For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I have an oat flip. That will have to do.

Do you get into a lot of arguments, Stuffit? I can rarely be bothered really. I seem to argue quite a lot in rl but on here I just roll my eyes.

mollyroger · 26/05/2009 13:15

shiny school dream is all over. it's a no.

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 13:16

i suppose point proving rather than arguments, which is equally childish

rolling eyes is the thing really, i think there should be an eye-roll emoticon

how are things with you Guad are you in good health

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 13:16

molly that sounds like bad news though I don't know the background
what has happened

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 13:21

I am in very rude health thank you, stuffit.

Molly - that's awful. Really sorry to hear that. What does it mean, that he can't go to the one you wanted or that he can't go to any of them? You didn't get any of your choices did you?

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 13:34

It's half term isn't it. Does ds know yet?

Boco · 26/05/2009 13:38

Oh dear sorry Molly

Stuffit you sound fed up, hope things are ok.

mollyroger · 26/05/2009 13:41

I'm ok, just need to lick my wounds. We got third choice and it will be fine. is an ok school.
But the appeal was so terrifying and dh and i put up such a good fight, I can't believe anybody had a better case than us! And I'm not usually one for self-promotion, but we did good! I had allowed myself the hope that we might be successful.
And to find out even that was not enough is very, very gutting to be honest.
Can't tell ds til tomorrow. Amd dreading it.

FairLadyRantALot · 26/05/2009 14:06

oh dear molly....

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 14:11

Oh yes, I forgot he was away. What was your main argument for the appeal? Was it SEN stuff? I just wonder what reason they give you for overriding your appeal to be at that school, whether they think the SEN provisions are adequate at your third choice? Do you get feedback?

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2009 14:13

oh god sorry moll - having tried, hoped and not got what you want is very hard

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2009 14:15

so what are you all rebelling against? being made to, er, voluntarily come onto an internet site and eat vegetables?
hmm yes i can see your problem

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 14:18

We were rebelling against being subjects, a position not deigned by yourself fear not.

sorky · 26/05/2009 14:22

does anyone know if dried blueberries are okay to count as 1?
How many goji berries should a portion contain? They are vile too, but good for me apparently .

Have managed
Apricots
Prunes
Banana
Apple
Raisins

Halfway there.

Sorry you didn't get your first choice Moll.

A tortoise!? How exciting, my MIL has 2 still going strong.
Fantastically entertaining creatures when they get a shift on

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 14:24

Anyway, with raspberries and blueberries on your head instead instead of rubies, it makes for a very ephemeral seasonal crown.

Sorry - I will behave myself. I blame the fudge. We bought it yesterday from a shop called ROCK and Puff if you can believe it. What a name.

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 14:24

Not that sort of rock or puff, but still funny I think.

Guadalupe · 26/05/2009 14:26

Dried blueberries should count as a portion in the same way that other dried fruit counts, Sorky.

Goji berries are like little goat's shits but if you buy this raw chocolate bar that has them in they are more palatable.

sorky · 26/05/2009 14:32

Thanks Guad
I can manage a tablespoon I reckon, if I hold my nose.

Lovely day here, have chucked the kids out to play as they were starting to fight.
Think it will feel a bit weird if Dd1 does decide to go to school as well be confined to school-terms a bit, still her choice.

sorky · 26/05/2009 14:37

Blueberries/cranberries dried mix
Orange juice
Goji berries- 0.5 (bleurgh)

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 16:02

just back on
hello sorky, hello queeny, hello to all
molly I'm sorry you had bad news..you must be gutted
maybe there's a chance of a move in the summer holidays? sometimes places come up last minute.. maybe you will be top of the list if it happens

littlerach · 26/05/2009 16:36

stuffitlllama · 26/05/2009 16:49

hi lr well i have british weather
how do I email avi? i am [email protected]

mollyroger · 26/05/2009 17:02

no. no. Too late. They can fuck off. If we're not good enough for them, I don't want ds to go to their snotty school. No, not even if they beg us to send him...

Boco · 26/05/2009 17:19

That's the spirit Molly They are fules.

dd is good Stuffit, or she has been for past couple of months, her chest got bad again in the last couple of days but she's not ill with it atm, still running about. I however am shattered after broken sleep. I could never have a baby again, I'd die.

That'd be excellent Stuffit, if you could make it to the picnic.

mollyroger · 26/05/2009 17:26

Besides, school has a big drug problem (allegedly) due to highly affluent parents. Well, it's one thing to have to have second hand uniform. But I'd be mortified if we couldn't buy ds enough charlie to keep up with his contemporaries...
