Of course! The Sazzles/Yank meet-up! Was it fab? [Frantically reads back posts]

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 20:54

oh, and for Georgi re the soft furnishings

I need help with choosing something to go with my new sofa. Either a 2 seater or a big armchair - we three can all cuddle up on the new sofa (bliss) but will need something for when we have guests etc. and to just 'look right' IYSWIM.

Cant be a fortune, but can allow a little bit time to save - or to look on ebay
Must go with plum and a dark cream.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/01/2010 20:54

Jet....I have booked a room if that is OK....

I am very very quite excited about it all

And shopping!..

And coffee and Muffins!!

Possibly dancing!!!

I have died and gone to heaven.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/01/2010 20:56

Glad Sazz and Yank had a lovely time..no surprises about the talking if the thread is anything to go by

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 20:57

Mitts, i too am excited, though quite anxious about the dancing The last time i was in a pub/club was 2003

No doubt i will be on here nearer the time asking for help with what to wear, what hair, what shoes etc etc etc

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 20:57

Ok, I have risotto bubling away (I don't stand over it and stir, I just throw in liquid and do something else for a while).

In the meantime I am tidying up some leftover doritos

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 21:00

I met up with Alice for coffee before Christmas quietly, so that if shethought I was a weirdo she wouldn't have to be polite at all the 'how did it go' questions

Georgimama · 21/01/2010 21:02

I would say leather, jet. For one thing it's practical with children and for another it totally gets you around that "how do I find another sofa made of the same/similar enough fabric to this random bargain" problem. We have a leather sofa and a fabric sofa and they "go" beautifully.

thanks sazz, will do

Georgi, i was thinking the same, of getting something contrasting rather than a near miss, so that it doesnt look like i tried to get a match and failed

Just need to find something now

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 21/01/2010 21:08

Oh ffs, how the hell am i supposed to catch up with all of today's chat? Have skimmed through and the only thing i remember is a lot of talk about the meet (but absolutely no detail) and that Jet needs a sofa and took a while to look at the bottom of the box. Could some one in one post summarise what is going on with the meet up?

I also have never been on a girly night out. And tbh feeling very panicy about the whole concept. Part of me thinks just meet up for few hours in the day and escape. the other part of me think the is no way in hell i want to be getting a taxi out of town if i choose to stay and have no plan on night bussing it.

Mitts -I have a couple of days off next week and depending on when i am school hunting i am either free monday or wednesday. If you want to meet up. Can let you know sat which day i am doing stupid milage, and thus which day free.

wastingaway · 21/01/2010 21:10

All right, you chatty Kathys.

Been to playgroup, then a marathon walk around lake this afternoon. Followed by feeding DS chocolate cake, while I had none.

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 21:13

Hello hello to everyone who isn't here all day

Oh that would be fab Chaos . They are pretty good days for em to be flexible as well....

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 21:17

[Admires wasting's halo]

Hey DEM

Hotel is decided upon, and I think we're eating tapas at El Rincon but nothing else concrete. Do you reckon you'll stay over?

YanknCock · 21/01/2010 21:17

Trills, I've had no takers for Chez Yank, so yours if you want it! If you like, I can pick you up at Piccadilly in the day, we can come back to mine and drop your stuff and get ready, then get DH to drive us in for whatever time we're starting.

Back from ballroom dancing. I really need to do my pelvic floor exercises, was very close to PMSL due to DH being exceptionally silly. Definitely good exercise that, we were both sweating at the end. DH was so cute, looked so happy and pleased with himself when he got the steps right! I'm in lurrrve with him all over again tonight. I can hear him singing to DS upstairs.

Sazz, lovely again to meet you, hope when you see me in June there will be a noticeable difference in my size! BabyYank sends his regards/burps

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 21:20

Evening all

Leather is a good idea, Jet, how exciting, it is amazing what you can find on Ebay. My Brother kitted out his entire flat from Ebay when he moved in, then sold it all on Ebay when he moved in with his soon to be wife.

Is it wrong to say that very often I look at what I buy for the boys for Christmas/Birthday and think "Umm Scleich/Playmobil, that'll have a good resale value on Ebay when they outgrow it"?

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 21:21

DEM re the meet up. I have decided to hang with you and then we can panic support each other

I am actually very nervous too, but trying not to think about being nervous IYSWIM. It is only 5 days before my exam, so i figure those nerves will take over.

and thanks for the pressies

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 21:22

Awww Yank, that brought a tear to my eye, you old romantic, you

Sazz, are you going to make me get up at 6am and do a workout???

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 21:24

Yank - i hope you are not offended i didnt take up your very kind offer - just i have never stayed in a posh hotel before

I would love to go ballroom dancing Do you think i should make that a requirement on my internet dating

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 21/01/2010 21:24

Am in too minds DIB - not a social bunny sometimes and sometimes am. Can get panicy and need babysitting through social events. Funny about food. Must be no spice - at all. so hit and miss really. Might well book hotel as can slink off if needs be but have option of staying longer if want. not sure

Trills - I have used php and found it fairly easy to pick up i have a basic program lurking with it used to recall data from a spread sheet that might be able to email you need to find file(twas a college project so no work of art)

Mits will txt you when i know which day and we can sort something. I have the luxary of a few days off and want to do something fun on one of them. so sounds fab.

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 21:25

Fantabulous Yank! That's very sweet with your DP.

Lizzy I think that's v sensible with the presents. If you can sell-on after they don't want them any more then that means you can get them better stuff in teh first place, and also some other children will enjoy it later on.

Is the Radisson the old Ramada?
I still can't get onto the website, even via Chrome, which usually works for me.

If so, you are right next to Harvey Nicks and Selfridges Shiney and Bella
