For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Was it that programme with Samantha Janus in? I remember that!

Boco · 14/09/2009 10:03

littlerach · 14/09/2009 11:37

Toad has escaped anyway

I went 9 days over with dd2 (after dd1 being 5 WEEKS early, it felt like 2 months over )
WE moved house, went on long walks and ate a lot of curry and pineapple.
Then had 2 sweep things.
It is such a torturous time, waiting.

Boco · 14/09/2009 11:54

Hooray for the toad.

Mine were both very late. Tardy babies.

MayorNaze · 14/09/2009 13:50

hurrah for the toad

my friend is having a c section on thurs (1st baby!), have spent most of te time sinc e my last post talking to her about what will happen.

even though i have never had a c section

am v excited for her

have also baked strawbery cupcakes and just got them out the oven, they will definitely count as a portion of fruit

am sitting next to dd pondering the disturbing fact that mr maker is actually quite attractive

dd keeps pointing at the grinning mn faces and saying look mummy goat face

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/09/2009 16:26

Hi.

Especially TF.... do you have your pockets stuffed with baby items whilst doing all that you are already doing?

Is SB around? Are you recouperating?

I love toads. There is one that lives on our drive and he is lovely. I should imagine they are quite wise. I always think slow ponderous creature are probabaly the wisest.

Spotify does need something to activate it, but there is alo we7 and jango.

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 16:26

Good god, Mr Maker attractive??? New depths are being plumbed.....

Hello.

Any baby movement TF? I am ignoring the ODI situation, it pales into insignificance next to the Ashes.

solero
dunkers
parma ham and mozarella sandwich.

Not in the right thread am I?

There is a mountain of chard and marrow looking at me forlornly so am enjoying eating gak until I can no longer put off dealing with the boring veg.

How has everyone's summers been? A brief summary (ha ha, no pun intended) of the Banana family's adventures

Glastonbury - shite in so many ways it makes me feel a bit mental even now

Shambala - awesome and still in mourning despite the fact it was over 3 weeks ago

Boomtown - very messy indeed

Gower camping, v good did skinny dipping and marshmallow toasting and eating of meat and was generally eaten alive by mosquitos but am sunburnt and happy

Bristol Festival this weekend, yay

DH birthday next Tuesday, have ridiculous day of eating, drinking, shopping and hot air ballooning planned and NO CHILD!!

Speaking of emergency raving, DH has been asked to play at a 'reunion' gig at Lakota in October. I am terrified for him. We have dragged the decks out of hiding and will be driving oiur neighbours insane for the rest of the months with poorly beat matched records. I bloody loves it I does.

Urk. Back to uni at the end of the month. Marks actually start to count now. Eek.

Are you sorting things ABW? Any progress?

mollyroger · 14/09/2009 16:28

I paid nowt for spotify. maybe had to register but even my son managed to sign up.

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 16:29

ello Moll, have life's monetary mings resolved themselves suitably?

FrayedKnot · 14/09/2009 16:39

OB that sounds like a great day planned

Yes, Guad, what are you going to be studying?

Am slightly in awe of anyone who does a PhD

i need a DAB radio

Blueberries
Satsuma
Apple
Sweet potato chips

mollyroger · 14/09/2009 16:42

sadly not OB, things still about as shit as they can be, but dh has an incredibly exciting meeting in the next fortnight which may change things.

your summer sounds awesome! Please tell about shit glasto (dog-in-manger emoticon)

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 16:54

Oh Moll, it was bloody atrocious.

a) massively overdosed myself on bad things as they all bloody worked a bit too well which lead to majorly painful 'hangover' and total insanity after massive sleep deprivation

b) had to work with said hangover, went to meet up with DH afterwards who was with our friends, spent all night roaming site looking for him as neither he nor I caould get a signal on our mobile, had awful night having my ear chewed off by some nut nut who wouldn't stop banging on about how skinny I was and was I doing it to keep DH happy. Eh?

c) just about managed to have a good time listening to Zion Train until the heavens opened and I fell into a lot of mud, a lot of times, mostly near the toilets, whilst not having any form of waterproof stuff

d) DH had 'his best Glasto ever' as it seems did all of my friends who STILL won't shut up about it and keep banging on about 'the dream team'.

e) wrote off my car by slamming into a telegraph pole at 50mph leaving site at midnight the following Tuesday (was sober n stuff btw)with no mobile on me to call DH / parents who still looking after DD.

Took about a month to get over it.

I just will never learn.

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 16:54

So is DH out of workl?

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2009 16:56

DD and I did go to Shambala as maggots though which made up for it

TigerFeet · 14/09/2009 17:03

Test cricket is just marvellous, wouldn't you say?

I am massively of your messy summer OsBa. Apart from the car thing. Which is obviously shite.

Glad things seem to be looking up Moll

God I am bored.

MayorNaze · 14/09/2009 18:07

on the other hand i have done bugger all exercise unless you count sprinting to wipe dds nose 800000000000x - she manages to do an exploding sneeze just as i am in the garage/folding laundry/at a crucal cookig moment

i bid you farewll for the night my lovlies

mollyroger · 14/09/2009 18:24

OB he is self employed, so not technically out of work, more no paid work for the 'day job' for a long time. We have been living off my meagre part time wages for months. or rather, failing to live on my meagre wages...
The thingy in fortnight is ''hopes and dreams (and lots of fuckin' unpaid hard work may come to fruition'' situation. Sorry to be oblique but not allowed to say more at the moment.

mollyroger · 14/09/2009 18:26

sorry about crap Glasto. I had one of those last time I went. Which is why it was the last time I went

Really fancy shambala, one of my mates is involved somehow.
