For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol - your house sound slovely, moll, but, yes, I understand the overall effect.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:29

I see. Anne. Clipped in every sense.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:31

No am rather scruffy actually, just not in a hippy sort of way. I don't know. I have short hair. Though I do like good shoes, but mostly I wear slippers.

Now if ds2's anger outbursts are in any way related to your ethnic lamp - which they are not - you are much better to know this. Same as if ds1's weird unsociability is related to my filthy kitchen floor - I'd want to know it too. I don't think you should put on an act, will be totally counter-productive.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:31

Iz goin to eatz mi beens (green)

TooTicky · 15/05/2009 18:32

I have hippy aspects.
Have been getting curious looks since I got my eyebrow pierced though.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/05/2009 18:37

lol at tomato plants being mistaken for cannabis!

I don't think anyone would look at me and call me a hippy, however my friends do refer to me as an Earth Mother at times.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:39

no no 100. You are totally right. (as per bloody...) but what if they say that yellow walls and fairy lights are known anger-triggers...

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:42

Well frankly that would strike me as an utterly reasonable suggestion

I am still lol @ pointy saying slovenly. How

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2009 18:53

pointy you've got your clipboard out again haven't you?

out of this lot i would say: moll, toot, are the obvious hippies
the others have leanings

i have long hair and a big hat
frumpy shoes, baby in a sling
i'll leave it to you whether i look like a hippy or not

ROFL, I had almost forgotton about the BCC. Thank you, you have banished my beginnings of tears and made me guffaw instead.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:56

I don't even think I lean though. Boco leans, she's vegetarian for starters, so does SB, and so does Avi. They all lean.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:58

Oh Molly you mustn't cry. You really are not on trial here. You are doing a really brave thing asking for help - and inevitably you do feel that all this is your fault, but really it isn't and having some outside help and support might be just the thing. I think you are very honest and brave and the ed psych will love you. Please don't feel bad about it love.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:59

fwiw it would make me feel hugely vulnerable, I think it would anyone, but I think that is what makes you brave and honest and truth-seeking and marvellous.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 19:01

I wouldn't normally feel this emotional, I'm sure. I'm not as flaky as my house sounds
It's just been a mutha of a week, and i feel a little overwhelmed by everything.
x

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 19:03

Well I bloody well would be emotional about it tbh. Actually I'd be emotional and then also prickly, I'd be awful. Your house sounds lovely, you are lovely, all will be well. Nobody is at fault here - you know that. I'd hate it though too, I think you're being great. There is no right way to be. There is no right way to decorate your house. DS2 is a mystery, ds1 not the same, it's not all down to you.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 19:07

ahem. I said moll's house sounds lovely not slovenly. Anyway, it's an ed psych coming to see you. It's 70/30 s/he will approve of hippy tendancies

pointydog · 15/05/2009 19:08

oo I can't resist garlic bread even though I know I will regret it bitterly for the next three days

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 19:09

I think it sounds lovely and not slovenly. You are panicking unnecessarily Moll. Right must go and cook supper.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 19:10

Boco is not a vegetarian, unless she is a recent convert.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 19:11

lol @ clipboard. Yes.

  1. hippies: toot, moll
  2. mother earth and other leanings: fran, avi, boco, moveit, bunny
  3. straight up and down, no twists: 100
pointydog · 15/05/2009 19:12

guada, you go to an apricot-gathering collective to work for hours so you must fit in category 1 or 2

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 19:12

you are all lovely, even though some of you pretend not to be. xx
