For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hej is good. Or jawohl

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:07

ah no 100. This is one of those lovely cluster weeks of stress...appeal was monday - we find out may 26th. This is to do with ds2 and his anger management issues at school...
Have started thread about it as I am in mild panic.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:12

oh god, Moll really is one of those weeks isn't it. Poor you, and but also good that ds2 is getting some help. Is he coming to stare very hard at you and dh do you think?

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:16

I am terrified she will think hippy=no boundaries.
Come to think of it, do we have any boundaries? My mind will go blank, I know it!
Must look out the 100,0000000 parenting books I have bought over the years to casually leave on coffee table...

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:17

Well, I think it is much more exciting to imagine Boco extracting a whole claw from her face. I think she was wearing a safari hat and emerging with furtive glances from The Jungle too.

Hello Sobu.

I am trying to time my garlic, tomato, basil and watercress stuffed chicken with a whole bunch of asparagus for the same time that the Dominos pizza delivery arrives. This is to help me not eat it. I am determined to be strict and be weighter of the week next tuesday. She tried to give that keyring again last time. I said one was enough thanks, special as it is.

Oh fuck, that's the pizza. It's early.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:17

You have all the necessary boundaries, Molly and you will be great.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:18

so would someone look at you and think 'hippy', molly?

TooTicky · 15/05/2009 18:19

Yes but Dominos are shit, aren't they?

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:20

in fact, how many of you reckon someone would look at you and think 'hippy'?

And why/not?

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:20

erm, I can do a good impression of a 'naice' mummy.
But my home does look, erm, artistic.
(Yellow walls, big artwork canvases, coupla buddhas, ganeshas, candles, ethnic lamps etc )

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:21

oh gosh, yes, I see what you mean, moll

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:21

Yep. But that was ds's request and we said he could choose whatever he wanted for dinner to celebrate end of SATS. It's the garlic bread that gets me. I am staying up here.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:22

What is an ethnic lamp?

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:23

Nah I bet it's not like that Moll, you will be fine. I think they'd want to check that he wasn't angry because he was living in a 'at risk' home, and that both parents were fine and functioning within the vast bracket which is 'normal' don't you? It makes perfect sense really. Ed psych coming to help, not to lay blame.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:23

Guad, we have 4 11-year-olds, who have requested pizza, chips, icecream and homemade popcorn with toffee sauce, to celebrate end of SATS.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:23

can you hide the buddhas and ganeshes? Or are they too heavy?

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:24

I don't think anyone would look at me and think 'hippy'. For obvious reasons.

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:24

You're brave. Ds is going to his friends for a sleepover tomorrow. They can deal with the toffee sauce.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:24

ethnic lamp - rustically carved, genuine african base or beaten indian brass?

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:24

Ethnic lamp is large triangle with parchment stretched over it and 'henna-ery tattoo sort of patterns. Is morroccan.

ahundredtimes · 15/05/2009 18:25

Why does she have to hide the buddhas Pointy?

pointydog · 15/05/2009 18:25

obvious reasons being? Top quality make-up and high heels?

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 18:26

Ah, my mum has one of those.

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:28

pointy, is like holes in dyke. If I moved buddahs and ganeshas, her eyes will then be drawn to the Green Man, the fairy lights, the chilli plants and tomato plants on the window sills (which she will probably assume are cannabis plants)

Dear god, I need to move. Will see if neighbour will let me use her Masterpiece in Magnolia! Even the flowers in the garden are magnolia....

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 18:28

pointy - her alter ago is Anne. Have you ever met a hippy Anne? Or a susan, for that matter.....
