Eat fruit and vegetables - 10/10 thread BOOTCAMP, all welcome

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I think I was about 9 when we had "the talk" at school and that was early enough for me, but maybe girls talk about things earlier these days?!

DS has just told me a girl in year 3 at school has her tongue pierced. Can that be true?

apple juice
innocent smoothie
smoothy type thing made of apple grapes melon and strawberries but probably not enough to constitute a portion of any

2 x smoothie things
1 x apple juice
peppers
leek

white chocolate (but it was green and blacks and so must count somehow as a portion, no?)

Could you all please send vibestomy friend who might possibly be going into labour at 32 weeks?

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 29/09/2009 16:39

How's your friend ABW? I hope they've managed to stop the contractions.

Happy Belated Birthday to yesterdays birthday girls

Awwww, glad your dd loved Rainbows LR.

What wine did you make Mayor? I remember my dad making beer, wine and ginger beer. It was all rank bless him, but he made it a personal challenge to drink every drop!

ABitWrong · 29/09/2009 20:45

She'sokay thanksLemur. It was caused by a water infection. Didn' know that could happen.

Quiet in here.

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 30/09/2009 06:50

UTI's can start off labour, that's one of the reasons why your wee is tested at MW appts.

Yesterday:

banana
blueberries
onion
leek
grapes
cauliflower

Oh crap, I thought I had a good f&v day.

Yawm, ds woke at 12, 4 and 5.30. I thought a long snuggly feed in our bed at 5.30 would get an extra hour out of him. It didn't.

I think the disturbed sleep is because of a developmental shift .......... he's started to walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He done a few steps on Sunday. Then on Monday and yesterday he done it a few more times. Then this morning, as soon as he was able he was walking everywhere. He just needs to calm down a bit as he goes for it full pelt and ends up face planting
