For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Greeny's visit seems a bit doomed
she has awful back pain and can't move
she's meant to be coming on Thursday

TooTicky · 26/05/2009 09:30

A tortoise? A real one?

Franny I hope she feels better very soon.

lol at Toots lyrics!.
i FIND out about school appeal today. Ulp. I had managed to forget all about it until a friend texted me this morning to remind me that I would hear and now I feel sick and trembly and I am at work...and cannot do anything about it until i get home

mollyroger · 26/05/2009 09:36

Buda, I read about your school woes on another thread Glad it's sorted.

Buda · 26/05/2009 09:52

Yes TooTicky - a real one! I have NO clue what to do now.

mollyroger - it's sorted. Problem is boy who took the book is a friend of DS and his mum figured out last night that he had taken it. Basically it turned up yesterday and he said he found it but she thought it was odd and questioned him. She phoned me last night to let me know and he spoke to both DS and I and apologised. He also asked DS if he could still be his friend . This morning I spoke to the teacher and explained what had happened and that X had apologised and that it was over and done with as far as I was concerned. The the boy's mum went to the teachers too - she spoke to the teachers of both classes as things have gone missing in the other class too which wasn't her DS. The teachers decided that everyone should know the whole story rather than gossip. So they told everyone and the boy is being punished. They also pointed out that if he hadn't owned up and they had found out it was him that the punishment would have been more severe. He did wrong so he was punished but he also owned up which was brave. I waited around to speak to the boy's mum as she is a friend anyway. She is very upset. We both had a cry. But we are fine - I assured her I didn't bear any grudges. She can't understand why her DS did it. The teacher then phone me later to tell me what action had been taken. It has all been very stressful!

EachPeachPearMum · 26/05/2009 10:03

Thanks TooT... it all becomes clear

I know the tune, but am a little too young to remember the lyrics

The queen of the veggers liked my title-W00t!

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 10:10

lolol at the queen. Revolt I say.

I didn't get the title and I still don't after the link. Never heard it before. It's very good though I'm sure, I like the guava bit though I agree it is quite like underworld. We played that at our wedding as it was the song of the summer we got together and seemed to be played at every party/festival etc.

Look at the weather. Am glad we had our lovely day out yesterday.

Poor greeny. Any chance of a miracle recovery with an osteopath visit?

Mango

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 12:09

Fruit? Cake? Geddit?

Boco · 26/05/2009 12:17

I don't know this song either, even after watching the video. But they look like they're having good Medieval fun.

I do like EachPeach's title, we should use that next!

It's miserable weather, dd2 up half the night with bad chest again, which is a shame as she's been really well for ages. She's also covered in eczema so was crying with itchiness when she wasn't crying with wheezing. I want to go to bed and read my book.

Had good veg day yesterday with home grown chard and rocket.

Today I have eaten a vanilla slice.

Boco · 26/05/2009 12:18

Good luck Moll, fingers crossed for you.

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 12:34

Mmm, do they have real cream in? See, I have one rebel already.

Cake cake cake...

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 12:39

Can someone bring me a a vanilla slice, PLEASE. I am bored.

Pineapple
grapefruit
banana
raspberries
fishfingers.

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 13:10

hello tried to reply earlier Toot but internet went down

yes all fine but not eating well, not many veggies or fruit, not much of anything, so very boring and nothing ever to report, and cooking is such hard work, i've told the children to eat school lunch and they have sandwiches and chips for tea on white bread

and i just find it so hard to keep up but i do think of you carrot munchers as i roll around mn getting into arguments

i was reading one of greeny's threads, sounds like she went through something dreadful

Boco · 26/05/2009 13:10

Nah, the cream wasn't very real tasting. But it was ok.
I would like a real cream chocolate eclair next please.

We had dps home made sour dough bread for luch, but something seems to have gone wrong, and it was flat and the crust absolutely unchewable, so I may have worked off all this mornings calories with the effort.
