After doing my budget, I am penniless too Vinny
Perhaps we should busk in Manchester for some beer money with your tin whistle and my ELC shakers???

Lizzylou · 20/01/2010 18:56

Sounds like you are doing well on WW, Shiney, how are you finding it? Is it easy for you to stick to?

jetcatisfrozen · 20/01/2010 18:56

that sounds like a really good day Shiney Has the change in routine, ie. going over to WW really made a difference in motivation levels

OT visit went really well i think, she has mentioned getting in touch with school to sort out some longer term involvement, but as junior is in secondary school, the actual OT wont be doing the work - she will arrange for someone in school to do that Not sure who - dont want some random teacher

She has also suggested i have a word with school about juniors drama lessons, as for a child with suspected aspergers and therefore very little aptitude for imaginative/role play, it is very hard. As she also struggles to communicate, she simply puts her head down and refuses to join in, and is therefore labelled a moody/sulky child --like- i once was.

But as school are not exactly quick to sort out such issues, and i am a bit of a wuss when it comes to pushing them, she (the OT) has suggested i wait until she has finished her report then she will accompany me to 'kick ass'

Oh, and she mentioned something about low body tone?? I was hoping that maybe DEM may know a little what that is

VinegarTits · 20/01/2010 18:57

good idea, and someone could sing, anyone know Danny boy? (thats all i can play )

I don't know if I know my reasons for comfort eating or if I have thought of a reason.

I wasn't able to eat when I wanted from 8-teenage years. I couldn't ask for food and couldn't help myself either.

I say that is why I comfort eat but don't know if it is really.

Lizzylou · 20/01/2010 19:19

Jet, the OT sounds really good, like she is on Junior's side and is going to work hard for her, that's fab

Fab, I would say that that level of lack of control for so long must have had an impact (but am no psychologist), perhaps you now overcompensate because you have the power over meals/food?

Vinny, I don't know Danny Boy, but we could get BOF in a low cut top to sit with us and I'll just randomly shake my shakers, we'd coin it in

Hello....

Hi again Fab..

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/01/2010 19:50

Lizzylou - I feel so happy when the fridge is full - even if most of it is for the children and a bit stressed when there is nothing in it.

MW!! Hello. How you doing??

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 20/01/2010 19:55

Hello all.

Hello Fab - I was on here a few threads back, couldn't keep up, but then decided to just come on and post when I could and not worry so much. So I come on, I chat away, I'm losing weight (gone from WW to Food Focus for now) and all is well.

Just need to add an ARSE shout here (looked good when Sazz used it earlier). I'm actually coming back from holiday on 12th June from South Devon so cannot make it to a meet up in Manchester. I am pretty pissed off about that! If the date miraculously changes to the one after, then I'm in!

traceybath - I'm going to order the Phase 8 dress tonight. The other one arrived and it was just not up to scratch!

Sazzles - very good to see you earlier. Next time I'll do us some lunch or something and we'll throw the dc in the garden let the kids play outside for some fresh air!

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/01/2010 20:01

I lost 3lbs the other week and put on one. Bum.

mamazon · 20/01/2010 20:05

are we not doing the malmaisson now then? must admit i did choke a bit when i saw the price....just figured you lot had just better make it worth the money

BoF - SGB has found a Photographer willing to sit through the trauma of shooting me semi naked so wont have to put you or DP through it after all. Im almost gutted about it really as it would have been a good excuse to come up. will have to arrange something anyway.

not had a bad day diet wise but not great either. I did manage to buy a pair of jeans that are 2 sizes too small for me today. i got into them (couldnt have done a month ago) but they are a little too tight still but only just. so i bought them as inspiration.
reckon in a fortnight i should be able to wear them.

ShowOfHands · 20/01/2010 20:13

Why don't you go camping?

shiney, you shouldn't get disheartened if you don't lose heaps and heaps of weight each week. In fact, it's a good thing that you don't. Although you see quite good results at first, when you're effectively losing weight, 2lbs a week is really the maximum you want to lose because after that it's probably not fat you're losing but lean tissue and water instead (hence why it goes back on again when you stop dieting). Effective, healthy, easy to maintain weightloss should be around 2lbs a week once you're into a sensible rhythm. I promise you, tis the best way.

Do you want to borrow dh? Pre-pc plod days he was a personal trainer and still is a triathlete. It's fairly motivating when he springs out of bed at 5am waffling on about running and workouts. You feel guilty for eating doughnuts for brekkie and lazing around MNing.

I can sing. I know all of the words to Danny Boy too. Hey up, we should go on MNTV. For comic relief maybe. I'll wear a bag on my head. I'm ridiculously shy in rl.

Lizzylou, you sound very positive . And your dinner sounds lovely.

bellavita, eek at making cake but you must be good or you wouldn't have been asked.

Fab, no fecker asked me to join in and chat here, I can't keep up and I waffle on a lot but I keep posting. It was the cock that drew me in. If only to embarrass my pseudo-mother shiney I shall carry on.

OH DANNNNYYYYY BBOOOOYYYYYYYY

Can you hear the glasses smashing?

VinegarTits · 20/01/2010 20:15

Well done on the photographer and the jeans Mamazon

I have lost a grand total of..............wait for it...............a grand total of.........................zero

as per usual, miss piggy here is the same weight she was 40 threads ago

Jet- it might be because i know a lot of crap about a lot of crap To my understanding low body tone is where the muscles are insufficient for the purpose eg through that of developing certain skills because they are hard, through lack of control issues. Basicially means that specific exercises are needed to build up the muscles (in terms of amount and strength) to do a job. I am assuming it is to do with fine and gross motor skills so assume that issues with these skills being developed that make it hard to do eg control a pencil have not been dveloped in some due to the fact that it is not pleasant/easy so not done through choice. Is that any muddier for you? Will try to construct a conherent thought in a bit but bit woolley headed at mo. trying to type and parent is not good for clarity.

Vinny - well done that girl no weight gain is FAB! Am going back to read. before trying this bedtime thing. hope to be back again in bit.

mamazon · 20/01/2010 20:31

not going down is still MUCH better than not going up!

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2010 20:35

ooo Oooo I'll sing, I'll sing Oh Danny Boy the pipes the pipes are Maybe if we all wear low cut tops we may get through a night without having to pay for any drinks Although that's never happened to me!!

I feel full of new resolve, have totally stuck to points today & have even banked 2!

YanknCock · 20/01/2010 20:36

Argh, have not been able to get on all day!

Definitely up for a meetup in Manchester, 12th June ok, though I too am quite broke so can't afford the hotel unless it will be cheap. Most likely I will get a cab back to mine (only about 20 min from Manc centre by motorway anyway) and I have a spare bedroom if anyone wants to stay over?

Sazz, are we still on for tomorrow? You didn't get trapped in snow did you? 1pm ok by me, not sure where to meet though! If I just turn up near St James Square around 1pm will that work? I will be the fat slummy mum with the pushchair. I am going to text you and go nose through your photos so I can recognise you.

Lamb & Mint burgers from the WW cookbook plus some couscous and roasted vegetables for dinner tonight. Yummy, but getting hungry again already.

VT, which WW meal did you have? Some are definitely better than others.

BitOfFun · 20/01/2010 20:37

Evening all- am feeling a bit ropey with cold today, have just been pottering in the house mainly. Have been asked to babysit a scrummy newborn on Friday evening for a couple of hours though- v excited and liable to re-christen him Iggy and keep him

Is Sazz about? I may have to cry off lunch tomorrow as I don't really feel well enough for a day of public transport [nesh]

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2010 20:46

Ooo Yank which WW cook book were the Lamb burgers from? They sound lovely!

BOF at the babysitting but at feeling ropey

VinegarTits · 20/01/2010 20:50

Hope you havent caught my cold bof

At first glance i thought you said a scummy newborn, i was thinking eugh an unwashed baby, not good that

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 20/01/2010 20:53

LOL Vinny

YanknCock · 20/01/2010 20:54

Norma, it was one just called 'Cook' with a green cover. From about 1.5 years ago, got it when I was going to meetings. Will post recipe on recipes thread if someone can post a link that way---and once I've finishing doing my dairy cow impression and can type with both hands again.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 20/01/2010 20:58

Quick little question ...

...Anyone here who has done Food Focus, did you ever have trouble getting on to the site? I keep trying to get on to log my calories for the day and it says the sites owner has used up their bandwith!
