Then I is quite clearly scum, Yank as I probably had a glass of wine on a Sunday quite often when I was pg. I had steered lear of that particular thread though, as it had Self-Righteous Loon written all over it.

Hello ladies

My friend was telling me that travelodge are doing a january sale with family rooms starting from £29 (depending on area) don't know if that helps at all?

I won't be coming i'm afraid (pretends she has actually been invited ) will be about 32weeks by then and not sure i want to be so far from home [wuss emoticon] (realistically won't be able to handle the pace) Jealous though

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 10:27

I imagine we'd need to call them to negotiate a group discount. On the other hand, their rooms are already heavily discounted at the mo. Not sure how many are available, of course.

I'm in, Madisson for preference, single room [doesn't share well with others emoticon]

Alicetheinvisible · 21/01/2010 10:29

Alcohol in pg? Never! I have only had about 4 or 5 so far this time (i am 10weeks) that must make me a scummy mummy, drinking vodka with my morning coffee

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 10:30

How much is a single room, DIB?

Of course you're not invited, Alice, noone was, we just piled in!
You don't fancy being token pg lady watching the bags whilst we chase after men and dance drunkenly with papier mache cocks (I am obsessed, I know)on our heads then?

Disclaimer, I will not be chasing after men!

TrillianAstra · 21/01/2010 10:31

AIBU on alcohol in pregnancy is basically "AIBU to have a judgey opinion that is contradicted by real scientific medical evidence?" to which the answer is of course "YABVU, and a bit dim"

You have been invited Alice, I definitely saw someone asking if you were around and and then speculating on your degree of pregnancy by June and wondering if you would be up for it.

I'm happy to share, don't snore but sometimes talk in my sleep (not so much if passed out and drunk though).

YanknCock · 21/01/2010 10:33

I would have had more, but everything made me sick up to about 33 weeks, then again from 37 weeks. I just didn't have the time to get my gin bottle and roll around in the street!

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 10:34

£80 for a twin, LL

YanknCock · 21/01/2010 10:34

very succinct Trill, you've nailed it. Wasn't really the OP, it was the loon who came in after.

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 10:35

single rooms are the same price - cheapest £81, though non-refundable and payable in full at time of booking.

The other option is £90, which is refundable, and payable on arrival

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 10:38

being such a worry wort(sp?) can i ask, what are we actually going to do when we are there? Is it simply a case of drinking all night? In the hotel or about town? What about food? And at which point will we be all hitting the gym?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 21/01/2010 10:42

I don't mind sharing... and will be very fine as long as I have a detailed map how to get to the hotel, or I shall get panicky and strange place angst.

I didn't drink at all with DS and he is a hyper manic whirlwind, whereas I had the occasional guinness with D and she is remarkably chilled by comparison.

I don't often go on AIBU threads because the really judgey people generally get on my mammaries, esp if they are 'holier than thou'.

The inside of my head itches......

Has anyone seen VT today?.....

I'm with you Lizzy...COCK! COCK! COCK! COCK! COCK![grin

Oh and ARSE!!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 10:48

12th June oh hell yes.

I'm happy to meet at Euston and get the train together with whoever - though I may have my DC in tow, I'll get my mum to drive over and collect them from Manchester and babysit for me hehe.

They don't release cheapo tickets until 12 weeks before the date - cheapest I've ever got was £16 return, but no doubt it will be more expensive on a Saturday. Oh and I tend to go first class if with the Dc - it's usually only a few pounds more when booked in advance.

I'm all excited, will we go dancing?

DreamsInBinary · 21/01/2010 10:56

Does anyone else think that group booking may be more hassle than it's worth? I think they'd require a deposit for a large number of rooms, and don't expect they'd discount much further than the current offer. (This is all guess-work, of course)

If we book rooms individually, then the only hassle will be sorting out the sharing thing which is way less risk than booking for ten peple on one card, and then discovering they are all hairy arsed truckers busy

jetcatisfrozen · 21/01/2010 10:56

dancing

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 21/01/2010 11:00

How often do you all weigh yourself?

Jetcat does once every 4 weeks. I don't have a set pattern but I am up and down and it annoys me. When in the month and day is it best to weigh yourself so you get the most accurate result.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 11:02

The Radisson is 5 star and £105.76 for a twin room.

And also I have used these before -it was £89 for a two bed apartment - very nice too

premierapartmentsmanchester.com/

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 11:02

I don't ever weigh myself - just go on how tight my clothes are.

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 11:04

I can book for myself, good plan, DIB.
I suppose I should inform DH of my plans, he will think I am mad, he already thinks I am bonkers even posting on MN

Dancing, yes, definitely. Though you will know I am drunk if I even set foot on the dancefloor, I am a crap dancer but for some reason alcohol seems to bring out my inner Flashdancer.

Be afraid!

Jet, we could do shopping/culture, or just eat and drink lots?

YanknCock · 21/01/2010 11:05

I weigh in weekly on a Monday. I find it helps me stay in control more on the weekends!

Lizzylou · 21/01/2010 11:05

Fab, I weigh once a week, just pick a good day for you (I chose Friday so I can undo weekend damage in the week).

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/01/2010 11:05

Oooh Flashdance was on itv2 late last night - I was delighted.

YanknCock · 21/01/2010 11:06

Lizzy, same here re: the dancing

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 21/01/2010 11:22

Morning all. I am v about all the meet up chat! I was all excited thinking I could make it then realised that abandoning DH & DC on holiday in Devon was probably not on (got my dates mixed up). It will be a lonely night on here on 12th June. Alice you and me can sob into our wines (I too was a scumbag mum who drank probably at least 2 drinks a week throughout both pg's from about 16 weeks) together.

Once again I should be working, but so far I have had a coffee, bought the Phase 8 dress (tracey - I'm feeling quite excited about it), read MN, put dinner on and had a sleep. The joys of working from home eh?

I've lost 2lb on Food Focus, btw. So feeling quite pleased with that.

SOH - I luuurrvveee you.. your posts really make me laugh, I may stalk you.
