For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Damn fine thanks Holly, and how about your good self?

Mulled wine sounds good to me, a bit of festive cheer never did anyone any harm.

poinsettydawg · 11/12/2009 16:28

My last banana is too brown now.
I have bought another two bags of clementines.

I think that is the extent of my fruit chat for now.

Oh, I am not too fond of mince pies. Someone brought some into work and I felt obliged to eat one. Overly curranty. No one really likes currants, do they.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 11/12/2009 16:30

what do they put in Eccles cakes? I am rather partial to a warm Eccles cake, but prefer a fat sultana myself.

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 16:36

Sultanas are yellow and evil. They have plans for world domination and will drown the world in sickly sweetness.
And currants have annoying gritty crunchy bits.
Gimme a raisin any day. But not the big ones

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 16:38

It's a bit fucking cold

poinsettydawg · 11/12/2009 16:43

yes, big raisins are intimidating.

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 16:46

Really shivering here!! Kids running around half naked and keep opening all the doors

hollyroger · 11/12/2009 16:47

I only like currants and that at xmas tbh...

Today I have eaten clementines, rasps, 3 mince pies, tomatoes and mushrooms.

Dinner may help me scape upto 7 or so. But every little helps. I have, however done lots of walking..

Pointy, it is so nice to see you back too!

Both dss have somehowunexpectedly managed to bring a friend home for tea. I am frantically making yorkie puds in an attempt to make 6 sausages stretch between 4 very hungry boys. Ulp.

Sultanas are intelligent. Raisins are shallow but rather likeable.

If you burn all the chairs Masked one I will bite your bum.

I will add fruit via liqueurs. That is my Christmas nod to planty products.

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 17:02

I might want my bum bitten [contrary]

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 11/12/2009 17:11

I am having mulled apple juice..yum. and have a big pan of tomato soup bubbling.

I have also had mushy peas and satsumas.

I also walk for about an hour a day, 1/2 hr brisk walking, 1/2 hr DD on a bike walking (which surprisingly can be slower).

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 17:12

Apple sauce. Christmas wouldn't be the same without apple sauce.

poinsettydawg · 11/12/2009 17:14

bread sauce surely. Carbs all teh way

MaskedYurter1 · 11/12/2009 17:16

ew no. I won't say what bread sauce makes me think of.
