For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh dear Wombling that sounds awful, hope you feel better soon and get some rest.

I just had a bad start to the day - the cat jumped from the top of the cupboard I think aiming for the desk, but seemed to skid or something and landed on my head / face. I just picked a cat claw from under my eye! Have really deep cuts on my arm, head and face, look like i've been scrapping, and is still bleeding. OWWWWWW!

LR, yes, yes, to dd's being like Anne. Everyone should be like Anne. dd had a friend here and dd was saying to her 'you're really clever' and her friend was doing blushing and saying 'oh no, no I'm not' and I said, 'holdee up a minute. If someone says you are clever, you must say 'thank you, that's a really nice thing to say' because it's a compliment and we should all be THRILLED if someone thinks we're clever. It's a good thing to be. Embrace it.'
dd did 'muuuum' eye-rolling and her friend spilt her squash.

I am feeling very busy and like there's never enough time for anything. I have eaten loads of fruit and veg.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 10:08

Though having said that my dd and ds2 are quite assertive and they often sound v. direct and rude, so it is a bit of a balancing act probably. Also lots of people dislike you if you are like that.

Ow to Boco's clumsy cat.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 10:32

snort at spilt her squash....

SB that is super-exciting! if you do come to WYorks to see your house, you must let me know!

Rain stops me being allotty-totty today
I have decided to tidy dsses rooms as we have invited ds1's 4 bessie mates round for tea to celebrate end of horrid SATS week.
There will be pizza and chips and ice cream and junk and mayhem and carnage.
Not really, they are lovely boys and I feel quite emotional that ds may never see them again after the end of this term.

Grapes
strawbs
melon

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 10:34

we had a bad start to day too. We all slept in til 8.20 and school starts at 8.45. And dh had used all the ham yesterday and not told me so boys had to have jam sandwishces for packed lunch as we had nothing else. Except tuna but the tin opener chose this morning to pack in. I swore at Dh and he shouted and was generally not good. And it is dark and cold and rainy.

mangolassi · 15/05/2009 10:49

Hello all, I'm still not eating any veg. I like the title, but in further proof that i don't belong on this thread, I'm fully au fait with the wanking reference of the original but have no idea what calabrese might be. Is it leafy?

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 12:45

Calabrese is a type of broccoli. Looks exactly like normal broccoli to me though.

LOLOL at spilt her squash. I had to get dd to say start saying thank you when she was complimented as she would just smile and nod, and although it is good to be confident it's not great to look arrogant and as if you are smiling at your subjects.

I am having chickpea salad again. It's like vegger crack.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 12:45

Did he really lose a whole claw in your face, Boco? Poor cat.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 12:49

and poor you of course

TooTicky · 15/05/2009 13:26

I couldn't work out why ds2 was having so much trouble with the cherry stoner yesterday, until I looked closer and realised he was using the garlic press.

Ouch Boco.

Sympathies to Wombling.

Hello to everybody.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 15/05/2009 13:31

Hello Toot and all.....

TooTicky · 15/05/2009 17:09

Hey Mits.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 17:27
  1. We have been dairy free for four miserable weeks now. No improvement in dd2's skin. Her neck did improve but think that is just due to the kinder moisturiser. Her back has become terrible again and for the last three days we've had to put steroids on (plus intermittently before now).
  1. I thought 100 wrote 'split her squash' and I was going to post, ffs you are taking the veg eating lark too seriously. lol
  1. Surely boco only meant part of a claw, the part that comes off if they scratch them? Which wouldn't have hurt the cat at all. ANyhow, we are not bothered about the cat, we are bothered about boco.
ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 17:41

sobanoodle · 15/05/2009 17:50

pointydog · 15/05/2009 17:54

hello soba.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 17:56

TooTicky · 15/05/2009 18:02

How about Hej? I wonder if the Swedes brought it to America. I don't say it Americanly.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:04

Why is the ed psych coming to see you at home moll? Is it to do with the school appeal? When do you hear about that?
