Eat fruit and vegetables - 10/10 thread BOOTCAMP, all welcome

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello

Nice to see Molly, Guad and Mits again.

I'm recovering slowly - managed a day at work today but my voice seems to be disappearing and I'm coughing all the time. ABW, how's your voice?

Blimey, OB, I hope you took your Berrocca! Didn't you crash your car at another festival last year? Have you thought about getting the bus?

I am doing Creative and Critical Writing. It sounds poncy. It probably is. I have to write two books basicly, one creative, and one critical. It's like Ronseal.

I cannot shift a sore throat and earache despite having a hip flask of cider vinegar. I am going to bed in a minute with a book about Idina Sackville. She was wild despite a shotaway chin. She properly abandoned her children to be wild though. Odd.

ThePinkOne · 14/09/2009 20:46

Just nipping on to see if Tiger's had that baby yet?!

What's spotify?

I'm starting my LLL peer supporter course tomorrow. And having new windows fitted.

ThePinkOne · 14/09/2009 20:52

Wow Guad! Sounds impressive

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 21:03

Righty, anyone living in Wilts / Somerset / Gloucester region, come to the BrizzleFest this weekend. Gonna be a good un. £10 for both days.

Yes Guad, I am a fool. And there was plenty of Berocca, resolve, coca cola etc etc. Still didn't help! I even tried some fuh n vuh

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/09/2009 21:23

Sounds impressive Guad. I think you'll be great at it, your posts always have an air of intellect about them.

Hurrah for LLL peer supporter course Pink, what a great thing to do.

Osmo - did you write another car off not that long ago, or was it the same one? Blimey o'reilly.

Yes, and what is spotify? I have never heard of it.

Random comment of the day: I saw Norman Tebbit in our local M&S the other day. I didn't see what he was buying though. He seemed familiar, then I realised who it was.

SuperBunny · 14/09/2009 21:38

Well done pink and good luck.

I bet Norma Tebbit buys basketfuls of spuds.

TigerFeet · 15/09/2009 10:17

Hiya SB, hope you're on the mend now.

Good luck with the peer supporter thing Pink, what a great thing to do.

DH brought some sprouts home from work a couple of days ago. The first of the season. It'll soon be Christmas

Swaliswan · 15/09/2009 10:47

Apologies for the following hijack...

Frannyandzooey if you see this, could you come and share some of your treasure basket knowledge over here please?

Guadalupe · 15/09/2009 11:17

lemur - what you really mean is, sometimes I sound like a wanker.

Berrocca is berocca, yes? See I can't even spell.

Today is very grey and windy, nearly time for autumn coats and boots I reckon.

I don't think Franny is about atm, swan. Are you about, Franny?

mayasmom · 15/09/2009 12:03

sounds good! i'm going to give it a go! ... must remember to eat banana instead of rich tea biscuit.....

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/09/2009 12:11

I didn't mean that at all Guad! Sometimes you'll write something and it sounds like a passage from a book.

That reminds me, I've got Book Club on Thursday and the book was utter utter self indulgent SHITE.

It's a proper Autumn day here too. Grey, windy, rainy and the breeze smells lovely and fresh.

Hi there Mayasmom, are you going to join us?

Glad ikt is not just my 7yo Mayor...ds2 is highly strung atm.Very.

Bollocks I ambloody pissed.I did not mean this tohappen.

OsmosisBanana · 15/09/2009 16:34

ello ello ello.

Ok.... talk to me about fucking marrows. Not engaging in carnal acts with said vegetable, more what to do with an allotment covered in the buggers.

Have done roast garlic n marrow soup, don't really want to go down the stuffed route as always end up doing that. Is Marrow rum actually acceptable? Guad, you seem the sort who would know of such thing?

No F&V as yet but am doing huge b/nut squash, garlic, red onion, sausage and creme fraiche concoction later.

Might manage 3 But have done at least 2 hours walking and an hour of lugging heavy camping gear up ladder into loft.

Mein auto gerbroken est. Apparently it needs a new computer thingy that controls central locking / wipers / headlights.... all useful items this time of year However, I have just managed to make the headlights work where the mechanic previously failed so I am feeling a bit more hopeful. Don't really want to spend £300+ on a car that only cost me £1k.

How is everyone? 5 days work left before I have to use my brain again.

ABitWrong · 15/09/2009 16:37

Oh, there wuz I thinking marrow sex might be interesting. Gert innit like.

Um.

OsmosisBanana · 15/09/2009 16:49

Surely an overgrown courgette would be better Wrongun? You could do yerself a nasty on a marrow. Think it's wine o'clock.

DH has got the decks out. I am thinking about having a go before he gets home. An impromptu toddler rave.

How is DS' eye now?
