Hairy truckers on THIS thread..Nooooo!!

Poledra · 21/01/2010 11:35

MyCat, I read that as you'd lost 2 pounds on Ford Focus, and was mystified as to what one's car choice had to do with weight loss....

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 11:38

BoF can confirm I am not a hairy trucker - but I am a bit of a wine soaked loon.

So who wants to share a room with me? hehee

Is it agreed on the malmaison?

bellavita · 21/01/2010 11:41

Me and Vinny are sharing >

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 21/01/2010 11:44

Poledra - I have been known to do energetic things in and around a few cars that may well have lost me a couple of lbs but never a ford focus.

ShowOfHands · 21/01/2010 12:16

I never weigh myself either. It's all just numbers innit? I know from being weighed by the doctor that I was more than 11 stone days after giving birth, and just before Christmas I was under 9. I don't peer too closely as I can't bring myself to know care. It's an interesting tool I grant you but not the whole story. My dh has quite a high bmi according to traditional methods but he's actually just muscular with a ridiculously low body fat percentage.

I actually agree with the mad hairy arsed troll eloquent and linguistically challenged erudite poster last night. Women shouldn't drink in pregnancy. They also shouldn't wear clothes that flaunt their condition. In ideal circumstances where the economic climate would allow for it, pregnant women would be sent away to rural retreats from the point the pregnancy becomes apparent to the outside eye, no contact would be made with them and they would return when they've lost all of the weight and got the baby into a routine. Pregnant women have no place in society. I'm sarcastic deadly serious. Actually, I find it quite easy to be insufferably smug with an 'oh I didn't touch alcohol while pg' when actually I'm dull teetotal at all times.

Right, daily diet tip...

Take a course of antibiotics. Hope to get oral thrush. Your tongue will be so sore that you can't swallow. If you're very lucky you might lose a chunk out of the side of your tongue and it will take a week to heal, extending the time that you are unable to eat Real Food and are forced to exist solely on soup and water. Again, it's a commitment and there's some pain involved but you either want to lose weight or you don't.

I'm off for a run. Keep your ears peeled and Norfolk local radio will be screeching about middle-aged women who shouldn't be wearing lycra running through fields and upsetting the cows.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 12:24

Devil - i think we have all more or less decided on the raddison now, as malmaison, although maga lush, is also sadly mega expensive

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 12:37

Raddison sounds good to me! I'll book myself as soon as everyone else does.

Will we all get dressed up together and have a cocktail in the bar?

I'll probably wear a glam dress, but flat shoes - can't have people I've only just 'met' having to carry me/pick me up off the floor because of heels hehe.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 12:43

Oh yeah - this thread is supposed to e about healthy eating hehe.

My strategy for the next fortnight is to have poached egg on a Bagel and a smoothie for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, then buy an M&S salad or stirfry type thing for dinner. They are so tasty but low calories/ fat.

Also will go to the market and make up some huge fruit salad to keep in the fridge.

Hopefully no snacks, but if I need to I'll make a big bowl of low fat yoghurt, garlic and cucumber and eat it on homemade chapatis - very very low fat but yums.

VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 12:43

Was someone about the thread title? result! [attention seeker emoction]

Vinny

Devil - i dont mind sharing with you, if you dont mind sharing with me and my darth vader style CPAP mask It does make a low hum kind of noise, so if you need absolute hush, then i wont be offended it you dont want to

and OMG - i hadnt even considered on what to wear.....

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 12:47

P.S check out my profile and coo at my Dc on Halloween. I still cry with laughter at DD's costume.

Mainly because she got very bored by the Halloween party/ Trick or treating and very tired. She was walking home with her big dinosaur head held low and tear streaks in her face paint, I ended up carrying her (I was a witch/ pirate hybrid). We got many laughs as people saw me carrying a sleeping dinosaur along the main road home.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 12:51

very very cute picw TDWP

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 12:52

Where's Shiney? We need her to OK the Radisson before we all book [incapable of doing anything without Cult Leader's Verfication]

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 12:53

i was thinking the same DIB

traceybath · 21/01/2010 12:55

Afternoon all.

Fab - I weigh myself pretty much most days first thing in the morning - don't think it matters when you do it as long as you do it at a similar time for each weigh in.

So I didn't drink through my first 2 pregnancies and had 3 small glasses of wine in my third pregnancy - does that make me very bad .

Just had a very late breakfast of special k and will shortly have some fruit - how terribly exciting.

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 12:57

Mmm, graze box has just arrived

Black pepper cashews, olives in mediterranean marinade, chilli seeds, and some kind of dried fruit thing with pineapple in it.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:05

what are these graze boxes, and how much are they, and where from? I have read a few mentions of them!

Shiney - you are so very kind (i am assuming the lovely box of things for DDs is from you as you said you were sending something). Mini is so into jigsaws at the moment as well as practicing her handwriting, and Junior loves all things crafty, so thanks so much.

In fact, when mini wakes from her nap (nursery every day takes a lot out of 3 year olds) she will love playing with the paper packaging aswell!

VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 13:09

Graze

You get your first box free and second half price if you have a discount code, i can give you my code, but if Trill gives you hers she will get £1 off her 3rd box

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 13:13

Aww, thanks Vinny, that's sweet, but you can give out your code.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:19

thanks, they look lovely

VinegarTits · 21/01/2010 13:20

ok cheers, i donate my £1's to the rainforest anyway

Jet (and anyone else who wants to try a graze box) my discount code is 9KTNMYZY

hellsbelles · 21/01/2010 13:23

no sympathy - I don't deserve it (though secretly love it!) Dreading going out tonight and will be on the sparkling water all night.

If someone needs me to book their room on a card I'm happy to do that if it helps. I'm fine with a single as I fart and snore.

Is the plan food & booze? I feel too old for clubbing but perhaps with dutch courage will follow the crowd!

Can't wait to see where we end up. DH thinks I'm insane but has begrudgingly agreed to this!

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 13:28

hells, i may be a match for you then as my mask filters out any potential whiffiness plus, as i dont have a card, i could send a cheque off to you if you are paying now - otherwise give you the cash when we are there?

hellsbelles · 21/01/2010 13:32
  • no don't worry - I'm not going to inflict myself on sharing with anyone - but happy to sort out your room fee (and whoever else needs me to) on the card. And no worries about sending cheques as I don't think they'll take the cash till the day we could sort that out when we meet.

God I'm feeling rubbish. I am such a bloody lightweight!
