Thought I would start this as the other one was getting really long.

Since I started the other thread I have lots a few pounds, put them back on, lost them etc etc etc. Finally realised that I need to do something about it after this last week of chocolate and crap, went out today for lunch and ate far too much.

On Monday I am going to Rosemary Conleys, i did go before but the time didn't really suit me, but this one finished and starts earlier so I can go when DH is at work while my mum has ds. So I am really going for it now.

Congrats on the ones who joined me last time and have actually managed to lose weight. Watch this space.....

We could make it more interesting and have a little cyber bet.....??

breeze · 24/04/2003 16:48

I would try anything. I have bought a bikini for my Holiday in June 2004, desperately want to wear it and look like a beach babe, only babe I look like at the moment is from the film of the same name

Anything to keep me on track. I've just left a message on the other weight loss chat saying I need someone/lots of you out there to kick me up the butt as I have been really bad for the last 2 weeks with no excuse except laziness and lack of will power.

Rosiemum · 24/04/2003 18:30

I'm feeling really good on day 3 of the diet - I went to a reception at a very posh local hotel last night, met Edward, Earl of Wessex, and managed to turn down all the sumptuous looking hors d'oevres that were being served, and only had 1 small glass of wine... Sophie was also there and if anything inspired me to carry on it was how gorgeous she looked! Today took dds to the cinema, and only had a bottle of water.... I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning to see whether this is having any effect.

I'm getting really bad headaches though - has anyone else had this problem on low-carb diets? How do I overcome this?

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 19:31

Did you used to drink a lot of coffee/tea and have you cut these out. I found when I cut down on coffee I got a headache for a day or two. I don't think you should suffer from a headache on a low carb diet.

I've just asked dh if you would suffer from a headache on a low carb diet and he doesn't think so. He knows about all these things as he is a fitness fanatic.

breeze · 24/04/2003 20:45

I find that whenever I diet (properly) after a few days I always get headaches, I was told it was probably all the crap going out my system. You are not alone there.

jasper · 24/04/2003 23:27

me too breeze, particularly late afternoon when all I have had for a few hours has been watery stuff like fruit and soup

Rosiemum · 25/04/2003 19:03

Thanks for feedback re headaches - yes, I have cut out caffine, so it's probably that. Much better today, am making sure I drink plenty of water which also seems to help.

After three full days on the diet I weighed myself this morning - 12st 13lb - 5lb lost! I know it always goes quickly to start with but it's a great boost to have broken the 13st barrier.

I took my dd's to @Bristol today, well worth the visit if you're in the area, and had trouble finding something to eat at lunchtime, so I bought a chicken salad sandwich and just ate the middle - dd1 polished off the bread! I cannot believe how motivated I feel, and how my cravings for sweet things have just vanished.

breeze · 26/04/2003 13:43

Well done that sounds good. I start Rosemary Conley on Monday, but being quite good at the moment.

Weel, I joined weightwatchers online on Sunday,it's great as I don't have to go to any meetings and do it all from home, and, so far have been very good so I will have to wait and see how much I have lost when I get weighed on Monday morning.

megg · 27/04/2003 09:35

I've lost 3lb this week so I'm really happy.

Chinchilla · 27/04/2003 10:11

I have started stuffing my face again, because I have had a very depressed week.

Diet definitely starts tomorrow...again

Rosiemum · 27/04/2003 17:54

Part of me is horribly down today - dh bought a new pair of bathroom scales as he felt the old ones were unreliable - I've discovered I'm a lot heavier than I thought I was and instead of having two stone to loose it's 4 1/2. :-(

But I've been really good still - I just don't feel hungry or want to binge - I had a glass of red wine last night which was my first naughty of the week, but the funny thing is I didn't want another! Strange...

So, I come out of the closet at now weighing 15st exactly... I hate those new scales! But determined to get the weight off as this is really unhealthy.

Meanmum · 27/04/2003 19:04

I've not been good nor bad this weekend. Therefore definitely no weight loss. It's a fresh week so I'll start again tomorrow. Be confident that there are bigger people out there Rosiemum as I am bigger than you and need to lose a lot. Here we go, It's May this week and I only have 2 full months now to lose the 10 kgs I want before I go on holiday.

jasper · 27/04/2003 22:22

A friend of mine who was frankly huge ( about 18 stone)has lost about 60 pounds in the last 7m.
The point is, the time will pass whether you do anything about your weight or not.
Good luck everyone. It's not easy but is so worth it.

JanZ · 28/04/2003 09:11

11st 1lb today - only 1lb lost this week. I had hoped to break the 11st barrier - but I suspect that finishing off the bubbly from last Sunday, and nibbling at the odd (few!) mini eggs that were lying around the house did not help. But I suppose that slow and steady weight loss is more sustainable and "keep-off-able" in the long run.

But NEXT week I will be under 11 stone!

mum2toby · 28/04/2003 09:15

Morning all! Been 'quite' good recently, but had 2 bottles of wine over the weekend! Ah well... you're only young once.

Janz - Keep-off-able!! LOL that's brilliant!!

Meanmum · 28/04/2003 09:35

Have not been good at all really. Or not good in my book anyway. Weighed myself again this morning and am the wagon once again. Have made my lunch which is very healthy and edible (I think). Will report back at the end of the week to let you know how I get on.

breeze · 28/04/2003 10:08

Well off I go to Rosemary Conley Tonight, I will post weight on then, Today I have had a small breakfast and planning on having some pasta for dinner and sandwich for lunch. Good luck everyone else and well done to those who lost weight.

Since my daughter was born 24 weeks ago I've lost all but 2 pounds of the 3 stone 4 pounds I put on while pregnant, thanks to Slimming World. Problem is I still look pregnant (big flabby tum!).
Can anyone recommend an exercise video/DVD which will help?

breeze · 28/04/2003 12:10

Have you tried an Ab-trimmer, these are really good, you only need 5 minutes a day and your tummy soon goes flat. (When I lose a bit of weight I will start using mine again)

Meanmum · 28/04/2003 12:22

I'm being very good today having weighed myself this morning. Surprisingly I'm not feeling down about my weight but energised to actually lose some.

Good luck to all those going to classes tonight and remember we are all here for you on both good and bad days.

berries · 28/04/2003 15:59

OK - have decided to join this thread as have faffed around with losing weight since Xmas & have put it all back on. I reckon I've probably lost nearly a stone in 4 months, but now weigh exactly the same as I did in Jan (boo hoo). Anyway, am doing the race for life in June (5KM - never run before), am going to be 40 in July, and will be going on holiday at end of July - if that isn't enough incentive I don't know what is.
I weighed myself at 12St 5lb this am, so hope you lot will give me lots of support (& a good kick up the bum when necessary)
Thanks in advance & good luck to all you others out there

mum2toby · 28/04/2003 16:07

I did my Yogalates video for the first yesterday - thought it was crap and didn't do much , but JEEEEEEEEESUS my tummy muscles hurt today!! So give it try, just ignore the sickeningly, nicey nicey woman that presents it.

stilo · 28/04/2003 16:57

Thought I would join in on this thread as I have been losing weight on WW diet but like fizz14 I still have a flabby stomach

Breeze - is an ab-trimmer similar to an ab-roller? I have an ab roller somewhere in my garage which you have reminded me about. Trouble is that our house is cluttered enough with baby apparatus and this contraption won't help with the clutter... I'm just making excuses now arn't I - off to the garage then...
