And i hope you have alovely night

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:34

x post hells

hellsbelles · 21/01/2010 13:35

of course - no problem on the card. Once we get the o.k. on where we are going I'll book for you and me (and anyone else that needs me too!)

Now I have to go and work out my tax return with a hangover - urghhh. Joys of being self employed.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:38

a little AIBUR on this thread if that is ok

I am in desparate need of a new sofa My little 2 seater and 1 chair has sadly seen very many better days, and it is a struggle for the three of us to cuddle up together and watch a film or something. I was supposed to be getting one from freecycle before xmas, but that fell through.

So, due to a severe lack of funds, am i being unreasonable to consider going to bright house/perfect home or the like? I cant get normal credit as i am not working, and i cant get a loan with the credit union i am in for another 3 months. My sofa will not last that long

I can afford the weekly payments, but am very at the interest amounts etc. But, needs must and all that So, am i being unreasonable??

VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 13:40

Dont think we need Shineys approval for a cheaper hotel, just go for it

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 13:46

Oh jet please dont go to those theiving bastards bright house

Could you not open an account with littlewoods, or the like? or keep looking on freecycle something is bound to come up soon, i would hate to see you ripped off, they charge such high interest at those places

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 13:49

Jet, nooo, you can't use Bright house, promise me you won't line those thieving robbing get's pockets!

OK, are there any on Ebay?

Hmm, have you put a "wanted" thing on Freecycle.

Hmm, could you contact Surestart or somesuch? Am sure that there are some schemes for second hand furniture being available for people on benefits?

PLEASE don't use Brighthouse, promise me?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 13:49

Cheaper hotel - well yes why not.

I don't plan to roll in until the early hours anyway.

If no one wants to share I'll book and seduce BoF to stay in my room mwuhahahaa

We really need to go for food at some point though, what are thoughts on this?

tapas could be good - I know a fab place too.

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 13:50

See, Vinny agrees with me, she is just a quicker typist.

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 13:51

But I am a wuss, Vinny.

I will if you will..

VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 13:52

Our leader just texted me and said she would be happy in a cardboard box, so looks like we are booking the Raddison, and Shiney is sleeping on the street

OP posts:
jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:52

i know vinny but due to a less than perfect credit score (when i was really poorly) i cant get a catalogue or any normal credit facilities. I was desparate to get one before xmas, as this one i have now was given to me by a friend instead of taking it to the skip - so you can imagine what state it is in

I cant bear the thought of another three month with this, and junior banished to her bedroom just so she has somewhere to sit! The two seater is more like a big armchair, so a tight squeeze for both of us, even without mini, and the armchair has lost its support altogether so is mainly used for mini (who is so light she doesnt fall through it)

I guess the fact that i cant get one a normal way is karma for screwing my credit up when i was with my ex

I just cant see any other option. I have looking on freecycle, both my local and near local ones since about november, and i never seem to get one, apart from the one that fell through. I have even been looking at second hand ones, and they are still too much

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 13:53

Jet I agree - you will pay over the odds for the sofa anyway, then pay stupid amounts more in interest.

Can you now get an Ikea card?

Or ask on freecycle, ebay, local free ads.

I know that feeling an it's awful but please don't sink yourself into debt when you don't need to.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 13:54

Littlewoods are quite lax with their credit scoring. Try them?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 21/01/2010 13:54

Talk to me about the graze box as it sounds great but not sure about wanting to sign up for a long time.

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 13:54

Jet, what about these here,
direct.tesco.com/q/N.1998915/Nr.99.aspx?Ns=P_HIDDEN_Stock_Available%7C1%7C%7CP_SORT_Price&btnResultS ort.x=20&btnResultSort.y=7
Some very cheap, and delivery too, they do interest free credit as well?

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 13:56

TDWP, El Rincon???

Jet, some of those are under £200, how much money do you have at the moment, could we all chip in?
I would be happy to put towards it.

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 14:00

Jet, Asda have some for £140, Here

I can paypal you £20, maybe more if you wait until 6th Feb?

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 14:07

Ah, the Radisson prices exclude VAT, so 105 including. Is this still OK?

I've booked my (king size - mmmm) room, as they don't take any money until you arrive. If plans change, no problem!

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 14:08

Sorry Jet, I am being all bolshy and bossy

I do have a plan...will FB you

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 14:08

I would chip in too as I missed the boat for the xmas appeal. (Or just got forgotten with all the delays)

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 14:13

THis one is Buy Now, pay nothing until Feb 2011, you could save up and pay no interest?

Here, or there are other ones too

Sorry for being bossy, Jet, places like Bright House just annoy the arse off me.

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 14:16

Jet, have you looked on GumTree? They have loads of stuff and prob have a site for your area?

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 14:17

Our sofa was from the local Salvation army shop, if that helps.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 14:18

oh you guys, i wasnt hinting

I guess i kind of hoped you would say, oh well, if that is your only choice, then go for it But i really do know what you are saying - it is a total rip off.

I have tried for a catalogue - no go.

THose asda sofas are lovely, i esp like this as it comes as a 2 and a 3 - i may be able to cobble enough for the 2 seater by a couple of weeks, but not sure if it will be out of stock by then. ANd then i would need to take the risk of the 3 seater being available when i have saved up for that.

I also really like this as it is a bargain for both of them, but again, by the time i have saved, they will be out of stock.

Oh please please dont think that i am hinting for handouts etc - i guess i didnt think my post through
