For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

mollyroger · 28/08/2009 20:48

evening all,
pink like the idea of being bumble on this thread dp now looking at me like i've lost the plot!

Bad day
banana
spinach (half a bag but in a curry so surely not to be counted)
thats it and no excerise unless you count going around ikea? And yes did have meatballs and chips!
You all sound like your doing so well.
Inspire me with tales of how fabby your all feeling and how gorgeous you all are, and how your skin is free from spots (am currently a spot monster)

ThePinkOne · 28/08/2009 21:45

Sounds wonderful LR!

Spinach counts in curry Bumble

Bunny I didn't get it sent today. The woman in the coop didn't know if the photocopier was working cause 'it's been broken lately' and the queue was half was round the shop. I'll do it in the morning. Envelope's written and stamped and everything!

TooT, if you change back to a nice name I'll give you a sticker.

ThePinkOne · 28/08/2009 21:46

Oh and bumble if you had the lingonberries with your meatballs - which you did, right??? - you can probably get away with counting them Depends who's around!

TigerFeet · 28/08/2009 22:00

Oh god Ikea meatballs mmmmm [crap food obsessive emoticon]

DH will have to go to Ikea in the very near future and pick some furniture up for dd, but we can't go with him otherwise he won't be able to get the stuff in the car. It would be stupid and reckless in the extreme to take two cars. Wouldn't it? Yes it would.

mmmmmmeatballssssssssssss and cchhhhipssssssss mmmmmmm

Moll I'm glad your eyes are less leaky. We love you too you know

LR new school sounds lovely, it's great to have a nice working environment and I'm sure the children will love it too.

Salad (2)
carrots
onions
peas
sweetcorn
OJ

housework and waddling

I have had a haircut. DD had her fringe cut and it's been absolutely massacred, it is far too short and makes her look slightly deranged . I want to cry when I look at it. I hope that it grows a bit before the baby comes and we take photos [stupid bleeding hormones]

TheTooTWhisperer · 28/08/2009 22:17

I have now been voiceless for 53 hours. Tis beyond a joke. It even hurts to whisper.

TigerFeet · 28/08/2009 22:21

Awww TooT

Glad you've changed your name though.

Are you gargling with vinegar?

bunnynbumblesmum · 28/08/2009 22:25

tiger don't feel 2 cars extreme at all for trip to ikea, well men cannot be trusted to go to places like that and get everything on list, feel you should go just to supervise of course! And as you'd be there you might suddenly be overcome with hunger and would need some meatballs just to stop your blood sugar getting too low! When's the baba due, surely if your craving them it must be that little one needs them as full of important baby development goodness hehehe (i'm a midwife so i know these things )
so my revised list, ahem!
banana
half bag of spinach
lingonberry jam

TheTooTWhisperer · 28/08/2009 22:32

Vinegar, no. Ick. May be driven to it though.

TigerFeet · 28/08/2009 22:32

We could take two cars but it's a 120 mile round trip. Ridiculous behaviour in the extreme. Baby is due in 2 weeks... perhaps I could count it as irrational late pregnancy behaviour? Knowing my luck I'd probably go into labour in the kitchen dept

Ooooh you're a midwife! I'd love to train to be a midwife, but dh works away a lot so I can't work unsociable hours.

bunnynbumblesmum · 28/08/2009 22:40

tiger you can buy them from food shop bit. Frozen so will have defrosted by the time he arrives home, also you can get yummy gravy (need cream to make it) so you could eat them in comfort of own home and wearing PJ's-lush!

TheTooTWhisperer · 28/08/2009 22:46

Cool, a midwife on the thread

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/08/2009 08:02

I can't remember who asked, but yes my skin has improved from eating more f&v, but I also drink A LOT of water.

I have never tried Ikea meatballs. Am I missing out?

Yesterday:

banana
juice
cauliflower
carrots
humous
coleslaw
waldorf salad
salad leaves
tomatoes

tip for new veggers: have 2-3 portions of fruit for breakfast and that gets you off to a good start.

mollyroger · 29/08/2009 11:08

hmm. off for bbq at friends' The sky is the colour of lead

littlerach · 29/08/2009 14:36

I am spotty too.
It seems ot get worse as I get older

We did a mad dash to Bath (did park and ride which was v good) and got dd1's shoes. WE should have co ordinated TooT

I have found a car stereo on Freecycle so am off ot pick up in a bit. I have refused ot buy one as car is so crap it rarely works for more than a few months at a time. TooT will conform crapness of car.

We have been "discussing" a new kitchen . Actually, we discuss it a great deal, but we never do anything about it. the thought of the upheaval makes me shudder.

Avacado
tomato
raisins

Sky is blue here, Molls. Hope you have good weather.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/08/2009 20:18

lol at the use of " " LR!

My f&v intake has been truly dire today. I feel the need to binge on fruit tonight to repent

Where is Pointy?

ThePinkOne · 29/08/2009 21:24

Lemur Ikea meatballs are swoon-worthy. You must try them. (Sorry veggie veggers!)

TooT honey and lemon and a (((((((((((hug)))))))))))

Moll, we love you tooooooo.

Tiger I think it's wholly necessary to take 2 cars. You can't possibly let DH go alone. Although if you can buy the meatballs and gravy it's maybe ok.

Hmmm. Not very good vegger day today. I had mushrooms in my bacon and egg sandwich.

TheTooTWhisperer · 29/08/2009 21:30

has everybody seen the news about TrinityRhino's dh? She was so kind to me recently

TheTooTWhisperer · 29/08/2009 21:31

thanks Pink xx
