For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Stuffit, I don't have Avi's email.
I'm sure she'll be along later though.

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 17:43

Good news Boco but oh i sympathise about the sleep SOOO much. I've never forgotten what it was like.

Good for you Molly, you'll make it work.

We've cooled off to 36. I'm about to retire or just expire maybe.

How is Tiger, what is the news of Tiger?

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 17:56

franny there is an eczema cure being touted in active convos

it involves boiling curry leaves apparently

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 18:01

oh dear but pointy is being deeply sceptical

TooTicky · 26/05/2009 18:02

was meant to have carrots, but I can't find them.

I make that 8.5 for the day.

Aargh, I'm really close to a sticker!!!

Sleep?!?! what is this thing called sleep?

Ooh speaking of sleep, I'm hoping to get some in 3 weeks as our new mattress will be arriving then
I can't wait!
How sad is that? I'm super-excited about a bloody mattress.

I need to get out more

It does have memory foam and springs inside springs 'n everyfink tho'.

TooTicky · 26/05/2009 18:08

oh franny, I am getting so fed up with odd alternative ideas to help eczema. I can't help myself, I'm going to become a horrible person. dh has just suggested to me that IABU

pointydog · 26/05/2009 18:34

toot, you've done good. I just think it's Went rather than With. But you are great so don't worry.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2009 18:41

toot i actually feel tons better now i have stopped believing i can cure it
that and the fact that what we're doing has improved it to the point where it's quite manageable
the problem with trying new treatments is that you have to stop using the spray barrier cream we use and which does help it be less atrocious
then whatever the new thing is usually exacerbates his skin anyway
aloe vera gel was the worst i think! followed by drapolene mousse
anyway once you get into putting new substances on broken inflamed skin, you want to be pretty darn sure they are going to work and not make it worse
curry leaves would probably finish us all off

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2009 18:42

pointy i think it is a parp subject for you
i can imagine it enrages and frustrates you and i can understand why

SuperBunny · 26/05/2009 18:42

Where's this eczema cure thread then? I'm feeling a bit desperate.

I'm stressed. I have 4 weeks left but won't have anything in writing for 2 or 3 weeks which makes booking flights tricky and emptying an apartment. And, I can't afford the flights home. Ho hum. What to do?

Veg soup (1)
Juice

SuperBunny · 26/05/2009 18:47

Oh, right, I could use a potato. I have one.

pointydog · 26/05/2009 18:48

yes, I should parp. You are right.

Did you read the Death Sweat cure, though? I couldn't beleive it when I heard that at the medieval fair (fayre). I nearly throttled the re-enacting peasant.

TooTicky · 26/05/2009 18:49

Sorry Pointy.

Sorry Franny.

SB, that must be very frustrating

The ILs have booekd their flights I think. They have been having garage sales to try and dispose of some of their stuff. They have had lots of quaotes for shipping: soooo expensive though.

And osme delicious caramel shortbread that i made this afternoon

Dd2 has either a splinter or Something in her foot. She keeps begging me not to find a needle

SuperBunny · 26/05/2009 18:54

Mmm caramel shortbread

Vacuum Fried Bananas

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 18:57

sb I'm so glad you are so close to getting your wish

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2009 18:58

it had something called milkshake mix in, which was dried bananas, dried strawberries, and giant white chocolate buttons
[beam]
it was "2 of my 5 a day" as well

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 18:58

xx

pointydog · 26/05/2009 19:00

I think i'd like to try vacuum fried bananas

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 19:03

Buttons? Hooray. Mine is coming tomorrow.

I don't feel like going to Weightwatchers. I feel like going to the Japanese instead. Anyway it's so low fat there that it's practically negative calories, maybe I will get thin just from eating fried calamari going.
