For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Insert finger and thumb. Squeeze in, twist it a little, bear down and pull!

mollyroger · 09/06/2009 10:41

WISH i was coming to meet-up

womblingalong · 09/06/2009 10:52

Hello my long lost veggers, sorry for my long absence, but have been having a manic time!

SB Great news that you are coming back! I have very persistent exzema on my eylids and neck, so I know how you feel it is so uncomfortable and unsightly, and I am always sure that people are just looking at it when I talk to them.

Molly, Sorry about schopol stuff, it is hard when you put everything into something, especially for DC's and it doesn't work out the way you wanted.

Good eating TooT

Franny, Kamikaze stage doesn't last for long, thankfully, and nowt wrong with soft play, if it keeps you sane.

Gormly plinth sounds exciting, well done to your sis, Franny.

It looks unlikely that I will make it to the meet up at the moment, we have a scheduling conflict between DH and I, that is still not resolved. Hoping that it will work out in meet up's favour, but unlikely. I am gutted.

TigerFeet · 09/06/2009 10:53

LittleRach - wot BE * moll said, plus if you insert your finger up the side of the mooncup to break the seal it's easier. Bearing down helps.

BE hello my lovely. Would you like to time your visit to coincide with dd's birthday party? She wants your dd to come

Nectarine
Satsuma
Banana

Eating quite well atm

Sorry to hear of all teh insomnia. Deffo not a problem I have but I've been there and it's the worst.

I'm not coming to the meetup either, I feel OK at the moment but long busy days take it out of me and I don't want to end up flat on my back again. I'm sure you'll have a fab day, fingers crossed for sunshine.

womblingalong · 09/06/2009 12:09

Hello TF, how are you keeping? Please remind me of your due date?

ReallyReally · 09/06/2009 12:59

hello all

Franny sorry re your friend; SB no you are not being selfish, you and your poor little mite. I used to go stay with my dad - mind you I was a bit older - and I didn't like it at all. I used to cross the days off before I went home. Once he found the chart, and that didn't go down well.

Still, I survived, as I'm sure your ds will.

I didn't get on with my mooncup at all. Sorry.

Franny was it you who used to swear by Aloe Vera? I am vitamin shopping and have been tempted by its claims to be antifungal and immune-boosting, since I am always getting damn colds and battling evil thrush.

orange
Mango
Banana
Raisins
er, cherries (in jam)

Rocket about a tablespoon of, so not even 1 portion, I have left my lovingly prepared lunch at home, and am fruit and vegless at work.

I find out on Thursday for definite whether I am being made redundant, although it is a formality, my cards are marked.

I haven't been near the internet for the past almost 3 weeks, as I had a last minute interview, and then went on holiday to Torquay for 2 weeks complete with both sets of grandparents. We had a beautiful house, and a lovely time, the weather was glorious, but there was no internet connection, unfortunately.

Guad, are you back from your hols yet?

I have now read the thread, and see I missed Stuffit and 100. Hope everyone is well.

womblingalong · 09/06/2009 13:30

Where is everybody, or am I just a threadkiller?

TigerFeet · 09/06/2009 13:37

hello Wombling, Torquay sounds fab, weren't you lucky with the weather? I'm due on 12th Sept . I am OK, I just get tired easily, partly because I can't always eat very well. I've felt better over the past week or so than I have for ages, so here's hoping it continues. I have been a proper miserable old bag a bit down, what with sickness and backache and so forth, so it's nice to get a respite.

Another nectarine
Another satsuma

Two good days on the trot

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/06/2009 13:43

Glad to hear you had a good time wombling... but sorry about the impending redundancy interview...

I also have meet- up ....

DS is coming home for lunch for the time being, and DD was here and it was quite lovely. We are making art projects.

I need to expand my menu, but have very little time....can anyone point me in a 'quick, but tasty and healthy' cookbook or website, please? 1/4 hr is often all I have to spare....

Must get stuff done.

Oh and reallreally..I empathise with your DD issues....would love to help but seem to go around in circles myself. Some people seem on thrive on conflict, maybe it starts in childhood, The need to challenge and question, arming them to use it constuctively is the greatest we can do for them so it becomes something of a strength, rather than self/destructive.

A lot of the great 'leaders' in all areas were later identified as having troubled childhoods, the key is to harness it and give it focus. Given the stress we are going through that may sound a bit ..but I do believe it and it gives me focus turning things around for my DS.

SuperBunny · 09/06/2009 16:09

LR, I don't remember mine being that hard to get out. I have no tail on mine and sometimes have to, um, fish around for it but it's never worryingly difficult. I do it milly's way - thumb and finger, find it, pinch, twist, bear down, OUT.'

Nice to see you, wombling. Good luck with everything.

SuperBunny · 09/06/2009 17:31

Where are you all? I'm bored and lonely.

TooTicky · 09/06/2009 17:44

I am here

ish

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/06/2009 17:53

I am always shit company. Let's be shit company together?

SB - Have you planned 'stuff' to do over the next 5 weeks to keep you busy?

pointydog · 09/06/2009 17:56

I though there was an interesting food/recipe conversation on the go but I think you are all talking about mooncups.

littlerach · 09/06/2009 17:58

Dd2 wants you all to know that she has had 10 F&V today

She is a mini member now I think.

Salad
sweetcorn
banana
pepper
carrot
vourgette
tomato

SuperBunny · 09/06/2009 17:58

Well Lemur, I have watched the final season of Buffy and am now watching Cold Mountain.

Today I must pay bills and maybe do laundry. Tomorrow, well, maybe I'll do paperwork. Such fun.

I think I am being lulled into a false sense of having plenty of time - I actually have an awful lot to do and shouldn't be sitting around doing nothing.

Toot, you are never shit company. Can we help?

SuperBunny · 09/06/2009 18:02

Well done LittleLR

Pointy, would you prefer to talk about food or mooncups? I will happily discuss either.

pointydog · 09/06/2009 18:02

Bunny, are you coming back to the UK from teh US with your ds and dp? Is that what's ahppening?

(I have difficulty keep ing up with some things.)

mollyroger · 09/06/2009 18:04

LR - dd had better have TWO of these, then

pointydog · 09/06/2009 18:04

I like food talk. I have never used a mooncup so that precludes me from talking about them, hence my disappointment.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/06/2009 18:06

So then Pointy, why have you never used a Mooncup? Huh? Huh?

SuperBunny · 09/06/2009 18:10

Yes pointy but just me and DS - exDH will stay here.

BTW, I think you have to have a mooncup to be on this thread. You should probably have admitted to not having used one when you first posted. You may be shunned now

What's for dinner?
