the park and then stuffed a large white cocolate cookie absentmindedly while moaning to a friend about garden stresses. I practically inhaled it without thinking.

I want a drink too, but no points left unless I don't eat and I expect I ought to have something proper. I feel quite edgy and urrgh and stressed. I'd like a rolly really. But I won't.

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 18:18

I have made a lentil soup wit leftover lentil salad and it tastes like devils slop. Don't try it.

elliemental · 14/04/2010 18:35

ha. I'll add it to my list along with curly Kale soup {blech} and veg soup made with chard (slimy devilish bile)

Guad, your lentil salad sounds intruging. Whassat?

oh god, I am dooomed. Boys just made rocky road........

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2010 19:21

I think my wise comment about oil is a load of shite. I was thinking of cakes rather than sponges I made a pinapple and banana cake yesterday which was lovely. I had a sliver of it today and took the rest to a friends. That way I get the enjoyment of baking without eating the whole lot. Desperate times and all that....

banana 1 1/2
satsuma
slice of hummingbird cake
Rocket salad with sweet pot falafel, hummusm cucumber sticks and radishes.
Asparagus and parmesan frittata with rocket salad, cherry toms, cucumber, radishes and coleslaw.
10 mini eggs

pointydog · 14/04/2010 19:55

my f&v has taken a downward turn

weetabix, milk
glass of apple raspberry and grape juice
tangerine
2 ryvita, philly and cherry toms
crumpet
salmon red perpper humous, pickled veg (can someone very knowledgeable confirm that pickled veg do not ocunt as a postion?)

ONly 4. I'll have another tange later.

pointydog · 14/04/2010 19:56

elmel, that's rubbish re sleepover. Did the dad not want to be host? Did your ds want a sleepover at yours?

elliemental · 14/04/2010 20:56

Pointy. the boy's dad is no longer with his mother. So he threw a tantrum because the boy's mum had planned the sleepover without realising that Dad was going to choose this very night to be an active Father and take time off to interact with his children....and how dare she have arranged something.
She was in tears when she rang to tell me. Her ds was in tears and so was mine.
Great.

Have just watched Boy In Sttriped Pyjamas and have sobbed myself stupid. And dh andds1 totally traumatised.
I've read the book. i cried then. Why do i do this to myself? Why?

CoupleofKooks · 14/04/2010 20:58

so why do pickled veg not count? i don't see why they can't
they are obviously not going to be top of the f+v heirarchy, but they are better than eg alphabites

i want lemur's food
i am just now, on the cusp of listing, realising i have done really badly today

cereal pineapple mango pear raisins

cheese roll, quorn and philadelphia roll
half a shortbread biscuit

chocolate brownie of doom, with ice cream

crappy shop quiche, cucumber, tomato, pepper and beansprout salad, mayonnaise, new potatoes, butter

ds1 had second reasonable evening of getting to sleep!
poor dp, who thought he was getting easy option walking ds2 to sleep in the pram, is still out

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2010 21:27

Oh god yeah, The Boy In the Striped Pyjama's. I have never read the book so I didn't know the story. The film stayed with me for ages.

I hope your dp isn't still treading the pavements

Had a mini breakthrough (I think) with Baby Lemur at bedtime tonight. I've always fed him to sleep or into submission at bedtime and I've recently been thinking he needs to start being able to move towards doing it himself. So tonight when he didn't fall asleep on the breast I popped him in his cot, but held his hand while he layed down. He had a bit of a wail at first but then when he realised that I wasn't going anywhere he just laid there holding my hand, then just fell asleep on his own

Boco · 14/04/2010 21:53

hello
Sorry i've not been a good dieter - I thought it best not to just report lots of cake and bad things. I have been getting lots of exercise with the girls though, we've been doing lots of free things like nature walks and bird watching and launching rockets. I've not eaten badly really, just Not Good Enough.

Looking forward to nanny mcphee guad. Might ask dp to pick us up so I can drink at the chinese buffet - is that appropriate?

Boco · 14/04/2010 21:55

Ok I am going to list

2 yellow plums
meusli

salad and tuna sandwich

cake
(my friend made it would have been rude not to have eaten 2 slices)

macaroni cheese, peas, carrots
banana

Is that bad?

CoupleofKooks · 14/04/2010 22:02

s'better than me boco
i must further report an apple some edam and a mini magnum
dp returned at 9 pm not in a good mood
ds2 still wide awake and singing
it wiped the smile off my face when i had to take him upstairs and feed him for 45 mins before he would drop off

i could not finish boy in striped pyjamas
i was liking it terribly but i just couldn;t

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 22:03

Gid no, there won't be drinks in the diet corner, there will only be chicken and the fair breath of a lemon. At least we won't be tempted by the soupy ice-cream and sara lee gateaux.

Go ahead bar

eddame and some other bean salad and leaves
tuna

scone
cookie

lentil soup [bleuurgh]

toast and ginger jam. Apple

hmm, not great is it.

Guadalupe · 14/04/2010 22:05

I haven't seen or read that film. I go through phases of being able to cope with them.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2010 22:06

sara lee

Saying that I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread when I was young.

lol at ds2 being wide awake and singing. They're such funny little things aren't they?!
