Eat fruit and vegetables - 10/10 thread BOOTCAMP, all welcome

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Toooooooooooooooooottttttttt!!!!!!!

Bowls in and knocks Toot into a big pile of sheeppears.

((((((((((())))))))))))

TooTicky · 10/10/2009 10:32

Mits,I love you lots but can I get upnow please? Once my hooves are waving in the pear air I get a bit stuck.

I have been trying to find an autumny poem to bastardise for new thread title. It is not going well.
So, assuming we are not pumpkin up the yam again, any ideas?

TooTicky · 10/10/2009 10:33

I would go up and photograph the sheep pear today but unfortunately the camera is in Germany. Now there'san excuse.

cider apples

TooTicky · 10/10/2009 11:17

Right,see this:

The warm sun is falling, the bleak wind is wailing,
The bare boughs are sighing, the pale flowers are dying,
And the Year
On the earth is her death-bed, in a shroud of leaves dead,
Is lying.
Come, Months, come away,
From November to May,
In your saddest array;
Follow the bier
Of the dead cold Year,
And like dim shadows watch by her sepulchre.

The chill rain is falling, the nipped worm is crawling,
The rivers are swelling, the thunder is knelling
For the Year;
The blithe swallows are flown, and the lizards each gone
To his dwelling.
Come, Months, come away;
Put on white, black and gray;
Let your light sisters play--
Ye, follow the bier
Of the dead cold Year,
And make her grave green with tear on tear.

Percy Bysshe Shelley. A dirge, bless him. Poor sad. I love autumn.

BUT

The apples/windfalls/damsons are falling, and all meals have kale in

is that a reasonable starting point?

If not then lob some ideas thisway or you will get a undiluted TooTshite title.

littlerach · 10/10/2009 14:00

TooT, have a sticker
In fact have 2, one fo rthe poem.

See, toats is manadtory this time of year.

TooTicky · 10/10/2009 14:31

Is one line of bastardised, stolen poem really worth a sticker? Wow!!

MayorNaze · 10/10/2009 20:40

so no new thread yet then? ia m much too busy working hard to think of something clever, someone else will have to do it..

MayorNaze · 10/10/2009 20:45

oh oh oh just remembered the song we used to sing at primary school around harvest festival time!!!

cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green
strawberries sweeter than any i've seen
beetroot purple and onions white
all growing steadily day and night
the apples are ripe, the plums are red
broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed!

twas a boogie woogie type number that we all loved...

c'mon, surely we can do something with that!!!

FrayedKnot · 10/10/2009 21:42

Oh please, please can we have broad beans are sleeping?

I loves it

FrayedKnot · 10/10/2009 21:47

Not dissin' ya TooT, but I think Shelley needed a light box.

Though you'd be right about the kale.

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 11/10/2009 06:47

pmsl at Shelley needing a light box, that really made me laugh out loud.

I am far to unsophisticated for poetry, I very rarely 'get it'

Baby Lemur had another 5.20 waking this morning. Geez it's knackering. We thought we had it cracked last week, but over the past couple of days he's starting to wake up earlier and earlier

yesterday:

banana
blueberries
mushrooms x2
pepper
sweetcorn
tomatoes

Yes we defo need a new title.

mollyroger · 11/10/2009 11:52

oh wow, dsses still sing that song at primary!! In fact, at the yr 6 leaver's party, they all insisted on singing that song, as they all loved it so much

mollyroger · 11/10/2009 11:54

mollyroger · 11/10/2009 12:30

Well, somebody had better make an executive decision, and soon. We don't want to fall off another world edge.

FrayedKnot · 12/10/2009 17:42

We could save the beans. And Shelley with his light box.

FrayedKnot · 12/10/2009 18:22
