For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

TigerFeet · 05/01/2010 21:38

no you see school must be open tomorrow - dd1 is having some tennis thing and she is doing my exercise for me

have spent hours clearing snowfrom round the house... the only physical exertion i've done recently

pointydig · 05/01/2010 21:39

I've been doing a fair amount of digging too. Well, shovelly digging, you know

TigerFeet · 05/01/2010 21:44

no pointy digging then?

like andrew marr on a sunday morning

asking the difficult questions

pointydig · 05/01/2010 21:45

is that meant to sound rude

TigerFeet · 05/01/2010 21:56

pointydig · 06/01/2010 11:30

snow in teh night. Bright today. All schools shut.

MollyRoger · 06/01/2010 12:37

Pah. Whirly snow showers then bright sunshine and schools open, much to kids'disgust.
I love all the snow, love love love it. I like deviation from the norm, you see. I love the way people are all smiley and talkative for once, united by dunkirk spirit.
I love wellies and being able to wear a hat wihtout people laughing and hot chocolate and clearing snow. And th elook of snow. An dplaying in it,.
In fact apart from the intense cold, I'd love to live somewhere snowy

SuperBunny · 06/01/2010 14:03

Molly, I love snow too, for all the reasons you mentioned. And I love the way it crunches under your feet. And the eerie silence. And the sparkles. But I don't like to drive in English snow. I think we have more slippery snow here than in the US. I was never frightened of driving in 2 feet of snow there yet here, I am rather nervous

Approx 1/2cm snow here and I have been sent home from work. It is closed again tomorrow but I have to go in again

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/01/2010 14:32

A bit of snow here, but not much. I want more. Maybe we'll get some tonight.

yesterday:

blueberries
banana
apple
cucumber
grapes
various veg on pizza
juice

littlerach · 06/01/2010 17:42

More snow thi safternoon.

head won't make a decision re school until tomorrow.
But it is forecast tp be v v cold, so don't ewant to drive over frozen snow really.

Molly, Ilove the quietness of the snow.
And th elight.
Our living room looks so bright when it has snowed.

MollyRoger · 06/01/2010 17:55
