Wake Pea Up Before you Goji - 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Why has DS removed and hidden the loo roll and towel holder from our downstairs loo?

Strange child

TooTicky · 11/06/2009 22:16

Oh LR, I am so sorry, I missed your post about dd2. How is she?

TooTicky · 11/06/2009 22:18

SB, fab!

Mits I am heartily of your long, luxurious bath.

FK slightly insane children are the best.

FrayedKnot · 11/06/2009 22:45

Mmm, they probably inherit it from their slightly insane parents, TooT

womblingalong · 11/06/2009 22:48

Hurrah SB, despite overall exDH shitness.

I am of your bath too Mits.

Waves at TooT

I am also of the meet up.

It's official, I am now canned from work, my last day is Tuesday next week.

I have been offered the 6 month contract job, which was supposed to be part time, but they want to increase to 5 days. I have managed to negotiate 4 days, once childcare is sorted, and 3 days until then.

My nursery has said they can't offer an extra day until September, do you think that's ok as a timeline? I am negotiating salary, they have upped it a bit, and I have go to go in with my next negotiation tomorrow am. I am hoping they'll pay me the full time salary or a bit more for 4 days work.

Please send me good luck vibes.

Just a quicky before I retire to the boudoir.

banana
blueberries
nakd bar
satsuma
cauliflower
carrots
cucumber x2
humous
mixed beans
radishes
tomato

Have been to bookclub and have been discussing mooncups. One of the ladies uses one, I was impressed

You alright Franny?

TooTicky · 11/06/2009 23:08

Absolutely FK.

hello Lemur

Oh, one grape and about 4 raisins.

TooTicky · 11/06/2009 23:22

Has everybody gone to bed?

OP posts:
CKelpie · 12/06/2009 00:06

One banana
two apples
One carrot
Half a courgette and
a pile of mushrooms but probably count those as one portion as the courgette was not that large and it was only about half a dozen mushrooms.
Oh and an orange squeezed in at the last minute.
6 - Don't know how to fit any more in, the banana was with yog for bfast, the apples were mid am and pm snacks, lunch was a baked potato with the last of my veg & quorn bolognese sauce and dinner was all the courgette, carrot and mushroom with pasta and an orange for an evening snack. I'm trying to lose weight so don't want to eat more than I need. How do you do it?

Fanny Adams in terms of excercise (again ) but tonnes of paperwork....

SB glad you approve of my mooncupping. Sounds fairly stressful re absent ds yet temporary, which is good.

Hope the black eyes fade fast and the job negotiations are successful.

Goodnight

SuperBunny · 12/06/2009 01:15

FK, your DS sounds interesting

CKelpie - you must eat 4 or 5 for breakfast - raisins, bananas, berries & juice is easy. Then you only need 5 or 6 during the day which isn't so hard [hypocrite]

We didn't make a card.

I will have a long bath tomorrow. With a book and a nice cup of tea. Good luck, Wombling

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2009 07:36

SB hurrah for surprise ds visit
v nice for you both

kelpie yes you must have more for breakfast - and less carbs i guess if you are really full and not getting 10 - eg less cereal more fruit
less pasta more veg
plus instead of quorn you could have had beans and counted them as 1
have a smaller jacket potato and have a salad with it

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2009 07:40

i am doing really crap 10/10 btw so it is easy for me to tell everyone else what to do
if i get through the day with both boys still intact i count it as a result
ds2 climbed up 11 stairs yesterday while i was in the kitchen
thank god no harm done
have stair gate now

i have crappy sore throat thing
ugh
am stressing that i will be ill for london
went to bed early last night and couldn't sleep
what's the point of that?

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2009 07:40

FEWER carbs? aargh

TooTicky · 12/06/2009 07:41

Franny you are not allowed to be ill for London. Well, you can come and snuffle but you mustn;'t miss it.

OP posts:
TooTicky · 12/06/2009 07:42

I was knackered last week, managed to go to bed at 7 but couldn't sleep until 3

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2009 08:16

no i wont miss it, but it's our family holiday for the summer, so i would rather be well for it

mollyroger · 12/06/2009 10:15

ugh. I just cried in meeting with head about ds2 and head suggested using the fact that his behaviour ''makes mummy cry and be upset'' as a deterrant!
And I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN THROUGH GULPS AND SNORTS THAT i THOUGHT THAT A WAS HIDEOUSLY emotionally manipulative idea and tyolly against my parenting style to be unreal but they weren't listeing to me so I cried more.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2009 10:48

oh heck molly
put it in writing
you are fab
they have no clue

mollyroger · 12/06/2009 11:00

yes apparently we have done too much talky talky with him and now we have to try punishing him (sorry, consequences at home when he has misbehaved (and been punished) at school ''to reinforce the school/parent partnership''

I feel a bit over a barrel as 'our way' seemingly hasn't worked.

mollyroger · 12/06/2009 11:08

on a more positive note, I have charries in my graze box today...
and ''chocolate''

mollyroger · 12/06/2009 11:08

cherries
Charries sound like some scary faux bbq meat thing

mollyroger · 12/06/2009 11:49

Ah the cherries are crap, Franny. They've gone already...

TooTicky · 12/06/2009 13:08

Molly that sounds really wanky. Hugs.

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/06/2009 13:44
