For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Urgh no! It is so NOT relaxing to know I HAVE to sit there and I can't do anything else Aaaaarrrggh

I'm not that bothered really. It's such a short period of time in the grand scheme and all that. It's just that I'm having friends round next week (selling type party) and he almost certainly won't be asleep on time! Oh well, I can always make yoghurt with the ebm I have in the freezer Will see how he goes tonight. Every 2 hours for the last 3 nights. Maybe I'll start shoving baby rice down him

SuperBunny · 25/06/2009 02:38

It's a bit frustrating, isn't it, Pink? But you can't blame DS really... who'd want expressed milk when you can have fresh warm stuff straight from your mummy and a little lie down and a cuddle at the same time?

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2009 08:28

ds2 just looks at us quizzically if we put a bottle in his mouth
as if he would like to spit it out but is prepared to let us do it just for a bit, to be polite
he doesn't suck it or anything

TooTicky · 25/06/2009 08:31

Morning.

This thread is a bit full.

Hello..

I love your hat story fran, and am glad it is funnier than me telling someone I had been Kockboxing....

BFing is about the only time I have ever sat down for extended periods..they ought to make squidgy breast baby feeders.. or would that be really odd?. It will pass Pink, but I understand your frustration .

I am a bit high, but life is sort of shitty at the moment so I feel like a yo-yo.

I am really struggling with food, which is so annoying because I worked so hard to achieve a healthier balanced lifestyle. But I am trying to be good.

littlerach · 25/06/2009 10:47

Oh fran, you have made me laugh re the Hat

Dunno, I would be v cross with dh if he said that.
But he has been known to say Not Nice Things in moments of sheer frustration, or to walk off muttering things.
I would tell dc that it isn't nice what he said, and that he is cross. And I owuld say it loudly so he heard me.

Guadalupe · 25/06/2009 11:33

Pink - you need to embrace the laziness

Toot - on threads I'm on it I thought you had posted that this thread is a bit dull, ha ha.

Fingers crossed for you today SB xxx

Well done keeping at it during the growth spurt Pink. It is hard, but you can do it.

pinkspottywellies · 25/06/2009 18:24

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Same again last night then he had a 3 hour sleep at lunchtime alright for some

I was very tempted to go to clinic today and tell the HV that he's waking loads in the night and see if they tell me to wean. Then argue loudly, quoting stats and guidelines My friend and I have both been told that our babies are 'perfect' cause they're 50th centile When the HV said it to me I said 'Oh dear DS you're AVERAGE. How very BORING'! My friend text today and said she'd had the same comment so used my response!

Pear, apple, plums, raisin, oj, cuc, tomato, carrot, chickpeas (my tuna mix), spring onion, lettuce, peas, sweetcorn, spinach. 10 and a bit I think.

Lol at Fran's DS2 response to bottle

Have developed the graze box idea for my step-dad. 7 weeks of graze then week 8 I'll send homemade sweets, cakes and biscuits He'll love it!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/06/2009 19:21

Lovely idea for your sd Pink. I hope his treatment goes well.

Am knackered today.

Boco · 25/06/2009 19:38

Dp has left for an expedition in the Lake District with his one man tent and a plan to climb mountains for 4 days.

The cat has chosen this particular time to catch a bird, but not hurt it, just carefully release it in my bedroom. I've just spent half an hour with the girls and a net and a teatowel and lots of flapping and screaming. It managed to get lodged under my chest of drawers, and then in the cupboard, adn then right under my bed. We caught it eventually, released it outside but it's not very old so I'm not sure if it's learned how to fly. It's sitting on the lawn squawking and looking really angry and the girls keep shouting 'WE SAVED YOU NOW GO!' which isn't helping anything.

Dp usually does this stuff, this is his stuff to do, catching birds etc.

Boco · 25/06/2009 20:26

The bird's mother has found it and is feeding it! Either that or just a helpful passing starling. I'm never going to be able to let the cat out again - or at least not until helpful starling has taught small bird to fly.

pointydog · 25/06/2009 20:27

pointydog · 25/06/2009 20:28

another mighty 10

boco, your cat is a rotter

Boco · 25/06/2009 20:29

Blimey Pointy - when did you get so good?

This is the thread to talk about our bird related experiences isn't it?

Ok. I will list

raisins and dried fruit in muesli
peach
tomatoes
carrots
green beans
mushrooms
orange juice

Hmm. Only seven.

Boco · 25/06/2009 20:31

cat used to be a rotter, but now she's an old lady with large bells around her neck so hasn't caught anything for years - she only does it because dp went away.

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2009 20:31

pointy wahoo

gosh am tired
have spent all day in woods
ds1 and friends cooking things on fire, catching newts, paddling in a stream
was lovely i want to do it again tomorrow

Boco · 25/06/2009 20:32

This thread is very full. I'm filling it up all by myself.

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2009 20:34

i tried this kind of rolls royce custom sling on today
it was something else
i felt like i could have gone for a jog in it whereas i do usually feel like i am hefting round quite a large heavy baby

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2009 20:35

oh dear yes
shall we have shouting guava guava

Guadalupe · 25/06/2009 20:36

I waved at you a moment ago, Boco, as I went to TW Gaze. It was a duff selection though. I have persuaded dh to go to salvo fair in London on his own at the weekend. I don't think I can stand any more dust, rust and fogey smells.

Fires and forests and newts sound fun. We have had a birthday party today and tonight dh and I were supposed to be going out but my mother is ill so we are getting thai takeaway. I wish it would hurry up.

Guadalupe · 25/06/2009 20:37

yes to guava guava, that was the anthem of the summer we got together and it is anniversaire today!

pointydog · 25/06/2009 20:40

It is so sweet how you congratualte when 10 portions are reached.

Guadalupe · 25/06/2009 20:41

lol, you patronising hound
